I’m proud to declare the first issue of The Weekly Gwee a success. We have some great writers and some awesome artists working here, and we hope you have as much fun reading this as we did making it. We’ve worked really hard to get this done on time to ensure that it becomes a true weekly newspaper and we hope that you’ll rate us up and advertise for us.
This is actually our only public issue that there will be, we released this in the hopes that you would enjoy it enough to subscribe to our next versions. This forum will then be used as mere advertisement. To subscribe, you merely need to open a trade with myself with the title “Weekly Gwee”. The smallest subscription you can make is 3 weeks, or 3 issues, for 50 gold. We hope you enjoy this issue, as it is our first, and we hope to hear from you again.




A lot of stuff came out this week. First of all, FUNimation has been nice enough to grant Gaia a showing of two full episodes of the Anime show Suzuka. Then Nancy Drew quests finish up as the movie has now hit theaters. But don’t worry those of you who haven’t done the quests. You can still do them to get the cool detective pouch.
Seeking to not ruin the hype of movies and animes, Gaia was kind enough to advertise yet another anime show. Tsubasa Volume 2, episodes 6-8 are now for sale. Now our friends at Gaia wouldn’t just advertise something in the announcements without immediate rewards for us impatient players, so they set up a quiz for it. Pass and you’ll win a cool prize, Syaroran’s Cloak! It’s an easy 3 question quiz, so it shouldn’t be too much trouble.
Wait, we’re still going. Seems Gaia has given us some fun little contests to occupy ourselves with. The popular magazine Shojo Beat is looking for a new “Beat Girl” and artists all over Gaia are picking up their crayons. Only the best artist will win the 100,000 gold grand prize and have their picture plastered over the magazine! Then there’s one that even the less-artistic can do. A film festival! Now I love making movies with my camera, the problem is, I DON’T HAVE A CAMERA. For those of you who do, enter the contest and write to me about it, I’d love to see your videos!
The Monthly Collectibles are finally here, but I’ll let my friend cho get more into that. You’ve waited so long for them and, OOOPS, the admins made a booboo and you can’t wear them. Ha, but that was sorted out really quick, way to go Gaia!
Wow, that was a lot of writing! Let’s give a cheer to Gaia for doing all that in one week to better improve our lives. Wait a minute, we’re sitting at the computer reading this… we don’t have lives!

Cinema Reviews!

Suzuka follows the story of Yamato, a country bumpkin who transfers to a new school in big city. Being a new kid in a new school can be ruff but when he finds himself attracted to the school’s beautiful track star, Suzuka, things seem to get even more complicated.

The overall story plot it very well thought out. It allows anyone to relate to it. The animations are spectacular. Susuka is not the typical female drawing. She is more regular. The voices did not match the characters hardly at all. Yamato sounds girlish and almost like he is gay. Nothing ageist that but if the main character is supposed to be in love with this girl, he shouldn’t sound like one. I hated the nudity scene in the showers. Even though they did not show EVERYTHING, I found it to be out of taste. My favorite part of this whole thing is when you find out Suzuka’s secret fear. It shows that she truly is not perfect. She has problems just like ordinary people.

Unlike other animations that I have seen, this one is more relatable for the audience. There are no silly fighting scenes with superheros and such things. I found it enjoyable but if I were able to turn the channel, I would have.

Opinion

Rio: "Recently a Mythrill Halo was released to commemorate the anniversary of the Dark Halo and the Angelic Halo, plus it is the 100th collectible. As a matter of opinion, do you think this new Halo will do as well or better than it's ancestors over it's life span in the exchange, or will it blow up in our faces like that April Prank?"

Sunburned Zebra:... I think it won't do nearly as well as the angelic halo, but will do better than the dark halo. my opinion.

_searas_: I think that it'll fizzle out to below 10k like last months collectibles because there are too many on the market. Too much supply, and after next month's items come out the demand will be less, and that's when the prices should start to fall. At least, that's my guess.

Aritzea: Well, I know that angelic and demon halo's are very common but the mythrill halo is a different story. Who has ever heard such thing! But, it is very creative. I think it will do better than it's ancestors because the mythrill halo is cheaper than it's ancestors and tons of Gaians want halos on their dream avatars so instead maybe for example they replace it with the mythrill halo like I'm doing. I was questing for the angelic halo until this halo came up and it was so cheap to buy so now I replaced it with this one. Still though, it can be used for a prank but not much because you can recognize the color. not too dark like the demon one and not too bright like the angelic one so gaians can tell the difference. Overall, I think this halo is going to be a success even though it's gray but it still is a halo...

solonley: i think the mythrill halo was created to be the dawn of a new era. an era of trilogies. i think gaia has gone past angelic and demonic items. and as for wether it can hold its ground against the angelic halo and the dark halo. the dark halo never had it and the angelic halo was always the best. but only time can tell...

Nanshii: i think the new halo will do better for a while since its something new. But for those who probably own a Dark Halo or an Angelic Halo probably wouldn't care much about the new halo (maybe some). But over time, it probably won't get as popular as Dark Halo and the Angelic Halo. I think it's a bit plain sweatdrop
