New partnerships. They were constantly being formed all year. There never seemed to be a day where there wasn’t a new team. As was the protocol, all new teams were to immediately head to Jerard’s office for a brief meeting.

The school administrator stared at the newly formed pair in front of him. From what his memory could recall, the two boys were Jacob Lightfield and Leon Harten. A quick glance at them both and Jerard had a feeling that the pair would grow to be a talented TECHNICIAN/WEAPON team. However, only time could tell whether his prediction would become true.

The man leaned forward and neatly folded his hands together before finally speaking. “Congratulations, you two. I hope your partnership works out well and I look forward to seeing your progress as a team.”

He rifled through some papers. “Now, I’ve assigned Arashi to give you an official tour of the school, as you are now able to access certain areas that were otherwise restricted. If you have any questions regarding your partnership or the school, please don’t hesitate to ask him,” added Jerard and dismissed them with a wave of his hand, turning back towards his work.

Well that had been pretty clear and to the point. Jake cocked his head to the side popping a few vertebrae in the process. Stretching his arms so that his hands rested behind his head, he turned to glance at his partner. The kid was about four years younger than him, but then again almost all the students were. Still most of the time you couldn't tell who was the more mature one, and maybe that said something about Jacob Lightfeld, but he didn't mind. If you couldn't act young when you were young than what was the point. And it wasn't as if Leon was so damn mature, his apathetic nature just gave everyone the illusion that he was. "Don't look so excited Leo." Jake teased as they exited the head administrator's office.

Resting outside of the door, the other half of the pair began to lean against the wall. "Don't call me that." He said in his own bland tone. It was just his luck that he'd find his WEAPON in this completely green and new to the very idea of soul hunting person. Someone who should've been working on his abilities for years, but no he had to be some slow dumbass who'd spent twenty two years without knowing that he was a WEAPON. Still, surprisingly, other than Jake's annoying habit of being a friendly person, they'd hit it off rather well. And Leon certainly couldn't fault him for being a fast learner. Never mind the fact that he often felt over shadowed by the fact that Jake was so much older. "Do you know who Arashi even is Jake?"

"Nope." The blonde haired man answered with a grin. "But I've got to figure he's important enough to be entrusted with leading us around. Wonder if he's anything like that Alexis I've heard of, sounds like she's a stone cold b***h. HEY! That reminds me of someone else I'm standing next to, wonder who that could be...?"

Leon frowned at Jacob in his normal way. Giving a nonchalant shrug, he was learning that Jake's needling was just a way of being for him and he didn't really mean much by it. "Well, no, he's not like Alexis is. I guess you'll see." Glancing around the empty hallway, Leon hoped he got there soon.

A young male walked through the empty corridors of SHIBUSEN. His left eye hidden by side bangs, his dark blue right eye gleamed in the light. Face soft and round, it was unsurprising if people mistook the Death Scythe for a woman. He was also older than he seemed. His penchant for casual, stylish clothing made it so. Rather than looking like the twenty-one-year-old that he actually was, it was easy to knock off a few years off of that.

Hand reached up to lazily comb his fingers through his long ponytail and his boots clacked against the smooth, polished floor. Head cocked to the side and Arashi’s face remained blank as he neared the administrator’s office. The Japanese man hadn’t been expecting to be ordered to show a couple of students around the school. Actually, he had to question why they would need a tour around campus when a majority of them were students for a long enough time to know their way around. Well, Arashi had to admit that they may not know where the mission department headquarters were, but that was probably it. He hoped he could get this over with quick. He would very much rather be playing his violin or listening to his music.

Finally arriving at the door of Jerard’s office, he spotted a couple of males waiting outside. Lone eye scrutinizing them both Arashi half-nodded to Leon, recognizing the long-term student. He had yet to familiarize himself with the older man, though. Rolling his shoulders to adjust the violin case strapped to his back, he curtly spoke, his voice high for a male yet deep for a female. “Leon Harten. Jacob Lightfield. Correct?”

He threw the pair a laidback smirk and smoothly placed the headphones hanging around his neck on his ears. They wouldn’t mind if he listened to some music, right? It was on low volume so he would be able to hear their voices just fine. Unless they had a habit of speaking softly, it wouldn’t be a problem.

Arashi languidly motioned for them to follow. “I’m Arashi Kurotaki, one of the SHIBUSEN staff here. I assume Mr. Lightfield is new here?”

Both Leon and Jake turned to look as their guide arrived. The man was pretty fair looking for a guy, to the older WEAPON's eye, but hey appearance was a personal choice right? And points for him for carrying around a violin, it made him wish he'd brought along one of his guitars, maybe they could jam sometime. "Dead on Captain." He replied in the affirmative when he asked for confirmation. "I've only been here for a few days now so... you've got your work cut out for you."

"Alright! Let's get this show on the road." Jake tossed the new man a grin. While his partner may have found the whole affair bothersome, Jake was rather excited to get a tour of the school. He'd spent some time wondering aimlessly before and even Leon had tried to show him the important places, but that damn castle was so effing huge; it was pretty easy to get lost. Easily falling into step near their 'leader', he tucked his hands into the faded jeans pockets and tried to listen in on to what Arashi had on his headphones. "What are you going to show us?"

Leon merely sighed and began walking a few paces behind the two of them. From what he'd gathered about Jake, the man would be more than happy to keep himself entertained by peppering the death scythe with questions, it was a serious character flaw of his. "Mr. Kurotaki," he addressed their guide with just the proper amount of respect, no more no less, "I was wondering, given Jake's... age... more won't be expected of him I hope." Because that would be a lost cause.

Obviously Leon's confidence in his partner was waning.

A few days. Oh. Well. That was great. Odds were, this guy couldn’t properly navigate his way around school grounds very well. That was terrific! Not. To be honest, Arashi very much would rather be lounging around the city right about now. Instead, here was the Death Scythe, escorting a pair of students around campus. Actually, the new guy seemed be suspiciously around Arashi’s own age. Plus, he was new? That seemed odd.

The Asian cocked an eyebrow at the WEAPON. “You look around my age. At least twenty years? You’ve never realized you were a WEAPON for at least twenty years?” he questioned him, an incredulous look on his face. He was doubtful of this. Then he carelessly shrugged. Not like it was any of his business. His main job around here was to help with missions and give out the occasional tour, not be nosy about others.

Swiveling around, he began to walk backwards like some of those tour guides did sometimes. Walk backwards and talk to the tourists, whoopee. “Usually, I’d just point out all the things while we head towards the Mission Department HQ, but since you’re new, I’ll show you all the other boring stuff in here,” he said with a bored wave of his hand.

He curiously glanced at Leon, confused by his question. “Well firstly, you can just call me Arashi, and secondly, if you say so.” Arashi shrugged. “I suppose I should be happy Jacob can string a coherent sentence together, then?” He said this with a serious face.

Another casual wave. “Anyways! If you go down that hall you’ll find the library and going down that hall leads you to the cafeteria,” he said, respectively pointing at them. “Music room that way. Dorms over there. Common room over here. Blah blah blah.”

As the man led them around, Jake laughed easily at his partner's sentiment, and at the guide's reply. Being the a** end of a joke... wasn't really new to him and he'd learn to roll along with it. "I'd be grateful if I were you, imagine if I couldn't, it'd certainly make this tour a lot longer I could tell you that." Smiling, in his slightly cocky manner, he continued on. "But you asked about my age? I'm twenty two. And nope, didn't realize once that I had WEAPON blood. Grew up in the normal kid route, adopted at birth, went to normal school and normal high school, started a normal band, got lit on fire by a rogue pyrotechnic, normally, fell of the stage and was a sword thing by the time I was lodged into the ground." He shrugged carelessly. He knew it was weird, he'd been told several times, mostly by Leon. "Guess I get to play big brother around here huh?"

"Arashi," Leon said quietly from his spot a few paces back. "If you'd show us the missions department, I can make sure that Jacob sees the rest of the school. I'm familiar enough with it by now." It was painfully obvious that the death scythe had better things to be doing. And quite honestly, it'd be easier for all the parties involved if he took it upon himself to do it. "I'm sure you have other duties more pressing than playing tour guide to us."

"Ah no fun Leon!" Jake chided, mentally noting down the places Arashi had pointed out. "I don't want to get stuck with your boring a**! Though I do want to see the missions department, heard the head chick there was hot." Leon groaned out loud at his partners statement. How did he get stuck with such a screw up.

Jacob’s reaction wasn’t all that surprising, really. Arashi figured that the man was that sort of guy. He could tell within the first few moments of their meeting, which brought him to another thought. Would they pair be able to effectively fight with each other? Well, one of them was the weapon and didn’t really do much that was true, but still! If their relationship with each other was strained then matching wavelengths would become difficult. He had seen it happen many times and kids have complained about it to him even more.

“Hey. Mr. Lightfield here is even older than me,” he commented with a sly grin. Well. His life seemed pretty normal. It was true that transforming into WEAPON form for the first time was usually triggered by something dangerous, but that was not always the case, just happened to be the most common reason. “A band, you said? That’s cool. I happen to play the violin myself, as you can obviously see. Got me an electric one, too.” Arashi managed to fondly pat his case.

When Leon kindly offered to show his partner around school, he nearly leapt for joy. He could wrap up this tour earlier than usual. That was great! A wide smile graced his androgynous face. “Alrighty then! By the way, here are the classrooms. I suggest not going to #5 unless, you know, you want to suck on some other person’s face or whatever,” he added with a shrug, gesturing to the side. “Maybe even take a gander into #7. Wait, I’m not supposed to know that. Oh well!”

Continuing to walk backwards, he glanced behind him and smirked. “So here’s where you can accept missions!” He clapped his hands together, finally finished with his duty. Then his eyes lit up and he fished out a piece of paper from his pockets. “By the way, Jacob, this is a map of the place in case you ever forget where things are. Any other questions?”

It started out small, but it grew easily into a rollicking laugh, god he was older than some of the staff, how rich did it get? Like many times before, Jake wondered what the hell he was doing there. Back to school, that was something he'd never really considered, but here he was. And what was worse? Back to high school, he'd passed that the first time around with very decent grades thank you very much. Bah, didn't do to dwell on what shouldn't be changed.

"C'mon, 'mister' makes me sound old. It's Jake." With an appreciative eye, he glanced at the case Arashi gestured to. "Very nice. I've got myself an electric guitar, if you ever want to have a music jam, let me know." It was nice to know that someone at this school had a music bone in them. Maybe he could find enough people to start a band here? Yeah that sounded like a plan! And speaking of plans, he'd have to make some for visiting classroom numbers 5 and 7 later on... well... maybe only 7... guess in a situation like this he was a bit too old for 5.

Leon rolled his eyes, nearly everyone who'd been at the school for a length of time knew about Classroom 7, back alley deals and shady business were the by words there. Not that there was anything wrong with that, he knew that at some point he may have to make use of their services.

As they reached the missions board, the dark haired boy set his eyes to finding a suitable Rank 1 mission for them to undertake. He didn't want to waste any more time, he was already behind since it had taken him so long to find a partner, and who the hell knew why he happened to sync up with this particular one. "No questions." He said distractedly as he looked at a mission in Japan.

"No, I think we're good." Jake finished, accepting the map from Arashi. "Thanks for taking the time to show us around. Let's jam some time? I could use some new music in my blood." Waving his free hand, he opened the map to try and memorize it. He'd show everyone that he wasn't some dumb ******** up. They'd be the best pair in the whole damn school by the time they were through.

“But around here, you are old,” Arashi quietly snickered with a grin. Then he shrugged. “Alright then, Jake! I just may take your offer up someday and I gotta say, making a band would be pretty sweet.”

He crossed his arms and slowly nodded his head, eyes directed toward the ceiling as he imagined about it. “If you ever need an electric violin or something, just call me up.”

Strolling away, the Japanese waved them good-bye. “Yeah, let’s do that!” He slid his hands into the pockets of his jeans and grinned an easygoing grin, looking quite pleased.
