Hey there everyone! Jennie-Ennie brought up a good point - there should be a place on this guild where people can ask any Disney related question they have, not only ones about attractions, so here's that spot!
Post any questions you may have about anything Disney related, and I'll try to find an answer for you! Of course, any one can jump in with any information they may have, because the more conversation we can generate, the better!

So here's a question I took from the other thread to start us off:Jennie-Ennie QUESTION: i've heard this an im not sure if its just a rumor or true, do you know: I've heard that in every Disney movie there is an owl, because when Walt was young he accidently shot an owl an was sorry.. so ya..

Well I can say, i have never seen an owl in the lion king, although i never looked for one. I will have to take a peak when i get the time.
If there is one, it is probably hidden somewhere in the throngs of animals during Cirlce of life and the presentation of Kopa. Yes, Kopa, as Kiara is not the lion presented at the end of the Lion king. I did research a while back. Simba's first child was a male, named Kopa. Thus, his over-protectiveness of Kiara, Kopa obviously died.

Ya, with the original release of the lion king they released a 6 part kid book series about things that happen between LK and LKII:SP. Book 4 or 5, the only one that mentions Kopa, Zazu tells Kopa the story of how Taka got the name Scar. It never does say how Kopa dies though, i kind of want to know.
Anyone notice that I'm human?

From what I found, I'm guessing that owls may not make an appearance in all Disney movies, but that they are in quite a few of them.
"Though it is a different Owl in each Disney movie, sometimes male and sometimes female, there is a pattern to the Disney myth of wisdom, a sleepy almost grumpy maturity, and a deep compassionate heart." That fits any owl I've ever seen in a Disney movie! http://www.lov-e.com/Disney14.html

Well, they are common in the stories, but "Fox and the Hound" was supposed to have a crow except the voice actress didn't like the idea and so they chose an owl instead. Winnie the Pooh has one, but that was in the original story too which had nothing to do with Disney back then. biggrin
