This is an interest thread for a constellation-based b/c shop that we are hoping to create.

HERE!NOW!

Hello, my name is Lumin, a little college student planning to major in astronomy, and I was lurking around the B/C forum when I thought of a great idea for a b/c pet! What if there were pets based on the night sky that I so adore? So, I pushed my idea onto my friend Shima, who fortunately obliged to help.

This will be a fully-RP based pet. Each pet will be unique, and some may even become fully-customizable.

But now we need your help. Neither of us have experience with these shops, so if you would like to shout out suggestions or questions you may have before we open a shop full of confusion, it'd help us a lot. Thank you in advance!

In the modern age, constellations are seen as abstract patterns in the night sky...shapes carved out and deemed with complex names. "The astronomers back then had to have been very bored if they thought THAT looked like a ram, or that like an eagle, or that like a lyre," some people think as they glanced at the night sky.

However, there is something about these stars that contain some sort of magic within them.You see, stars only appear as little white dots in the sky to some as they pass by, apathetic, and continue on with their daily lives. However, when they take that one deliberate glimpse on a clear night, they are struck with amazement. "There has to be more to them, something the astronomers in the past realized but we didn't." How can a square, or a few lines, or a triangle in the sky be so magical?

That's what you are here to find out. You are a citizen of Deskira, a suburban town near a tall, luscious hill. This hill, encompassed by trees and pure darkness, a place that unlocks the path between Earth and the vast cosmos. Stars glimmer on this hill every night without fail and watch over you for all eternity. But one day, constellations begin falling from the sky, one after another....and one day when you climb the hill to see if the stars have returned, you meet a child with remarkable features.

What has happened to the stars?
Why do they disappear constellation by constellation?
Who is this child?

Constellation: The pet begins as a constellation in the sky, being viewed by the observer. After the viewer takes a glimpse of the constellation for about a bit, the constellation falls from the sky...

Child: The constellation takes a human form of a child, with a few features that resemble the constellation's origin. This child is new to the world, and to life itself, so you must guide him/her through childhood, while discovering the mystery of the his/her strange attributes.

Teenager: The child matures into a teenager, molding into a distinct personality. The strange features still remain, or even grow more prominent in some cases. The teenager begins to recognize his/her origin, and it is up to you to decide the fate that branches off because of this.

Adult: The maturing constellation decides not to return to the sky, as he/she has grown quite attached to the guardian. The constellation finds more feelings towards the guardian and the town of Deskira than the sky above, so he/she abandons duty.

Spirit: The maturing constellation decides to return to the sky, because he/she realizes that without returning, there would be people glancing at the sky and realize a part of it was missing. However, he/she leaves behind his/her spirit...

I could maybe suggest having an overal metaplot to guide RP or something.

...But for metaplot ideas there should be a reason WHY the constlation was sent down....

....Also as for metaplot maybe there is a sort of quest that sends them back to the sky.

We humbly ask for your advice concerning this shop. If you have any questions about Skyborn, please post them. If you have any suggestions from anything between pet stages and color schemes, post it. I will put every question and suggestion on this post. ^^

Wings for Art: Cert contest! Whoever makes the cert that pleases us the most will get my Angelbow! Please keep in mind that we will always put your name on the cert as the certist (which may give you some publicity if you win. XP) Good luck to you all!

Stuffs:
-Please You should use either Cygnus or Draco (post 3) in to see how they look. It doesn't have to match either of them, though.
-Keep it under 500x500 px.
-The title Skyborn should be on it. ^_^
-In the cert, please include Constellation, Name, Gender, Guardian, Date of birth, Stage, and Generation (or Gen).
-You may post WIPs, but it is not required.
-You don't have to include the whole figure in the cert.
-Contests ends on December 22nd, which may be altered depending on the circumstances.
-Any questions or entries go in this thread.
-You may post multiple entries.
-Your art is amazing, no matter what you say, or anyone else says.

Hints (aka, what you might want to put in there but don't have to):
-LEGIBLE FONT! -that's not the plain regular stuff like Times New Roman, Arial, and Impact. x_x
-Consistent... font.
-.psd makes my life easier, but please upload as a .jpg.
-Make it aesthetically pleasing! Cause you're being judged by an art major (Shima ^_^) and a part time artist (Me x_x). AKA, everything's gotta fit together.
-Lumin likes sparklies and stars. ^_^
