This is a place to post questions and confusions concerning Crosshaven, the setting, the site, or any other aspect of the game.

To Crew: Please use the "Edit" button to place your answer on the question post. That saves space, and makes it easy for people to find answers.

Example:

I have a question, why is Crosshaven called Crosshaven?

*Blasphemi Answers: Because we thought that calling it "Pornville" would get us all banned.

*Nathanael answers: The Cross represents a point at the center of a compass, the axis of four directions. The Haven represents the fact that Crosshaven was founded to be a sanctuary for the gifted.

Ohhh, i have a question because i am very inquisitive...
can we make an rpthread that clearly states that no one can post in it except me you know to get a sort of story to start with my character.

Nathanael: Sure you can, just clearly state that you want no one to post, in the title of the thread and your first post. I'll delete the posts of people who post on it accidentally.

Ok xd

I know that everyones playing it by ear about reserving for towns, but where are we aiming to be? Should I just wait till yall place stuff first, or just jump in a random place and maybe not have a house. Its not really needed for my char...

Fauntine: You guess is as good as mine. I want to reserve a spot...but we have to wait for nathanael to pick one......Unless I go ahead and scout zips out....

I have no clue. I guess we wait for Nate.

Nate: The reservation system turned out to be a bust; you can't reserve neighborhoods in proximity to each other. So now we are waiting to place Crosshaven in a remote place, an area of the map that hasn't opened up yet (I don't know where, because I don't know what will be made available.)

I would rather you wait so that you can place your house with us, and there will be "saved slots" to move into. But you don't absolutely have to. You can always relocate your house later for a price.

The_Errand_Girl: It really all depends on whether or not you want to have your house with the rest of us, and whether or not you want to pay to relocate later.

What is the backup plan if we never come across enough room to reserve for cross haven...and when are you fixing the room preview pictures?

The_Errand_Girl: I don't know if there is a contingency plan. But I doubt we need one. I must point out that the devs promised there would be enough room for all to place a home when Towns opens, and also point out that on the Reservations map there isn't NEARLY enough room for the entirety of Gaia's population. The reasonable assumption would be that there are going to be a great number of map sections added when Towns opens, with the Reservations people crowded up in the northwest corner. If that doesn't happen, then I'm not sure there could be a backup plan other than just RP here on the forums and wait for the off chance that another Town will open up.

Nate: The room preview pictures still aren't working for some people? I'll just have to upload all the graphics to a new server. I'll do it when I can.

We'll have enough room for Crosshaven. In the exceedingly rare off chance that the admins decide to be evil, and for some unknown reason decide never to open up enough space for us, then we can pummel the admin with letters, and urge them to accomodate our RP, while RPing in the guild forum until they do so.

But I seriously doubt we should worry about that.

out of shear curiosity, geographicly, where is crosshaven. feel free to just say 'not tellin XP' or sumthin

The_Errand_Girl: Hmmm... I'm going to take a wild guess on this and say it'd likely be near to Barton Town, a bit to the southwest. So let's say southwest of Barton, southeast of Durem, but closer to Barton.

But only Nate could say how right or wrong I may be. 3nodding

Nate: I would say you are exactly right. Wow, I'm begining to think you're a mind reader. whee

Do you have guild banners for signatures? I'd make one, myself, if I knew how...
I like showing my affiliation. smile Though, if somebody wanted to make a WTMI banner, that'd be awesome. wink

Nate: There is a banner at the bottom of the "Guild Home" page that you can use, and Blasphemi's working on new sig banners that should be out soon.

Blasphemi: I'll do a WTMI banner when I get a chance, got any ideas for it?

Hm... I've got ideas for at least three. One for the Morning Mayhem Show. One with "WTMI: The sound of variety in Crosshaven Society". And one for your show, Blasphemi. wink

Do you have a town set up, somewhere on Gaia Towns?

Sarah Kirk: Not yet. We are waiting for a final release of towns in which hopefully more maps will be made available and a better reservation system since the one that is in place right now does not let you reserve zip codes close to one another, the process being a completely random. Right now the crew has been running test on towns to see how it will work for us under different scenarios. But don't worry we are working on it and will hopefully have it all set up for you real soon.

Nate: We will probably have a temporary town up before too terribly long. That is, if the reservation system cooperates when the new maps are released.

Got sledgehammer? wink

What religions are present in crosshaven out of curiosity. Is there really only one or are there the plethera that we find in the normal world or maybe something in between?

The_Errand_Girl: The most prominent in Crosshaven seems to be the Church of the Saints, which appears to me a melding of many different religions and holds their various prophets in high regard. I'm sure Nate can tell you more about it. Other than that we seem to have people of various religions in our town.

Fauntine: Well, I thought the Church of all Saints represented christianity for the most part, but then again, I may be wrong. However, it seems that many religions are making subtle appearances here or there, so don't worry if you have one of your own that you want to play. smile

Nate: The Church of the Saints practices a version of Christianity somewhat based on Catholocism. But it has a lot of inclusive, Unitarian attributes.

Many characters practice nature spirituality (Like Nate, Dorien Cross, Rose, Fauntine).

The Church of the Saints and the nature spirituality seem to be the predominant two religions, and they seem to work together peaceably for the most part. Of course, there are numerous religions, virtually anything that exists in the real world, and players are free to RP fictional religions, even establish traditions of fictional religions.

(As a note, these organizations are developing as they go along.)

As a plot creator, I will not answer questsions like "where a character goes when he dies" except, of course, metaphorically. These religious questions are up to individual interpretation.

It's obviously all right for one player to play two characters. I hear that The Errand Girl is that Kalamari person.

Sarah Kirk: Yes it is ok for people to play two characters insofar as it helps to move your or some other plot line along. If you are going to play it through a mule it is al right as well but remember it will be treated as a regular resident of Crosshaven so it's arcane power has to be approved by the crew. You can either send a join request or PM a crew member for more information.

She's already a member. smile

Yes, but each seperate character has to be approved, unless you're crew.

Well, that's why I applied for her character, before I started posting with her. wink

When Crosshaven is placed in Towns will we have to dress our avatars to look like the people we are playing?

The_Errand_Girl: Like the Forum RP, that will be entirely optional. You can if you want to, but you don't have to.

Nate: There will never be a requirement to dress your av like your character, but you may want to put a pic in your sig, for when people ask what your character looks like.

Sarah Kirk: Also there is also a thread in the guild called Crosshaven Galleria where you can put up art of your character for everyone to see what he looks like.

Is there anybody still here?

Or is everybody stuck in school, and the like?

Hollywood Freak: If you look at the dates of entries you will see that people are here. However with schedules getting tight due to college exams for some, work for others, it can get hard to update as much.

I haven't been on much lately personally, but now that my exams are over, I have more free time. Sorry about that.
