05/10/10: And we're back and attempting to kick the shops back alive again! A new auction and free raffle has started for some Final Fantasy VII based pets, and we've also updated the cert (and banners and stuff will soon change as well). Hooray for revamps! (and evolutions are coming soon too)
05/06/17: Well. I guess it's nice of Gaia to stop the migration crap and allow the editing of the front page again .. although, due to the new forum system upgrades/updates/whatnot, quite a few things related to this shop have been lost .. among which includes the flatsale thread for the chikorita (and others), and the moltres auction thread. For a long time, pokemon and humans have lived and coexisted with one another with little to no problems.

That all changed, though, with the creation of a group that sought to seek world domination and to achieve it through the usage of pokemon. With no regards as to what those around them - and especially not the pokemon - felt, they began their plans . . .

Innocent pokemon were snatched up and underwent a series of different experiments in this group's attempt to construct an undefeatable army consisting of nothing but pokemon. If one were to die, it was tossed aside as if it were nothing, and a new one would take its place.

The pokemon that did survive ended up being forced to bred and create new pokemon . . . pokemon that were, naturally, more dark and sinister than their parents. These ones were darker colours than their predessors, and had an evil gleam in their eyes.

Branded and treated as nothing more than a tool in their master plans, the 'dark' pokemon had no chance to experience the love and compassion that others of their kind did. Stuck within their cells or training facilities, no taste of freedom was given.

With the achievement of creating pokemon whose altered and mutated genes made them more 'dark', the sceientistss moved on to other projects . . . and soon there were rumours that there had been a successful creation of hybrids. But the experiments didn't stop there . . .

With Dark Eevee being their main test subject, due to its abnormal genes, the scientists managed to achieve the darker versions of Umbreon and Espeon - Lunareon and Solareon. Both could be achieved through the usage of Moon and Sun Stones, respectivelly . . .

There were more rumours that a leaf evolution of Eevee had also been achieved, along with new evolutions to those pokemon thought to be unable to evolve further . . .

In silence, a group - quite small, considering that its numbers were just two - worked throughout the days and nights in an attempt to come up with a plan to infiltrate one of the nearest training facilities of the dark pokemon. With just the two of them, it would be difficult, but . . . both were determined.

And so, with their own beloved pokemon, the two set out in the dead of night and somehow managed to succeed in their plans.

But both knew that there was no way they could tame the dark pokemon on their own. But they also knew that there had to be a way in order to calm the evil and darkness that filled them . . .

The breaking and disregard for the following rules can (and more than likely) will result in grey/blacklisting.

Rules might be subject to change in the future.

- First and foremost - Do not, under any circumstance, steal/alter/claim any of the images. This same goes with concepts/ideas.
- Do not PM us in regards to availability nor getting of pokemon. This includes PMing the mule (PokeGenesis).
- Keep in mind the golden rule: treat others as you, yourself, would like to be treated in return; fighting/arguing/harrassing of others in the thread will not be tolerated.
- Use common sense. This means no posting content over the PG13 rating, among other things.
- No advertising.
- Co-owning is not allowed.
- Posting/RPing is not required, although encouraged. Not to mention that those who are active in this thread might be more eligible for 'special' events.
- PATIENCE. We have lives outside of Gaia and the internet in general . . . honest.
- Direct-linking is fine until the pokemon hatches (in the case of breedings) Otherwise, please save onto your own image host/servers. This is due to the fact that it'd take a while for any pokemon to evolve, and thus it's easier just to have trainers re-save all updated certificates.

- Can I have one?
Sure you can!

- How much do these cost?
Varies. Flatsale prices can be up to 3k (3000g) max, and there's never a set idea on how much auctions will go for.
- How many can I own?
Right now, the max pokemon one trainer can have is six. This might change in the future.
- Do you take customs?
Yup. Although it might be a bt pricey for most people . . .
- How about pet trades?
Yes and no. We're open to all offers, although we tend to be picky about the ones we accept. <_<;
- Hey! My pokemon was supposed to evolve at so-and-so level! How come s/he hasn't?!
Uhm. Have you bothered reading the information on evolving one's pokemon? If not, I suggest you do. It might prove to be very helpful in answering your question. biggrin
- You have Eevee. Cool! But considering that happiness affects its evolution to Umbreon/Espeon, can I still . . . ?
Yup. But considering how difficult it is to evolve Eevee into either of its two happiness-affected evolutions in the games, it'd be just as difficult here. More information on happiness evolutions can be found in the evolution post. :3
- Can I be on the staff??
There's no need for additional staffers. We're just fine on our own. ^^;

Flatsales

- Flatsales can be held at any time, although warning will be given some time in advance. They can be based on speed, or on responses to a given RP prompt.
- General price is 1k (1000g) for most pokemon, although that might change depending on how rare (or, in some cases, how difficult/complex it was for Zoo to draw) it is.
- Purchasing a pokemon for someone else (ie. friend) is allowed, although in doing so the user forfeits his or her chance to get one in the same flatsale.
- The flatsale does not officially start until either Chibizoo or Atarashii post (in big, bolded and red wink font!
- Five minutes before the set flatsale time, a post will be made declaring that there's five minutes to go. No one is to post afterwards, so that everyone can see the 'go' post.
- DO NOT EDIT YOUR REQUEST POST! This is considered cheating, and if someone is caught doing so, he or she will be blacklisted. No ifs, ands or buts.
- Do not send trades until the final winners are announced.
- One pokemon per person, per flatsale.

Like stated in the general guidelines, RPing is not required . . . but even so, it's one of the factors Pokemon Genesis focuses on the most. This doesn't mean that trainers have to create journals (although they can if they want to, I guess) for all RPing can be done here in the thread.

When RPing, please keep in mind the following guidelines specific to such. Breaking of them can result in some sort of punishment.

- Keep all content PG13.
- When talking outside of an RP post, please use some form of indication that you're OOC (out of character). This can be done by use of ((. . .)) or [. . .]
- Please make certain that all posts are legible (to the best of your abilities)
- No god-modding.

Some other things which need to be addressed (recommended that all people read over this, too)

- There are no evil/bad organisations outside of 'The Facility'. Yes, this means no Team Rocket, Team Magma, etc. It's alright to have a character that has an evil/bad persona, though . . . as long as s/he makes no claims to be part of The Facility.
- No one is allowed near or in The Facility save for authorised personnel.

Although Pokemon Genesis focuses on actual RPing and such interactions over battling, leveling still is an important factor . . . considering that most pokemon evolve when reaching a certain level. And so, this section is geared towards informing trainers on how they can go about leveling up their beloved pokemon.

Each pokemon starts off at level 5, and through various means, more levels can be gained:

- Automatically: 1 level / 2 days (active)
- Automatically: 1 level / 4 days (non-active)
- Rare Candy: 1 level / purchase

Trainers can keep track of their pokemon's current level through the trainer's list.

First off, pokemon can and do evolve in Pokemon Genesis. But, it is a privilege and must be earned . . . after all, what's the point in going through the trouble when someone just waltzes in and then waltzes out, never to return?

Now, most pokemon evolve upon reaching a certain level. In the case of a trainer who is active in the thread, then he or she has nothing to worry about, because their pokemon will evolve without problems (unless the trainer doesn't wish us to)

But, for the trainer who comes in, gets a pokemon and rarely (if ever) comes back to the thread . . . he or she must request, once their pokemon is of an eligible level, to have it evolve into its next stage. Please realise that if you're inactive, your pokemon's evolution is considered of lowest priority over everything else.

Onto the other forms of evolution, now . . .

Evolution Stones: The minimum level in which a pokemon who evolves through means of a stone can be evolved at is 25. Once it is at that level (or higher), all the trainer has to do is purchase the needed evolution stone and wait for the pokemon to evolve. Simple, isn't it?

Happiness: As I'm sure most of us know, evolving a pokemon through means of happiness is somewhat difficult (and long . . . and tedious . . .) in the game. In an attempt to keep true with that, evolving a pokemon through happiness in this shop is somewhat difficult as well. Pretty much, being active is needed in order to raise a pokemon's happiness. Happiness is kept track through means of a 'happiness meter', which has a max of 255, and can be raised through different means.

- Posting: 1 / non-spam post
- RPing: 5 / post (more than one line)

Maximum that the meter can rise in a day is 25.

Items: The whole idea of evolving pokemon who can just be evolved through trading with an item attatched isn't as difficult as one might think it to be. For such pokemon, trainers can 'trade' the pokemon temporarily (with the held item needed) with the shop. The pokemon will be 'traded' back once it's evolved.
