I like listening to the French-from-France in song. It sounds like an entirely different language when compared to Canadian French. I find that Mireille Mathieu does a fantastic job. She has such a beautiful voice. heart
I love languages too! The ones at the top of my list are Japanese, and the Latin languages (French, Spanish, and Italian), followed closely by High German. 3nodding

Japanese was on the top of my list. ^^; German now. I learned some Latin in grade 10, but I've forgotten most of it, same with French. I want to learn Irish Gaelic too eventually, and Russian.

I love languages too! heart whee heart I wish I could live long enough to learn all of the world's languages! That would be so awesome! biggrin
Oh! There's another language I wish I could learn - the Elven language that was written for The Lord of the Rings. It's sounds so beautiful! ^_^

It is possible to learn it! You have to teach yourself though... unless there's a place somewhere that actually offers it. I've been teaching myself a few things here and there. It really is quite beautiful. There's a lot of similarities to the Gaelic languages.

I occassionally speak Drowish, which is a different form of elvish. I quite enjoy the looks on peoples faces when I talk to them like that. blaugh

I was learning Drow a while back too actually. Had a website bookmarked... I need to find that.
I was also learning Sindarin. :B In fact my name on Gaia and on most places around the 'net are Sindarin...

It certainly is. Doesn't quite flow as well as other Elven languages.

Halloween 2004 was the last Halloween that I would be able to spend with my friends in High School, so we decided to go crazy and dress up as drow! We all spent the night before at my place, and woke up at 6:00AM in the morning to paint ourselves black. We really only did our faces and necks, because we found clothing to cover our arms and hands. So we went to school, and you would not believe the looks we were getting as we strode down the main hallway, all arrogant and drow-like.
Over the course of the day, we got lots of 'what are you?'s. One student asked if we were mocking black people. Another asked if we were burn victims. It was quite hilarious. But we won Best Costumes in the school, and also, when we went out trick-or-treating that night, we won Best Halloween Spirit in the whole of Consort! Such fun! It is definitely a day I'll never forget!
