November 20th, 2008 The shop is "officially" on Hiatus. All the staff members have been very busy since the beginning of September. Kana hopes to be able to do a little something for Christmas, she's working very hard on that with (hopefully) the help of LizzyMoo. Please don't expect anything for now, if there is anything, it'll only make it for a better surprise. Thanks to everyone for being so understanding.
September 6th, 2008 Kana made a small announcement on p.757. Everyone should take a short minute to go read it~
May 19th, 2008 Kana apologises for the little activity lately. It seems her and Nozo have been extra busy, and Sodashi has been having problems with her main account. For now, please bare with us. Growings are underway, and a Coloring Contest is in the planification procerss. Stay tuned!

November 24, 2007 Welcome LadyNozomi to the Staff! She has been hired as a Part-time Colorist to help Kana around the shop. A Christmas Event is currently being planned, more information very soon!

July 27, 2007 FINALLY! We apologise for the delays and non activeness in this shop. Kana and Xennik have been very busy IRL since the summer really started. Important
The name of your Shikokuyen MUST BE japanese.

General Rules
[1.] Respect all general rules from GaiaOnline.
[2.] Do not steal or edit any of the lineart/pets/banners.
[3.] No begging of any kinds, for whatever reason.
[4.] If you have a question, post it in the thread or PM the mule; Kakiyuu. !Do not PM Kanashimii!
[5.] Keep the drama outside the thread.
[6.] You may not sell your Shikokuyen or your Shikokuyen's babies.
[7.] There are no refunds on final sales(fully grown Shikokuyens).
[8.] Do NOT harasse/bribe the owners for their Shikokuyens or their Shikokuyen's babies.
[9.] Co-owning is allowed but not more than 2 person per Shikokuyen.
[10.] Do not ask to be part of the staff, there will be an announcement when I'll be looking into hiring someone.
[11.] Payments must be sent to the mule as soon as possible once you have won a Shikokuyen.
If I have not received the payment within 24hours, the Shikokuyen will be back up for sale.
[12.] Remember that the Staff have a life outside of Gaia and sometime it may take time for your pet to grow.


Roleplaying Rules

[1.] Use proper language and tense (past most of the time).
[2.] You may not RP any of your other pet in this thread or guild.
[3.] If you do not have a Shikokuyen to RP, you may RP your avatar, or OC.
[4.] Try not to leave anyone out, give a chance to everyone to roleplay.
[5.]Please use (( and )) when talking OOC if there is already an RP going on in the thread.
[6.] No god-moding. Everyone is equal.
[7.] You can not RP an imaginary or dream Shikokuyen, you RP what you own, it ends there.
[8.] You can RP even if you do not own a Shikokuyen.
[9.] Make sure to read the details and informations about the Shikokuyens, important things for roleplay are stated there.
[10.] The name of your pet SHOULD be japanese.

[1.] Did you make the lineart?
I didn't. I paid Paperghost for her to make it for me.

[2.] Did you make the banners?
No. Ballentine did the graphics for this thread.

[3.] Did you make the shading templates for the lineart?
I didn't. The original shading templates was done by Sanura Panthress, and then slightly edited by Lizzymoo, to fit on the Unicorn and Dragon lineart

[4.] Did you color them?
Yes. I am the founder/creator and colorist of the Blessings of Shikoku. Some Shikokuyens have likely been colored by other colorists also.

[5.] Is Shikoku a real island?
Yes. Shikoku is an island part of Japan.

[6.] How can I get one of these pets?
You can obtain one through various sales, such as auctions, flatsales, raffles and contests. Check the availibility post for more information!

[7.] How many can I own?
You can own as many as you like.

[8.] How much do they cost?
Each Shikokuyens cost 5k in a regular sale such as flatsales. But prices may vary during the different events and sales.

[9.] Do you take pet trades or bribes?
For that, check the availibility post. If nothing is written there, it's because I am not accepting anything at the moment.

[10.] Can I co-own a Shikokuyen with someone else?
Co-owning is fine, but you cannot be more than 2 to own a Shikokuyen.

[11.] Can we roleplay our Shikokuyens?
Of course you can! Roleplay will be strongly encouraged and reward to those who do it.

[12.] Are they RP required?
No they are not, but strongly encouraged.

[13.] Can I be a guest colorist?
If you ask, no you can't. I'll let everyone know when I'll be looking for a guest colorist, or choose one through out a contest.

[14.] Can I be part of the staff?
I have everything under control so far. If I feel the need to hire someone to help me around the shop, it'll be announced.

[15.] Can the Shikokuyens breed?
Yes they can.

[16.] Why do the Shikokuyens' names HAVE TO BE japanese?
Because it's part of the history. They come from Japan, it's normal that they have japanese names.

[17.] Did you make the Unicorn lineart?
No. Toushin edited the original lineart, then shading was done by LizzyMoo.

[18.] Did you make the Dragon lineart?
No. LizzyMoo edited the original lineart and shading.

[19.] Did you make the Christmas special lineart?
No. LizzyMoo edited the original lineart and shading template.

Availibility
No Shikokuyens are up for grab at the moment~


Flatsales
[+] This type of sale is 'first come, first served' kind.
[+] Different type of flatsales may occur, from speed sale to dice game and random trivia.
[+] The type of sale will be posted before it starts.
[+] The flatsale begins ONLY when a staff member posts 'GO' in blue.
[+] From time to time, there will be newbie flatsales, which means those that own Shikokuyens already may not participate.
[+] DO NOT edit your post once you've posted already. This will put you on the black list.
[+] You may post a second time if you did not get the Shikokuyen you wished for.
[+] Once a staff member says Stop, everyone has to stop posting.
[+] Wait for a staff member to post the winners before sending the payment.
[+] Do not complain if you did not win, there will always be other times.
[+] You may not claim more than one Shikokuyen per sale.
[+] The winners must send a trade of 5,000gold to the shop mule Kakiyuu.

Raffles
[+] This type of sale is where you buy/get tickets in order to win a Shikokuyen.
[+] Different type of raffles may occure (free, not free, limited slots, etc)
[+] Raffles rules will vary from time to time and will be posted when the time comes.

Auctions
[+] This type of sale is when people bid in order to win a Shikokuyen.
[+] Do not bid what you do not have.
[+] Only pure gold and donation items will be accepted.
[+] Do not guilt trip others for them not to bid.
[+] Up to 2 person may co-own/bid together. Not more.
[+] Calculate your own bid.
[+] Use Teh Guide for the donation items. Accepted at mid-price.

Events
[+] This type of sale is random. It may occure at anytime.
[+] Different types of events may occure (prompt, trivia, etc)
[+] The rules will vary from an event to another.
[+] The winners must send a trade of 5,000gold to the shop mule Kakiyuu, unless otherwise stated.

Contests
[+] Different type of contests may occure.
[+] The rules for the contests will vary from a contest to another.

History
In ancients days there lived on the island of Shikoku an emperor. He watched over his country with the softest eyes and a kind smile. Since he had been emperor of Shikoku, not one single war had occurred, and the villagers could live, happily ever after. On one fine morning like any other, one guard rushed through the castle, calling for the emperor. ?My Lord! Three guards by the river captured a mysterious creature. They seemed to be saying that it is very dangerous.? He exclaimed. Curious to see this creature, the emperor ordered for the guards to take it into the royal hall. With that, the young guard left in hurry, leaving the emperor sitting on his throne. It did not take long until the large doors from the entrance of the castle were wide open and five guards stepped inside, pushing the large metallic cage toward the emperor. The emperor could not believe his eyes. He stood up in amazement, seeing the creature lost and confuse in the small prison. The guards stood around the cage as the emperor approached to get a better look. The creature looked like it had a somewhat human form, but its skin was of a light pink and orange. It had wide eyes like the ones of a feline and feathers on its arms, like the ones of a bird. Fur was covering the sides of its legs, along with its lower stomach and back. The creature had long straight hair, swirling around them, with feathers falling in front of its eyes and shoulders. The emperor had never seen such a magnificent creature ever in his life and wished at that moment, that he could keep it for himself.

But when his eyes met the creature?s he could see that such a thing could never live in a castle, or a village among the humans and also that these eyes, were not ones of an evil creature. The eyes of the creatures were glowing blue as if it was praying for the emperor to let it out. ?Free her.? He said with a strong voice, as he noticed that the creature had a strange aura, like the one of a woman. Taken by surprised, the guards looked at their lord with a questioning face. Realizing he was serious, one of the guards stepped forward and opened the cage. Slowly the creature crawled out of her prison and kneed down before the emperor. ?You are free to go.? said the emperor. ?Such kindness is rarely seen these days.? echoed a soft, young woman?s voice. The creature looked up at the emperor. ?And for that, I shall thank you with a present.? The creature?s body was glowing of a light blue as she spoke, yet her lips did not move. She closed her arms together against her chest and within a few seconds, two small balls of fur appeared onto her arms. ?These will be your most cherished companions. Take care of them, love them just as if they were your children and your kindness will be returned to you.? she explained.

The small creatures stepped toward the emperor and sat in front of him. Their body was similar to the one of a feline, they had small wings on their back, large ears and eyes and a tail with feathers at the end. They eyes shined as they looked up to their new master. The emperor observed them for a moment, to then finally bend down and take them into his arms. ?I will.? he said of his deep voice with a nod. The woman creature smiled lightly and got to her feet. She walked pass the guards and disappeared as she walked to the exit.

Many years passed and the emperor never heard back from the strange woman. The small creatures he was given had grown with the time, just like children and were now adults. He cherished them like no one else could ever do, and in return they gave him their loyalty. But one evening, the emperor lay on his bed, sick and dying. The creatures by his side, he caressed their heads as they sworn to protect his castle and the island no matter what happened. He nodded to them, knowing he could trust them, and died in silence.

Centuries passed and slowly the creatures would be seen less and less from month to month. No new emperor had been nominated, there was now a government taking care of the island. Knowing that their beloved emperor was safe and that the island would remain peaceful from now own, the creatures disappeared and were never seen again.

General Info
Basic Things to Know
[+] Shikokuyens are the name Kakiyuu has given them.
[+] The children cannot speak, and have conversation with others.
[+] The adolescents can only float in the air.
[+] From child to adolescent their wings tend to change colors lightly.
[+] The adults can fly high in the sky.
[+] The Shikokuyens are extremely loyal.
[+] They do not flirt/mate until they reach adulthood.
[+] They eat only fruits and milk related food.


Stages
Shussan Stage (child)
The Shussan stage is the first form of the Shikokuyens when they appear/are born into our decade. They cannot speak our language or any others languages that exists on this planet. Though strangely they seem to understand one another when together, and also the human language when Gaians speak to them. At this age, they can move their wings up and down, but cannot fly. Most of the time they just want to play and sleep, but sometimes they like to stand still and look adorable. They size is about the one of an adult house cat, sometime slightly bigger. A Gaian would be able to hold one in his/her arms without a problem, but they often dislike being taken off the ground.

Seishun Stage (adolescent)
The Seishun stage is the second form the Shikokuyens take when growing. Their ears and wings have gotten bigger, and they can now float in the air. They can fly up to 4-5 feet above the ground but not more. Their wings are still too weak to carry them around the sky and clouds. Still they don?t seem to be able to speak our language, but at this stage, they have gotten friendlier with Gaians. They seemed to have been able to developpe a voice of their own and can now talk with each others and with the Gaians. The words come out of their mouth just like everyone else. Needing less sleep during the day, the young Seishuns are full of energy and will always want to play. Their size is about the one of a baby/young african lion.

Seijin Stage (adult)
The Seijin stage is the last one discovered by Kakiyuu so far. Their legs have gotten longer and their paws bigger. The furr on their head has changed into longer hair and often tend to fall in front of their eyes. Their ears and wings have gotten much bigger as well, and they can now fly freely into the sky. Though they rarely fly very long distance, they usually use their wings to go up on top of trees, roofs and others similar things. As they grew into adults, they seemed to have developped a telepathic way to speak with the humans. Even though their mouth don't move, a voice still comes out of them. Strangely said, they speak with their minds as if they had known how to since they were born. The Seijins are very loyal and calm. They are often quiet and tend to keep for themselves, but it seems to be different for each single one of them. They are of peaceful nature, therefore they won't attack anything that isn't putting them in danger. The adults Shikokuyens are the size of any large feline, such as lions and panthers, but tend to be slightly taller.

Types of Shikokuyens
[x] Sutenjiku These types are colorful. Their fur and wings have all kinds of patterns and color. It can go from spots, to stripes and swirls of all the rainbow colors.

[x] Shizentai These are the natural Shikokuyens related. It means their body/wings/fur have taken the appearance of an animal that already exists into our world. (ie. tiger, leopad, tabby cat, etc.)

[x] Cosplay These are the types that take on the aspect of a specific character. They often come with the same clothes and hair style depending on which kind of character they are. Only these kinds of Shikokuyen may keep the names of their original character(ie. being not japanese)

[x] Yuniko The yunikos are somewhat related to a unicorn breed. They have a shiny horn on their forehead, hooves for their back paws and furr on their back and at the end of their tail. It appears that they have lost their wings and feather. Though as a note, this type of Shikokuyen has come to be very rare.

[x] Pigumi Pigumi, or also known more commonly as pygmies are the kinds of Shikokuyens that will remain small children forever. They will never grow or change unless otherwise given the opportunity, which comes in extremely rare occasions.

[x] Ryuujin Also known as Dragon gods, these Shikokuyens have the apperance of a mix of dragon from eastern and western cultures. They have similar threats to the other species. The ryuujins like quiet and peaceful areas, they usually sleep during the day and come out at night. Not much is known about them so far.

Love and Breeding is something everyone is looking for!
If you are interested, then please read the following informations.

[1.] Only Adults Shikokuyens can breed (duh!).
[2.] Breeding cost is 12,000gold total. It can be split however between the owners of the parents.
[3.] You must have had your Shikokuyen for over 1 month before they start breeding.
[4.] Shikokuyens can breed for life(not limited) but must have 1 month break in between each breeding.
[5.] Each owners of the parents may only keep 1 offspring each. If there are more than 2 babies, they must be given away.
[6.] You cannot sell your Shikokuyen's offsprings. If you wish to give them away through raffle/game, PM Kakiyuu with the details.
[7.] Breeding slots can open at anytime(but usually will be announced before hand) and can be given away through any kinds of sale(flatsale, raffle, etc).

General Facts

+ Shikokuyens can have up to 4 babies.
+ First breeding generally only produces 2 babies.
+ A Shikokuyen couple has more chances to deliver more offsprings if they have shown interests before(Roleplaying is the best way to guarantee this)

Note: A Shikokuyen couple must be composed of a Male and a Female to be able to breed.
There are no FemalexFemale or MalexMale allowed.

Kakiyuu
The Blessings of Shikoku's Mule.
She is responsable of the thread's updates, front page and mostly all events.
She is also in charge of all funds. (Her second name is 'Zhe Bank')

Kanashimii
The Blessings of Shikoku's Creator and Founder.
She is the main colorist and breeder. If you Shikokuyen still has to grow, feel free to yell at her at anytime.
She is also often related to most events and updates regarding the shop.

Part-time Coloring, Editor and Helper Extraordinaire
Mostly responsible for any edits/shading related to the shop.
And is also very cuddly :B <3

Sodashi-chan
The Blessings of Shikoku's Main Assistant.
Responsible for a part of the 'paper work' related to the shop, when Xennik is too busy to get things done.
Will also be responsible for most of the future events and flatsales hold through out the shops.
Is also very full of energy and luff. <3
