Breeding for these animals is a little odd, since they were, after all, born from books.
sweatdrop But according to what I read, while the two Dogtionari do breed, their offspring are born not directly from the female, but from the book she came from. This is where their information is contained, as well, until they reach the Pup stage, when they get a book of their own. (But don't worry, that's not important.

Once your Dogtionari attains the Adult stage, it is able to breed. The costs for breeding are as follows...
Both parents at Adult stage: 200g
One parent at Adult stage, one at Full-Grown: 150g
Both parents at Full-Grown stage: 100g
COSTS MAY CHANGE. Eh-heh... ^^;
Waiting until one or both parents are at the Full-Grown stage may also provide further benefits/options/etc. (We'll see.

Still trying to come up with how characteristics will be passed on. Will most likely be based simply on "whatever combination of traits looks good."
xd
Once the two Dogtionari have bred, all the owner of the female needs to do is open his/her Dogtionari's book, and the young will appear in the same way their parents did. There may be 1-4 in a litter.
Each owner of a parent may keep one Dogtionari for 500g, but the rest will go up for sale at the normal price. If only one Dogtionari is born, the owners of the parents must decide who gets it.
Note: Dogtionari keep their mates for life. ^.^
