What does "save your image on your own server" mean?
- It means that you must save the image and upload it onto your own host so the store owner who is currently hosting it for you can delete it.
What does it mean by "direct-link"?
- Direct-linking is when you quote the message and copy the URL code and use it or you right-click an image, select Properties and copy the URL. Store owners DO NOT WANT YOU TO DO THAT unless they give permisson, like a breedable.
Oh no!! my image is showing up as a Red X or showing me the thing below, what do I do?

- The URL that you're using doesn't seem to be working, so either something's wrong in the code or it;s really old and doesn't work anymore. Just reupload the image and use the new code.

how do I save it on my own server?
Photobucket Way
Using Photobucket is an easier way to manage your images because you can always go back to them in case you loose the url. You can also sort your images in different albums.
- 1. Go to Photobucket.com and Click the "Register Now"
- 2. Put in your desirable name and password and click "Next Step"
- 3. Make sure you fill out all the info, you don't have to put in your personal info if you don't want to.. I usually just make up my info, but make sure you can access the email that you put in. Don't forget to check the box next to "I agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy".
- 4. Skip all the offers that they offer.. unless you actually want them >_>;
- 5. Now, it should automatically show you to your account where you can upload your own images. begin by pressing the "browse" button.
Side Note :: In photobucket a great way to organize your pictures is by adding ablums and putting your images in those different ablums. You can do that by putting the name of the album you want in the space next to the "Create a new sub album" and then hit "create". Then you can move your images to that ablum or out of them once they're there, or just upload images into that ablum once you go in it =)
- 6. Once you've opened that, a window should pop up. Search for your file using the drop down menu and the "Up One Level". Once you've gotten your image, its name should appear on the "File Name" space, then click "Open".
- 7. Now the window should close and the image should be shown with it's name. There's a space next to it that says "describe it" where you can type in a description of the image, but you don't have to unless you want to. Click "Upload It." once you're ready to upload the picture.
- 8. when it finishes uploading, the image should appear on the bottom as a thumbnail (or the actual image if it's small enough) with 3 different codes. The one we're using is the one next to "Img"
- 9. Now just insert that code into the space for your signature, if you don't know how to get there just follow the image below.
Tinypic Way
Using Tinypic is easier and faster since you don't need to register, it's a free hosting site where you can just upload pictures. However, the disadvantage is that you cannot retrieve your urls once you've uploaded a picture.
- 1. Go to Tinypic.com
2. On the right column there should be "Upload Image", "Upload Video". below that it lists "Image" and "Tag", and next to the space to Image there should be a "browse" button. Click that and it should open a window.
- 3. Once the Window is open, it displays files of your computer. Use the drop down menu and the "Up One Level" utton to help you find the image you want to upload. Once you've found it, click on it so it's selected in the "File Name" and click "Open"
- 4. Now it should return you to the original page, but now filled in the space next to "Image" should be the location of your image in your computer. Don't touch that, and just press Upload Image.
- 5. Now, it comes up with 3 different URLs that you can use. The one we're using for gaia is the "IMG Link: for forums and bulletin boards" The other URLs don't concern us, so you don't need to worry about those.
- 6. Now just insert that code into the space for your signature, if you don't know how to get there just follow the image below.
- and once you click "Submit", the image should appear in your signature now! ^_^
Important Note :: Do not look over the important note that is under the signature space: "Please keep signatures less than 500 pixels in size in both width and height, and a total byte-size of less than 100,000 bytes. Ability to post signatures may be removed if you do not comply with a moderator's request to follow this standard. There is a 255 character limit for signature text."
