Yarramalong Kennel's New Thread

Well, Yarramalong Kennels are reputable Border Collie breeders who specialise in temperament, health, breeding dogs, companion dogs, and the colours.
EVERY DOG IS DIFFERENT. As per normal, no two dogs can have the same markings, so your pet, even though there may be multiple dogs of that colour, will have unique markings.

Border Collies are an active breed, and need stimulation and exercise - thus the point of the yet-to-be-opened RP thread. If you never RP, your dog won't reach its full potential, can't breed and may develop phsycological problems. They are an intelligent breed.
BREEDING:
You must RP if you want to breed. There will be breeding slots, yet to open. It costs 1k all up to reserve a breeding slot in the breeding sub-forum, or 500g per owner. Four weeks after the dogs breed, four pups will be born. The pups will pick up their parent's genetics, so if you have a heterozygous black (Bb) and a chocolate (bb), there will be two het. blacks and two chocs. You can use a handy graph like this to work out what colours and how many pups will have what colour:
(as a rule, the dominant gene (capital letter) is always put before the recessive gene when doing the graph, or writing in general)

Border Collie Colour Guide: (Name and acting Genes)
Black and white Heterozygous gene (carrying chocolate) = Bb
Black and white Homozygous gene (not carrying chocolate) = BB
Chocolate homozygous gene - bb
Merle gene - Mm (NB: NEVER MATE TWO MERLES - this will result in double merle puppies, who almost always have birth defects cry )
Dilution gene - (dilutes choc and black, resulting in blue and lilac) dd
Extension - (red) ee
Sable - A(y)
Saddle - a(sa)a(sa)
Tricolour - tt
A bit confusing, but if you don't get it, thats okay, I do all the hard work of mixing genes when your dogs breed ^_^
Then the pups are either split to the owner of each parent, or auctioned off. Owners can choose who can have their pups, but be fair, and they must be SOLD, not GIVEN AWAY. I am the person doing the selling only, but the owners do have some part in the matter (choice of selling, etc.)

PUP:
The pup stage lasts two weeks. Pups benefit best if taken to the puppy preschool sub-forum, for at least a few lessons.
TEEN:
This is where RPing is most important, as these older pups are realising they have a sex drive, and are more likely to challenge you for dominance. This is where they are most likely to develop problems if you do not RP at all. If you have not already, this is the last chance to start RPing so your pet can breed - if you RP in the adult stage, it's too late. The pet will be sterile.
This stage lasts three weeks.
ADULT:
Congratulations, you dog had bloomed into a beautiful, elegant, plumed Border Collie. They can participate in the working and sports sub-forums. The adult stage last for ever and after. These dogs still benefit from RP.

FLATSALES:
Most common. Basically, I will have some ready-named pups up for sale. You cannot post asking for one until i post in large letters "GO!" Their genetics and gender are already decided, but every one is different, even if they are the same colour - all markings are unique.

There is no custom lineart for the moment, except for custom add-ons such as wings, halos, etc.
AUCTIONS:
Auctions can occur when pups resulting from breeding are up for sale. The owners decide on a fair starting price, and we go from there. Auctions also occur in special events. Rules for auctions will be posted prior to the auction. No one posts a price until i say "GO", or else be blacklisted.
ADOPTION:
Sometimes, a poor, lost lonely Border Collie comes under our care. These dogs can be any age, and may have problems, however they are in desperate need of homes, and anyone who likes the idea of providing a home for the homeless, this is for you.
Strays cost 1k, and come along quite randomly.

This isn't a particularly heavy-RP pet, but we DO like it if you do it every once in a while at least - we frown upon those who buy a dog and run off into the blue, never to be seen again. If you want to breed, you must RP, preferably from pup stage, but no later than teen, or the dog will become sterile. You don't need to breed, so don't fret if you dont want to.
Teens are most vulnerable at developing phsycological problems from lack of RP. Pups benefit best if puppy schooled via RP.
