The prompt response that allowed me to be Sengal

Sitting down on a hill side Sengal watches the leaves flow by has face by the blissful wind, again he is reminded of his lost battles, and his negligence at working at improving on anything. After some time facing the breeze and just enjoying the wind that cooled his face he pulled out a sketch book. This was normal for Sengal as he had be slacking off in his training, he had no idea where his life would take him or what he would do for his future. Altaira’s words constantly echoing in his mind “Do you want to gain a profession?”

“Seriously what am I supposed to do with my life, this is so frustrating” Sengal shouted to himself.” After clearing his mind he got to the more important matter at hand, he had to start making the trek back home soon. “I wonder what they will thank of me, I have not done much with my current losses and I still do not know what I am going to tell them when they ask about why I have decided to do.” As he finished his quick backtrack of what had happened recently he though about what he should bring back his family. Realizing his sibling would probably like something brought back to them he decided to draw them a depiction of the mountains over the hillside he was sitting on.

Finishing his drawing he got up and did his ritualistic stretching. “Boy I should probably stop by the market and get some food on my way home.” Turning around all Sengal saw was a long winding dirt road that the merchant often used to get from city to city. This particular road would take him from his current position all the way through the marketplace and them to his house. Leisurely walking along the road he comes across a strange looking person hidden under a dark cloak. Staying a good ways behind the man Sengal questions himself about this guy, is he a adventurer? What was is profession? What could he be doing traveling a road like this? Dismissing all these though he decided just to ignore the man on continue down the path.

Reaching the market after 2 hours of travel, the hooded man never talked to him, he did not even acknowledge Sengals presence. Walking up to a stall that sold bread Sengal questioned the keeper of the stall “How much is the bread.”

“The bread, oh which kind do you want, the white grain, the brown grain, or the slightly old enough to be used as a weapon piece bread. Hell what am I talking about, why does it matter what bread you want you look hardly capable of even having the amount money to purchase it”
As the stall keeper said this the hooded man walked up behind Sengal, he stayed in the shadows the whole time as to not be noticed by the Teoli.

“Here I will pay for a loaf a the white bread.” The hooded figure stated in a calm yet still obviously demanding tone.

The stall keeper hands over the loaf to the hooded figure that Sengal just now realized crept up on him. Disappointed due to the fact that the stall keeper was correct in the statement that he had no money to spend on the delectable break, he wondered what he would give his family upon returning home. Shortly thereafter Sengal decided to fallow the hooded figure. At the end of the market place the person looked at Sengal and hands him the loaf of bread.
“But…But… You really do not have to give me this, I can go get food on my own.” Sengal protested.

Pulling down his hood Sengal could see that like him the man was also a Telio, “I insist I am a adventurer I have enough money to get this and much more, you look like you need this a lot more than I do. My name is Adolfie, I am a wandering traveler around these areas. I am also a sellsword, I sell my services to the people I come across.”

“Wow really I would have never guessed the power you have, you are the people I admire, always doing good and stuff like that. It all is really envious. Well I should really get going to sun is about to go down and I can‘t be late in returning.” Telio darted down the path in great excitement to reach home. He would not stop this time nor would he drop him pace, Telio was determined that he would get home and finally find his place in the world there.

Yelling from behind Adolfie shouts “Remember kid it will not always turn out well, there are great consequences in choosing to go out there in the world, there is more out there than you could fathom.”

Jotting down this new information Sengl runs off down the path with his new loaf of break, the only thing he was thinking of was the look on his family’s face upon his return.

Sengal arriving at his house contemplated whether or not to knock on the door or to just walk in, it was his families house so he saw no problem with it, though he just felt like being a nice guy. He walked up and knocked on the door, hearing soft footsteps Sengal stepped back and waited for the door to open.

“Hey who’s there, we do not get much visitors these days”

Looking awkwardly at the door Sengal yet again contemplates his reply, its been quite some time since he has been home and he wonders what his family will think of him. Moving slowly back to the door his feathers ruffled in the breeze. “Umm it’s me Sengal I’ve been gone quite a while, so how has it been going back here at home.”

Telis opens the door, “Hey you look a bit taller, how has your training been going, I hope it has not been to much for you.” The compassion in Telis’s voice was truly genuine. “Well come in you silly goose this is your home is it not. Our father is on one of his hunting trips right now, we expect him to bring us tonight food.”

Sengal hands the loaf of bread over to Telis. “So how has the family been without me? I would imagine they have not missed me, all I ever did was sit around the house and listen to music or draw pictures.”

“Well you are not entirely right, your younger sisters have really been missing your presense, though they do not like to say it much. Every time I turn around I find them in your old room going trough your stuff, they have even tried drawing at time. You would never have guessed it but your sisters are quite fond of you Sengal.”

“Where are they now” Sengal responded , walking down the corridor he could not help but notice the old family pictures on the wall, all of which had him standing away from the family, he never was that close to them, but they were his family after all. Then he came to the last picture, this picture was the only one that had the whole family in it. In this picture oddly enough everyone was smiling even his mother. Her face was so full of joy and prosperity he forgot for one small moment that she had died and though that this picture was real. Shaking off his fantasy he remembered all his failures in training. “I will look for your guidance mom,” he muttered to himself.

“Huh did you say something Sengal?” Telis asked.

“No, it was nothing, I was only remember what Mother used to do for us all the years ago.” Sengaly said softly.

“Those were good times, they were when this family was at its closest. Hey I think I hear your sisters coming in, they sure will be happy to see you.”

All four of the sisters run down the hall in unison, They look up at Sengal and their eyes widen. One of them goes, “Who are you?” The other ones all look at her with a disjointed look on their face. The older set of twins steps aside from the other two and tug on Sengal’s clothes. “Sengal! Sengal! You have come back! We’ve missed you lots, what’s been happening. Tell us! Tell us!”

“Well I’ve been doing a lot of training, though its not as I had planned. I did bring you something though.” Sengal dipped his left hand into his sack, he pulled out the picture he had drawn back on the hillside, by now though the picture had crumpled a bit in the bag. Looking at the picture he remembers the sereneness of the hillside and the flowing breeze, how he whishes he could just live out his life in the calmness. Sengal proceeded to hand the 4 girls his depiction of the hillside. The girls used to always love his drawings. But he did not expect a big commotion over the small piece of paper.

All four of the girls went frantic over the picture, the brawl looked like 4 small mice fighting over the last sunflower seed just without the clawing and biting. Quarrelling the girls fought around the corner and disappeared in the darkness of their rooms.

Sengal and Telis talked way into the night talking about what they had been doing and how Sengal had progressed through his life. When Sengal finally asked about their father and why he had not come back yet. Discussing the topic they came to the final conclusion that he was still out on his hunting trip. Sengal also told Telis that he had to be going the next morning and only stopped by to tell them of what had happened during his travels. Sengal slept their that night and left back to his training ground the next day with a new found confidence in himself, not only had he remembered the joy that came with family, we had talked to a real adventurer and found out some vital information on his progression in life.

Quest - Gone Fishing

Sengal Sits down in front of a sycamore tree and plops out his journal and sketch book from his bag. Sengal had had a long eventful day with fish of all things he had to be working with fish. Sengal went to write some stuff down then looked quizzically at his hands. For some odd reason he had no pencil, rummaging his bag he tossed out many things including not of which would help him write let alone draw. At the very bottom of his sack he found his set of pencils both writing and drawing. Sengal put ever item carefully back into his bag and sat down again this time with his mind on writing. His first sentence was "Today I had to go fishing..."

That day had started with a crazy turn of events, Sengal had ran off to the cooks place after he had heard that the cook needed some help. Sengal did not know what the cook needed he just wanted some work, not only was he bored, but his family had instilled a new hope in his attitude, he was determined to get some stuff actually done in his life.

Sengal walked up to the cooks door and knocked. “Hey who is at the door! I have not called for a ingredient delivery today.” A voice behind the door called. “Mr. Cook I heard that you needed some help with things at the shop.” Sengal replied hiding behind the door. “His voice its just so scary and loud, I don‘t like loud things.” he thought.

“Well I need someone to bring me some fish, without fish I can’t make my dish for the banquet tonight. If I do not make the banquet I just know the people will hurt me, but that’s why I need you! You will help me get some fish, actual all I need is one fish. Now go and don’t come back until you get me a fish!” All this was said without even opening the door, Sengal started to wonder just how sane the cook was, and sulked in the corner for a while due to the overwhelming loud voice of the cook.”

“Mr. Cook please be a little quieter your voice hurts my ears. I beg you I will get your fish only if you talk quieter.” With that Sengal just crawled away from the door hoping the cook would not reply. If he heard anything louder he would break out in a nervous breakdown.

Sengal decided to head towards the lake at the edge of town. Before he left he rented a fishing rod and hook from the local stores. Walking up to the dark blue waters of the lake Sengal cast his hook and sat down. This was one of Sengal’s favorite places, there was not a sound to be heard but the sweet splashing of lake waves on the shore. The utter peacefulness started to put Sengal to sleep, but when his fishing pole started to violently shake he got up and started to pull vigorously to catch the fish.

The fishing rod turned left and right up and down shaking Sengal all over the place. The only thing Sengal could do was to plant his feet and try to reel in the fish. Without knowing it Sengal let go of the reel and it spun vigorously in a counter-clockwise direction. Muscling up all the strength he has ever had Sengal spins the reel. As the spot on the water gets ever so close to him, the joy that doing this job came to him. He was not going to be beaten bye a mere fish!

The fish was in a whole other world. Midlessly swimming through the lake the fish smelled something that caught its attention. It kind of smelled like a sea worm, but it had a warmer hint to it. The fish found the strange other worldly worm. It pecked it with its mouth and then decided to bite it with full force. Upon biting down the fish went berserk there was this thing stuck in it, it did not know what to do so it recklessly swam here and there almost hitting a rock once or twice.

“Ha I will finally catch a fish, this will be great. Although there seems to be something I’m forgetting about.” The last moment in the tug-of-war battle was a splash, literally a splash, the fish pulled so hard that Sengal was thrown into the water onto of the watery beast. “Yeah I was able to do it.” Sengal put the fish in a bag and run back to the cook, with a new jump in his step almost like something had been restored to him.

“Mr. Cook! Mr. Cook! I got your fish, you can have you banquet. Look look this fish is huge.” Although Sengal thought he was yelling it was not that loud. “Why thank you. No I don’t have to worry about taking out the frozen fish.” Sengal handed the cook the fish and went back to his corner. “ I wonder how Altaira is doing.” He though to himself.
