Wall Shadow was incredibly disgruntled by this time, but then she froze in fear upon hearing the Detective's threats. The only good thing, she thought, was that her bag was nowhere in sight. She must have sropped it at the station, and she didn't think that the police had found it, so her normal clothes and that scrapbook were not in their grasp.

Oh, sure, interrogate me first...

"On what grounds, sir, do you say that? Because if you have a legitimate reason to put me away and I can't defend myself properly, I'll even go quietly. However, if you're trying to arrest me and I CAN get myself out of it, but you try to lock me away, I will warn you up front: I will NOT go quietly," she warned, fighting to keep the nervousness she felt out of her voice.

"Kidnapping, assault, battery, malice?" she sneered, amazed, through all of her nerves, that he could be so dense to think that she had done this.

"We didn't kidnap him, we planned on finding out why he wanted the stupid urn and letting him go... to YOU GUYS. Assault? Well, even if we did, it was justified, he was definitely being difficult and he made Eagle Eye crack to the point of using physical force. Battery? Sir, with all due respect, the only battery I've even thought of using to my advantage is in my CD player right now. Malice? Well, malice goes to the malicious, and if there is one thing, aside from difficult, that Stone is, it's malicious. So, please, get it through your law-enforcing head that neither Eagle Eye nor I are the bad guys," Wall Shadow defended, trying to suppress the nerves, and now rage, that she was feeling, almost ready to explode. If this didn't work, she was in deep trouble. But, if, by luck, this did work, she and Eagle Eye would be in the clear again.

Meanwhile, in another wing of the Crime, Justice, and Citizens Hospital building, Police Commissioner Jane Gorgon was on the phone. "Not only is he free of charge, but Subject 3 is in the building right now as well, being cared for by our finest. When he's better, we'll..."
She was cut off by the rough voice on the other line, "... let him free?!?" She was incredulous. After all the effort rounding up this man, now they were just letting him go. And all because he "wasn't angry enough yet," whatever the hell that meant. Ah well, she rationalized, it was his money anyways. "Okay then, Mik, what about the other two... mine? Excellent. Let's see if this great and powerful league will stoop to bribery-er, not to offend your morals, sir." She smiled wickedly, and decided to pay off her gambling debts with her new earnings. She had her secretary deliver identical notes to both Tubbins and Cochise, grabbed a silver briefcase that looked like it could just be bulging with cash, and drove to the Dealmore Casino.

"What the hell?" Wall Shadow asked, now not even bothering to hide the fear in her voice.

Damn it! And even if I could get out of here... damn, it's not like I can do much without getting caught. I hate this!!!

"We're not the bad guys here! Besides, Eagle Eye's saved my a** twice, and I only met him yesterday; he wouldn't confess to me being the mastermind, you filthy liars! And what happened to the one phone call, huh?"

As Eagle Eye was being carried away, Cochise received a text message. In response, he went to the Computer Crime Lab.

In these days of high tech ubiquity, the Delmor police separate their evidence for analysis. Computer or Technology evidence went to the Computer Crime Lab. Cochise had a buddy from the Academy in here who was also working the case.

Cochise asked of the detective, "What do you got for me?"

"This is the security video from the museum." The detective played the video in slow motion. "Notice anything strange?"

Cochise inspected the screen, "No, I don't see anything."

"Take a look at the floor."

"It looks normal to me."

"OK, now take a look at these glasses," the detective zoomed in on the glasses. The footage was digital, so the image was pixellated."

"Is that a mohawk?"

"Maybe, but it doesn't look like Austin Aires' hair."

"So take a look at the floor again. Do you see this noise in the image?"

"Isn't that just a result of the format."

"That's what I thought at first. But then I isolated the shape of the noise." The detective punched in some keys and the noise on the floor became more pronounced.

"It's a shadow!"

"Quite possibly."

Just then, Tubbins entered the lab. Cochise and his friend fell silent. Tubbins and Cochise didn't like each other. "They don't teach you that in the books. Eh, Rook?" Cochise has been on the force for 3 years but Tubbins still calls him a rookie.

"Can't say they do."

"Those two punk kids will be squealing in no time."

"Well, I'll see you two later. The Challenger is coming out of the shop today."

Cochise stepped out as Tubbins sat on the other detective's desk.

Stone wore scrubs. The hospital had disinfected his clothes, but the process made them look awful. He was checking himself out of the hospital, against the best wishes of its staff. Stone gave the receptionist a fake address. When it came to signing forms, he marked them with an "X." Finally, the receptionist asked him his name. Upon hearing this question, he turned and walked out the door a free man.

He wasn't one to question his good fortune. After all, he was very much a criminal; yet, he had could only assume that Eagle Eye and that girl were behind bars at the moment.

There was, of course, one thought that repeated through his mind. Those two had better pray that they never be released.

Crystal Isis stared at this officer.
"This isn't a joke. Can't a superhero come speak to one of her allies?" Crystal Isis asked. Crystal Isis realized that Wall Shadow was her ally. Would he think of her as a criminal or let Wall Shadow go since Crystal Isis is a hero.
