I am Zilvrae Thara'Ssapffyn
Name: Zilvrae Thara'SsapffynAge: 279
Race: Drow
Class/Occupation: Zilvrae is a traveling storyteller.
Religion: Zilvrae never chose a deity to follow in favor of living without religious restraints.
Appearance: Zilvrae is of a decent height of approximately 5 feet, plus or minus. Her body is muscled, but that is hidden quite well with full skirts and a full-bodied form. Her hair, black unless in direct sunlight, is normally worn piled on her head in a messy . Her skin, a pale grey from years spent traveling on the surface, is marred by a few tokens of her travels. A scar on her cheek being the most prominent of them just under her eyes of pitch. There is also a burn mark on her hand
Zilvrae, as a traveler, is careful never to carry too much on her person at any given time. Her garb is mis-matched and consisting of a pale blue hooded cloak, a ragged grey sash around her waist, a simple rope belt from which hangs a noggin (wooden bowl-like item is similar to a ladle in shape) and a little coin purse nearly half filled with copper coins, her skirt is a very worn black color that has faded over the years while her shirt is a soft brown linen. Her boots are of a thick leather that are not yet in tatters, but give them another year or two and it will be time to change them out and use them for other things.
Zilvrae always carries a small bag that holds a few rations, some bandages, and her journals in which she writes of her journey so she has yet another story to share. The staff that she has been carrying around for the last decade or so is one of her prized possessions and, over the years, has been decorated with whatever she decided to add when it came to her hands. While the staff has traveled with her, it is not Zilvrae's weapon of choice and she is also in possession of a small blade that is worn in her left boot.
Background History: Zilvrae was born to a Drow merchant family who, after losing business with the noble houses they commonly sold to, decided to find better buyers. This search eventually led them towards the surface where there was a settlement of dark elves that worked in the transportation of various goods for merchants of different races. Her family bartered passage onto the vessel and that was how they continued on.
When Zilvrae was old enough, she was taught the fine art of writing and counting which were very important to any merchant. It was then that the young Drow discovered how much joy she found in learning new things. As the writing progressed she began to speak with others on-board the ship and requested that they teach her the common tongue in its written and spoken form.
By the time her family had found a decent place to run their business, Zilvrae decided to seek out new knowledge which led her to a human monastery where she was hesitantly accepted and taught more than simply the language, but the stories that were hidden within the monastery's walls. She came to the conclusion, not long after, that it was the stories that would be her passion. The monks gifted her with a cloak to shield her from unfriendly eyes as she set out on her journey.
From that time, she has been constantly traveling the land. She stops at inns and taverns willing to trade the stories for a warm meal and bed for the night. Occasionally at farms and camps alongside the roads who are more than happy to put up a storyteller in exchange for a tale. Now though, she seems to be heading back in the direction of the place where the elves are. After all, what storyteller would be so foolish as to miss out on the stories of their own race?
Hidden History: When Zilvrae left the monastery she ran into one of her family members. Her half-brother named Seldsaonar whom had taken up company with a group of thieves after growing bored of their family's work. When Seldsaonar learned that his sister had taken to storytelling, he convinced her to join him.
The two created a small family with a group of pickpockets in a random city and slowly trained them to steal in a more acceptable manner with fewer chances of being caught. Nearly half a century later the two split up. Seldsaonar created a guild for the thieves that followed him while Zilvrae continued teaching whatever young thief she came across how to better their art.
Weaponry: Zilvrae carries a decorated staff, which is rarely ever used in any sort of fight, and a small blade that is a little scratched up, but still in decent condition as she has not had to draw it often.
Skills or Powers: Zilvrae is extremely skilled in the written word and goes to great lengths to make sure all her writing and stories are done up nicely. She has very good hearing and her eyesight is better in the dark despite years in the light. She is also a thief trained primarily in house theft.
Physical Weakness: Zilvrae is not skilled with weaponry. She tends to panic when under attack and strikes out of that. In most instances thus far, that has worked, but against a trained warrior she would either end up running away or being killed.
