After a long spell of rainy days a single ray of light fell into a forest that Cosmos and Hisui lived next to, which of course meant that they had to go outside in order to work off some excess steam that had been building up over the past week of nothing but rain.

As they wound their way through the forest along a small path that they themselves had discovered, they came upon two angelic beings sitting on a boulder on the side of their path. Both seemed to be only teenagers, and both seemed solemly sad as they sat there in complete silence. The two girls noticed the nearly invisible angel wings on the female and the seemingly mechanical ones on the male. Hisui and Cosmos were about ready to turn around and leave in order to keep from disturbing them, when the girl looked up at them.

"Um... hi." Hisui said, trying to find something to say. "I'm Hisui, and this is my friend Cosmos." She stated, gesturing towards her friend.

"I am Kaname." The female said and then looked over to her male companion. "This is my Triente, Sukeyasu."

"Triente?" Cosmos asked.

"It's the equivalence of what your kind call 'fiancee'." Sukeyasu answered. Then he looked to Kaname, who nodded to him, and hi continued. "We have something that we would like to ask you. Kaname is the heir to the Maika Kingdom throne, the only one. Her parents have just caught the deadly disease that has shown up in our kingdom about a week ago. The disease works quickly, maybe within a day or twos time."

"I'm sorry." Hisui stated, taking a step towards the two. "I wish we could help you guys in some way."

"That is why we are here." Kaname stated, standing up. "Though the outbreak is very deadly and wiping out most of our people, it seems that a certain percentage of our population is not affected by it. We have been able to discover which of our crystals will not be affected by it either, and we wish to give these to you so that you may somehow help us in repopulating our kingdom once more."

"What are crystals?" Cosmos asked.

"They are what our children are born as. They only stay that way for about two or three days." Sukeyasu answered. He paused, then finally asked, "Will you help us?"

Hisui and Cosmos looked at eachother, both thinking through the options. And then finally, "Yes." They both answered simultaneously. "We will help."

1. No stealing the art. Theifs will be prosecuted to the best of our ability.

2. No begging or whining for a Maika. If you want one that badly, hang around for our next flatsale.

3. No insulting art, coloring, lineart edits, anything of the sort. You will be blacklisted.

4. No hassling staff/other owners for Maikas or eggs from breeding.

5. No intimidation. Do NOT try and convince an owner to not go for a particular Maika at a flatsale. You will be blacklisted and you will NEVER get a Maika.

6. Anyone listed as "Staff" deserves the utmost respect.

7. Follow the Gaia TOS.

8. Have fun!

Guide to the Different Lists:
Gold List- Yes, I have added a cool new gold list to this shop, for people who go out of their way to help us or always donate to us. People who have made their way to this list will reap the rewards of discounts and possibly freebies.

White List- for people who donate or help out with the shop on occasion. It may be that you are just always really kind and generous to everyone at the shop.

Grey List- for those who have goofed only once or twice.

Black List- Those unlucky souls who have decided to be repeat offenders. If you find your way to this list, you will have your Maika taken away from you and you will not be able to ever post here or buy another Maika ever again.

Crystal Stage
The crystal stage is the first form and is pretty much the equivilency of an egg. This sort of tells you how your Maika will look like as it gets older (or at least what the patterns will look like! ^^) They are very fragile, and therefore are kept in facilities where you can visit them.

Chikaku Stage
This is the second stage that your maika is in and their first humanoid stage. They look just like human babies except for the jewel upon their head. They are still rather fragile, so you should keep a close eye on them.

Kotami Stage
This is the third stage. Your maika is now able to walk around and play with other maikas more easily. They can be able to go off and play by themselves as long as their in safe areas.

Teen Stage
This is the fourth stage. They now have a very small set of wings. Your maika can now run around like the rest of the maikas without hardly any worry of getting themselves into trouble! They are probably going to try to be older than they really are at this point. Oh gawd, the rebellious years! gonk And to top that off, they're powers are starting to come in! Hopefully they don't get too rebellious!

Otanji Stage
This is the fifth stage. Their wings are now fully developed! Your maika is now full grown and a great companion. You don't have to worry about them in the least, but it's probably become such a habit by now, that you will anyway. They now have complete and total control of their powers.

Elder Stage???
This may be the sixth and final stage for your maika. The only way you could get yours to this point is through special events. You'll have to find out what they look like later! 3nodding

Okay, now you're looking at me like "What the hell do you mean? GODS?!" Yes, Gods. At least that is what the maikas call these creatures because they resemble the gods that they worship, but they are in fact pets that the maikas keep! (They only have one stage)

Seiryu
These creatures resemble that of the god Seiryu. He is the god of air, which also these little things can control giving them the ability to fly.

Suzaku
These creatures resemble the god Suzaku, who controls fire. These little guys have the ability to produce flames.

1. OMG!! CaN i HaV 1????!!!!!!!
First off, please do NOT talk like this, it's annoying. USE REAL ENGLISH! Second, no you cannot have one unless there is a flatsale (in which case, you must buy it for the said cost), auction, rafffle, or some other event going on.

2. Can I bribe you for one?
You have to talk to the colorist.

3. Are these roleplay mandatory?
Not for now. They might though once we are able to get a guild.

4. Is there any way we can have them taken away from us?
Yes. If for some reason, you get put on our blacklist, you will have your Maika removed from you and sold to someone else. There will be no refund either.

5. Why do they cost so much?
Because unlike quite a few shops, we have only one colorist right now, and she can get overloaded if the price is too low, and we have to have her working all the time. We have lives too, ya know. Also, with the amount of stages we have, if there are too many going on, she could get really busy and crazy if they all need to grow at the same time.

6. Can we barter on a price?
Unfortunately, no. THe prices are set. Unless you actually can talk the colorist into giving you a discount, then no.

7. Can you change the type?
No. As stated above, we have one colorist. Talk to her, maybe she'll let you, but it will be rather expensive.

8. What is there to do with a Maika?
Right now, there isn't much to do with these gorgeous creatures besides breed them. Once we get a guild, there will be many more things to do! ^^

9. How do you pronouce Maika? Triente?
Maika= "my-cuh"
Triente= "tree-en-tay"

Flatsale Rules:

1. All faltsales cost 7k. There will not be any debate upon this.

2. The flatsale will begin only after one of the co-owners writes, "Flatsale: NOW!" in the thread title.

3. You can buy only one Maika for yourself per flatsale. You can also proxy once per flatsale. Therefore, you can buy 2 total.

4. Maikas are sold to whoever pays for them first. If someone comes and gets the one you want first, you can buy another one or wait for the next flatsale.

5. All sales are to be sent to the mule. (maika_pets which is what we use on the front page)

6. Make sure to direct-link! If you don't they will not grow! (To do this: right click your Maika's picture, click on properties, and copy and paste the url within [*img][/*img] without the stars in your sig, journal, or wherever you want to put it.)

Okay everyone, breeding will be able to be done between two maikas that are at the adult stage. Yes, breeding will be allowed in homosexual realationships, the drawback to these, though, will be that one of the owners must first buy one of the potions that will make them able to succesfully breed. Potions will only cost around 500 gold, so it's not like it will be made available to only rich gaians.

Next up, I would like to say that because they have an anatomical similarity to humans, they will tend to have only one child at a time, though they can also have twins or triplets. And also on the very rare occasion, they can also have more than that at a time, but such instances are VERY rare. (See Below)

Now with that said, I would like to bring to your attention that when you breed, each owner may keep ONE of the offspring (you will have to pay for any more that you may want). This thus means that if your maikas only have one child, you will have to decide who gets to keep it. This, of course, may not get extreme, or we will have no choice but to keep either of you from keeping it, and we will sell it without paying you in the least.

Now, finally, we're reaching the figures. Breeding costs 10k. If you end up selling some of the offspring, their price will vary on whether there are any line-art edits involved and other such things, but otherwise, they will be sold for around 8k. 50% of these proceeds MUST go to the colorist. The rest gets split between the two owners. Therefore, you may actually be able to make some money from this!

HOW TO BREED:
Alrighty, this is how things will go down when you are ready to breed.
1) Roll Dice - You will roll one 20-sided dice. This wil determine how many they will have. These go according to the following.

2) Roll Dice - You will roll a 4-sided dice per offspring. (So if it said you will have one, you'll roll one; twins, 2; triplets, 3, and so on...) Even numbers will mean that it's a female, odds means that they're male.

Bio: Well, I'm a student in high school who spends way too much time on the computer. Photoshop is still a bit new to me, but I'm learning quickly.

Bribes: Yes, I will take bribes for things other than flatsales. That means that when you send such said bribes to me, you will send them driectly to my account, not the shop mule. I take bribes that are in the form of donation letters, items on my wishlist, and anything on my price list.

Customs: Okay, customs will cost you between 9k and 20k. This depends upon how much you want. Custom colors only will be about 9k. If you want a lineart edit with my choice of colors, it will be about 11-15k, depending on how difficult it is. If you want both, it will be more expensive, that being around 13-18k. Cosplays will cost you about 20k, no matter what.
