i think i like the series better than the movie i don't know maybe because i saw one first and when it got to the movie all the characters looks had changed a bit too much for my tastes.

i pretty much think everyone will like the anime better then the movie because the was just off.

yeah, i think the same, the serie out long before that the film. But the film have other concept that the serie with folken now control all gaea and dilandu is completely a man. I do not like much that concept.

I liked them both really.
But I liked the series more.
It had all of the characters and made more sense.

It probably all depends on which one you see first. But I do like the series better as we get more character development and interaction in the series.
There are also several manga series out which led me at one point to wonder which 'version' was the true version. The first ya' know.
Thankfully, the series came first, and everything else followed after. ^~^

I like the series better but the movie on it's own, without comparing it to the anime is pretty good.
the story-lines are rather different from each other and if you can look at them separate from the other then you might see they're both really good.
And yeah it is annoying how the style they were in changed so much from the anime series to the movie... and how the characters them selves seemed to change so much too... well thats what i think when i compare the anime to the movie... and the anime is much better heart

I prefer the series.
The movie is good but the character development is poor, I don't think the animation is as good as everyone says, Van's crazy, Hitomi is depressing, lost her personality and has no actual reason to be in Gaia because by the end of the movie it's suggested Sora was the wing goddess all along, not her. Escaflowne is gross throwing blood everywhere when it transforms, there's only two guymelef in the movie and it's not really that cool when they fight (the lack of mecha action is specially lame considering the movie was supposed to focus in the action rather than story telling)
