Now religion has a strong essance in National socialism in my opinion on there views such as Racial purity.

1 of the many Reasons why National socialists hated the jews was the Book of Genesis, it states that giants came down and mated with Jewish women. The Aryans were a race of giants until they mated with Jews.

This is what they believed in. Now me this is why i believe

"religion is Opium for the masses" Karl marx

Because it is used as a weapon which it always is used in my opinion.

I agree, religion can be used as a weapon and very often, is. Some Christians create and use the fear of "Satan" to get the blindly following masses to "behave" by their standards. Not all Christians do this, mind. I'm simply saying that a great many of the Christians I've come across use Satan and Hell to get me to become afraid and convert. I'm also saying that there a lot of very nice, open-minded, tolerant Christians. And those are the ones I tend to become friends with.

And I'm rambling. Did I make sense? sweatdrop

Yes, religion can be used as a weapon. So can science. Hitler's beliefs had just as much to do with his misuse of science as with his misuse of religion. There are plenty of people that try to justify eugenics with both; we shouldn't blame either.

Okay. Tali-Butt is a Christian. Something that I've learned in the church I go to now is that we're not here to judge. We let others be others and occasionally try to witness to him and most of the time without even bringing up God. We just be the best we can be. Being baptist, it's kinda odd, but we don't have a set belief on "you have to be or do this and you'll go to heaven and if you don't, you'll go to hell". We just let God handle it because we don't know what it is he's looking for. It doesn't matter your faith or whatever. Faith is only personal preferance. There's no right or wrong answer that we know of. As it says in the bible somewhere (New Living Translation I believe) If you judge people, you're going to get judged the same way. ((Which yes, that does mean that it's not a requirement to read the bible all the time and memorize it although it is suggested that keep some of it in mind so we know what we're doing.)) So before you steriotype Christians as a bunch of snotty hypocrites, consider what I have said and remember that none of us at least here claim to be perfect.

Religion is a framework for looking at existance, usually with a set of rules or guidelines to make one a model citizen. As one can neither prove or disprove it's truth, it is not merely an opiate, but another theory with as much potential as any other. The only reason I am non-religious over religious is that it is the default position if one has not been swayed either way. A thing does not exist until there is reason to believe it does.

i'm an Anarcho-Socialist, so yeah, i'm not really down with religon in general. I used to be religous, so i can understand the need for people to justify thier existance...

Its just a shame that people have to use orgainzied religon, anarchy and socialist would make the world such a better place!

Relgion is like a rifle or a bow and arrow...It CAN be used for good and if interpreted right, can lead people to lead a good life, but unfortunately human nature will ruin this as nobody seems to stick to their religion, as most do state that you should basically respect others, and treat others as you wold want to be treated. So religion is used as a weapon.

Personally I believe we have reached a time inhuman civilisation where religion now hinders us, and that it is the cause of most hatreds and so most problems in our societies.
There is a saying that I belive in, and will not be liked by many Americans.
"Civilisation will never obtain perfection untill the last stone of the last templ falls ontop of the last priest." (could someone find out who said that?).

Religion CAN compliment science(as Science is about Faith just as much as religion). If religion is interpreted right. But human nature and ignorance, aswell as people following what they are told blindly without using their GOD given intelligence to keep an open mind. Will continue to stop any form of harmony unless those (which fortunately is most of the world) stands up to those few that live in fear.
