I'm closing this shop for the foreseeable future. I would say 'forever' but there is still a chance I may change my mind later.

The reason I'm closing is because I'm being entirely unfair to my customers. Some of you placed orders months ago and haven't seen so much as a line. I could make some excuse about IRL problems or issues, but the truth is I just haven't felt like working on orders, and it doesn't look like that is going to change any time soon. Thus I'm closing.

So what happens to the existing orders that are now in limbo? Most of these I haven't even thought about starting on yet, so I will simply cancel the trades and that will be the end of it. For the two that I have begun, I will show the customer what I've done so far and leave the decision up to them. I will send everyone with a trade a PM, to ensure they know what's going on in case they don't stop by here.

You have all been amazingly patient with me, and I thank you. Though the shop is closed, if you simply must have art done by me, I may accept bribe commissions on a case-by-case basis. No promises though.

And if you'll permit me the shameless plug, I'd invite you all to visit my Avatar Edit Shop (link below) if you haven't already. I'm thinking of offering customs there soon, since it will be my only shop.

Current News

9/07/07 - Well, I can't think of any valid reason why I should still be closed, so I'm open again. I've made some minor changes to my waiting lists, but that's the only change on the shop side of things. On the art side of things, there's been a big change. I've recently acquired myself a tablet laptop and I will be using it to do orders almost exclusively. This may or may not cause a noticeable charge in the quality of the art you receive, but it does make a lot of things easier on me, so please forgive any wonkyness.

Old News
?/?/07 - : gonk : I forgot to pack my lightbox so I won't be able to finish any orders until I get back home, sometime towards the end of the month.

5/17/07 - I have some time again, so I'm going back to the light-boxed, clean lineart I did before, though I'm not opening up more slots yet. Not at this time at least.

Those who are waiting for orders already don't need to change their trades, but they will get cleaned lineart anyway.

03/03/07 - Open again, but with changes. Due to a distinct lack of time on my part, I will only be able to do semi-clean sketches rather than the clean lineart that I used to offer, and there will only be one slot for each. I've also put up an option for colored pencil art, which can be found in the Color section.

12/15/06 - Closing to new orders for a bit. There's travel in my near future and I'm not sure that I'd be able to complete any orders before I get back. I'm also have an idea that I'm seriously considering enacting, though not until January at the earliest. It involves trading art for Sealeds / MC in their month but I haven't completely worked it out yet. The damned things are getting so expensive lately I can barely get one of each anymore, much less buy anything else. : vein :

9/18/06 - I just upped the prices on everything but head shots. I have a couple of reasons for this, the major one being that I have very little free time available to me anymore and I have to pick and choose what I want to spend it on. It's not that I don't like drawing for other people, but when I only have a few hours a night and I have homework to do, video games I want to play, avatar edits I want to work on, books to read, personal art to work on... all my time goes poof.

Somewhat connected to this, and the secondary reason is I've been thinking for a while now that my prices were too low, or to put it honestly, I was putting too much effort in for not enough reward. Not so much for the normal style, but definitely for the chibi style pieces. And since I'm not one to half a** my art for any reason, that means I have to up the price. I might lower the normal style price again later (because I was rather content with their prices), but chibis will likely stay up, but perhaps not quite as high as they are now. I'll have to see how it goes. Headshots are staying the same though, because I really can't see charging any more for them; they're only headshots!

All current orders will be completed at the previous prices (i.e. what I said they would cost), but any new orders (i.e. any orders placed after Peppero's on page 100) will be at the new prices.

8/27/06 - This is a little belated, but school has started again, and I find myself with much less free time during the week. This may cause delays in the completion of orders, but please be patient; I will get your order done when I get the chance.

7/13/06 - Open again at last. I have discontinued the CG color options, but there are new lineart color options so you don't have to be stuck with plain pencil lines.

5/29/06 - Been a while since I said anything here, and it'll be a bit longer still 'til I'm up and running again. I've caught up on all the art that I can do for the moment, and I plan on revamping the shop a bit and changing a few things around.

One major change is that CGed Color will be discontinued. It may return later in either auction form, or in a single slot, high priced form like it was originally, but my experiment with more color options has been a bit of a failure. I also plan on messing with the way I handle the slots, and anything else I come across while I'm changing things around.

*Notice 2/14/06* - I'm going to start moving all my commissioned Gaia art from my regular DA account (StephenFeylin15) to a new account Sanne-san). The links in the 'Customers' section will be updated as I move each piece, so if you loose a link just look there.

Edit 2/17/06 - The moving is finished. All orders can now be found at my Sanne-san DA account.

*Notice 1/17/06* - I just rearranged/purged my photobucket account, so if anyone was direct linking the sig-sized version of their art, the image will be broken. If this is the case, just post, or PM me and I'll get you the new link. I don't mind the direct linking, I just needed to reorganize a bit, and it was either move those, or every other image in my thread. Sorry for any inconvenience.

1/17/06 - It's once again time for school to start up, so I won't be able the spend as much time on art, so orders may take longer to complete. Just a 'heads up' type thing.

1/07/06 - Remodeling! I changed some things around, and added the new color options officially. Hopefully it's a little easier to get around and less confusing now. In other news, several days ago I added some new banners for linking this shop, and a link to my new Avi Edit shop in the links if anyone's interested in that.

12/01/05 - I've got the changes I'd like to make all neatly set out in the new 'Staging Area' post located after the Link post. A lot of changes have been set up: New color options, backgrounds available as an addon, and new size options. None of this is 'official' yet, so any feedback on these proposed changes would be greatly appreciated. : 3nod :

11/27/05 - I've got a working idea for new color options but I haven't quite gotten everything into a nice and organized post yet. In the meantime, I've decided to discontinue the Pencil color option now so that I won't acquire a backlog of them to finish.

11/24/05 - Nothing's changing yet, but I'm thinking about reworking the 'color' portion of the shop. I haven't got
anything specific figured out, this is just a 'heads up'.

10/25/05 - Reopened on schedule.

10/18/05 - Temporary Closing. I need to do some power studying, and I'll too easily use orders as an excuse not to. : sweat : Estimated re-opening date: 10/25/05, but may be sooner, depending.

Styles

I draw in two basic styles: Chibi and Normal.

Chibis tend to lack noses, and tend towards exaggearted proportions
as one might expect from something called 'chibi.'

Normal drawings are much more realistically proportioned and far
more detailed, but still anime styled.

The style samples above are both Headshots, so I'll only put samples
for the other two sizes here.

Headshots: 500g (0.5k)
1/2 Body: 2,500g (2.5k)
Full Body: 5,000g (5k)

These prices are for single person orders. For each additional person
you wish to add(up to 5 people total) multiply the initial cost by 1.5.
So for 3 people: Price*1.5*1.5 = TotalPrice.

Since plain grey pencil lines can be a little boring, here's an
opportunity to spiff things up a bit.

At no extra charge, you have these 3 options.

For a headshot, the prices are halved, so they are 250g,
250g per person and 500g respectively.

'Full Color Outlines' will have the lines of each part in the appropriate
color. Hair lines will be the color of the hair, blue jeans will be lined
in blue, etc.

Pencil color

I have one more color option, but it will be restricted, and follow some different
rules than the lineart. Choosing this option will allow you up to three people in
either Chibi or Normal style, and the final will be done in colored pencil. The price
is non-negotiable, and I will only work on one order at a time to ensure I don't get
too backed up. There's likely to be a decent wait for me to complete these as well so
be prepared to be patient.

Use the same form as the normal orders, and specify 'Colored Pencil' as the line color.

Cost: 1 Sealed/Thank You letter.
(Once they've been unsealed, the MCs will also be accepted.)

Outstanding CG orders
At this time, 5/29/06, I have two CG Orders that I am going to call canceled.

The first is an order by 'broken is easily fixed', who I have not heard from in over 4 months, and who never approved the sketch.

The second is an order by 'A u r o n - C h a n', who canceled the trade some time ago, but never left me a note saying the order was canceled.

If either of these people want to have their order completed, or officially canceled, then they can PM me and we'll arrange it.

Ordering Process

Updated trade sequence to work better with the new bank system,
and hopefully eliminate unnecessary lengthy waits at the finish
trade/receive art stage. If it seems strange just ask, I'll be happy
to explain or clarify anything.

  1. Decide what you want, then fill out and post the form below.
  2. I'll quote your order, tell you/confirm the price and put your
    name on the waiting list.
  3. Send the trade to Tavish Adair please, as soon as possible.
  4. When I have the sketch done, I'll Confirm the trade on my side
    once, and PM the sketch to you. If some thing's wrong, or you
    don't like it, tell me and I'll fix it.
  5. Once you are satisfied with the sketch, please Confirm the trade
    on your side once more.
  6. When the final is ready, I'll confirm the trade and PM you the
    link to your art and a sig sized version.

The sketch I'll show you will be very much like [this picture]. Messy
lines, some light, some dark, some things will appear to be see thru...
that's why it's called a sketch. However, all the important details
should be present, and all I do to 'finish' it is clean it up. If there's
anything about the sketch you don't like, tell me so I can do my best
to fix it; you are the one paying for it after all. Once the sketch is
approved, it should only be a short time before the final is complete.

just in a post rather than the signature box.
