list of locations
a small (but hopefully growing) list of RP locations complete with a brief setting to help you along with your RPs/quest threads! you do not have to stick to the locations on this list, but these are places that you can definitely use.
in SHIBUSEN
classroom #5
- for some reason classes just don't seem to happen here even though it's an actual classroom, complete with desks and chairs. probably Jerard has purposely set aside this room for exactly the purpose it is currently serving... who knows?
- this is the (kaith-inspired) most popular nighttime lovers' meeting place. SHIBUSEN students come here to make-out at night in the shadowy corners of the room. during the day, this is often a "skipping class" hang-out area as well - minus the sucking noises and occasional grunt.
classroom #7
- classes also don't happen here. actually, classroom #7 doesn't really exist. it's a spacious room that's next to classroom #6 that's been filled with elegant, high-end furniture. there's a pool table on one side, and several couches and armchairs on the other. the windows have window seats, and the wall next to the door actually sports a kitchenette and a minifridge.
- home to the underground SHOP (probably needs a suitably cool name) run by Z and Lucien.
- certain crowds come here to hang out - some come because they're a little shady themselves, some come because they want something from the shop, and some... well, they come because Lucien's here.
classrooms #1, #2, #3, #4, #6
- these are actual classrooms, and classes are held regularly here. they are usually closed and locked at night, but open during the day regardless of whether or not a class is currently on.
the Training Grounds
- a large, circular dirt field situated at the rear of SHIBUSEN, set aside for more practical combat classes.
- there's no closing time so the more industrious students are at it all hours of the day and there's usually someone about running morning laps, taking advantage of the obstacle course or having the occasional midnight feud.
- half-enclosed by chicken wire, students are encouraged to aim away from the school side and towards the line of targets serving as a back boundary.
Training Room
- for those students who prefer not to practice while exposed to the elements or to the public eye.
- to the far side is a gym setup; the middle section is floored with tatami to provide footing and cushioning, and to the left is a row of squashy, blue mats.
- although constructed with soundproofing and reinforced walls, the more destructive or projectile-type students are recommended to take it outside.
Music Room
- a converted space in school that might have been an office or a classroom, it is kept apart from the other classrooms due to the noise that is usually generated within.
- with a smattering collection of musical equipment that is free for use by the students, one or two can usually be found slacking off school or practicing in between classes: there is a registration policy however, where students are expected to take care of the room and equipment and sign in and out, for policy's sake.
Mission HQ
- this is where all the missions are posted and picked up. it is also where all information on WEAPON growth and development is kept. Alexis is QUEEN here, so tread carefully lest you get frostbite.
- when missions require more than one WEAPON/TECHNICIAN pair, this is where they go to find other partners.
- if you're looking for "the duo" or Alexis, you should probably try here first.
the Cafeteria
- A large and usually busy portion of the campus, it doesn't matter if the cafeteria is open or closed: there is always at least one or two people sitting in the dining halls working on something, or talking with someone.
- trying to buy a cup of coffee before morning class can be considered suicidal: only the strongest ever return from the mad dash through the crowds.
- large and quite impressive, it opens for breakfast lunch and dinner, as well as the occasional snack time if you've got the time. Food is acceptable, and sometimes pretty good.
the Library
- the most extensive library worldwide - this Library contains almost all written information on everything in the world, however some classified books are only made available to higher ranked students.
- students often come here to do research for projects, or to study... or other things. there is a strict quiet policy here, though, so please keep your voices at a whisper. preferably, please don't speak at all.
- if you ever need to hide from Ashie (and there should be no reason why you would), this would be a good place to go, as she is banned from entering.
Jerard's Office
- well, the function of this location is quite obvious. you will find Jerard here most of the time (other times, he may be found wandering SHIBUSEN like a ghost.. nobody is really sure why). he tries to make himself easily accessible to his students, so there is a little chalkboard outside on his door where you can leave a note if you arrive and find him absent.
- not much else to say... it's an office?
the Tower
- grand events are held here several times a year.
- once a year, all the un-paired WEAPONS & TECHNICIANS attend a social ball designed to help them find possible partners.
Dormitories
- dormitories consist of a couple of buildings to the side of the main structure of the school: almost a semi-detach in appearance, the buildings are kept separated from each other through the common rooms, and they are also gender split: men and women on opposite sides.
- private housing is also available on campus for families.
Common Room
- consisting of a simple kitchen as well as lounging spaces, it refers to the areas between the different dorm 'sections' that allow both genders to mix.
in Death City
the park
- your almost standard park. usually littered with people relaxing under the sun or feeding the ducks. There is a pond in the center frequented by ducks: they do have the odd habit of biting unsuspecting victims however, so do approach with care!
book/music store
- with an impressive collection of books and music for both the serious and light hearted, there is a coffee shop located in the center of the store that is famous for their hot chocolate.
- most students and professors do frequent the establishment to stock up on academic supplies, but they also have a very good collection of magazines and comics.
cafe Mattel
- a really good daytime hangout for students over the weekend and after classes.
- SHIBUSEN newsletter has rated this as one of the best places to get a cup of hot chocolate, and they very definitely make the best cheesecake.
- it's a bright, cheery area with chatty waitresses - several SHIBUSEN students work here part-time as the hours are flexible and the owner, one Barbie Kennedy, is one of the nicest - not the smartest on the block, but definitely the nicest - employers in the city.
DeathBUCKS
- like Starbucks, but exclusive to Death City.
- find hot, in-need-of-work models, actors, and such here.
- oh, and maybe Alexis, when she's in need of a caffeine IV.
Antonio's
- best spaghetti joint in town. this particular restaurant has held the title of the "Cheapest, Tastiest, and Highest Value-for-your-money" for the past ten years in the SHIBUSEN newsletter. nothing beats it, and if you haven't eaten here before, you have to have been living under a rock.
- the restaurant has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. sometimes it can get a little loud and packed, but it all just adds to the experience.
- Ashie absolutely loves this place, and comes here often enough that Antonio, the owner, knows her by name, but Alexis detests it, claiming that it is too disorganized and the presentation is terrible.
- Z is actually on the 'do-not-serve' list for this restaurant... lets just say, last time he was here, spaghetti - among other things - ended up on the ceiling. Antonio was not impressed.
Nomnomnom Icecream Parlor
- A relatively new start-up business, run by one Aren Kros (hot, male, lick-able, in entirely different ways from the icecream that he sells..)
- Offers almost any flavor of icecream you can think of, from the simple vanilla to some slightly more extravagant creations such as Blueberry Banana's Blonde Bubbles.
the GYM
- unimaginative, but no one really seems to know the name except everyone recognizes it if you say 'you know, that really big gym in town?'
- large and fully equipped with most machines and equipments to make every hard core buff very happy, it also has a swimming pool and offers yoga classes in the afternoons.
- Michael lives here. Really. It seems that way anyways.
the Skatepark
- basically it is what it says it is. Local kids and SHIBUSEN students come here to board, or bike.
- consists of several half pipes, some obstacles, a large flat area, all made out of cement. oh right, and a few railings and steps for your grinding and jumping needs.
bar Xen
- one of the hottest bars in the city. bar Xen is located in the middle of the nightlife district in Death City, and has a relatively trendy atmosphere.
- there is music here, and a small dance floor. older SHIBUSEN students usually start their weekend nights here before moving on to the clubs with louder music and sweatier bodies.
- sometimes, you will find Jerard here, nursing a glass of wine and checking out the ladies - who, of course, are eyeing him right back.
club Nevaeh
- have you noticed it sounds like "neva end" minus .. the nd? well, you were supposed to. it's also Heaven spelled backwards.
- this is one of the aforementioned clubs, with louder music and slightly sweaty, sensually swaying bodies. things that generally start in classroom #5 tend to get carried over into club Nevaeh later on in the night... and with luck, nobody will remember in the morning.
- club Nevaeh is a very popular club, particularly with the younger crowd (meaning the older SHIBUSEN students) and you will most likely find yourself face-to-face with many people you usually see at school.
