Hi! I'm Ylaraniala! It's been AGES since I updated this, so, I'm updating it! Yay!
First - and I warn you, this may be shocking - I am female.
Yeah. I know. Shocking. *rolls eyes* I have mostly male avatars for the same reason that guys have female avatars: if YOU had to stare at somebody for a long time, wouldn't you want them to be appealing?
Now that that's out of the way, I really do love to cosplay my avatar. I've done Raistlin Majere from Dragonlance, Frodo from LOTR, Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter, and Megamind from... well, Megamind. I have a ton of tekteks made for different characters, and I keep them all in my bookmarks.
You will likely see me a lot in the Word Games area, 'cause I like it. I've always liked games of any sort, even if I am
terrible at them. So there.
I am one of the few people that actually write in their journals on here. Why? Because I'm sad. Not just the depressed kind, but the lame kind too. It's filled with all the junk that comes in my head at 3 or 5 in the morning and not a single entry is happy, so yeah.
I am pouring my heart and soul into my Megamind guild on here. Why? See previous comment about SAD. However, it's also because Megamind is ridiculously AWESOME in so many ways. If you haven't seen the movie, watch it. At worst, you'll consider it okay; at best, you'll be watching it forty times in the next month.
I have a thing for supers, either heroes or villains. I have just recently figured this out, which is hilarious, since I've loved supers since I was little. I really don't know why. Maybe it's the whole justice thing, or power, badassery, being able to change the status quo (because the status is NOT quo), or even that I just like fighting. Actually, it's likely all of those things.
I play Dungeons and Dragons every two weeks. I know almost nothing about pop culture except what I glean off of others. I know hundreds of strange words and what verb conjugation means. Marian Call is one of my favorite singers. I also really enjoy 80s music (Joan Jett, Aerosmith, AC/DC, and Kansas, to name a few). I actually enjoy a lot of different kinds of music, that's just my favorite.
I like REAL fashion, not this fake fad crap people are so fond of. Fashions still look good after decades, whereas fads? Not so much. I still don't understand why capes went out of style, though; they fulfill their function and NO ONE looks bad in a cape. I am also a real punk lolita and a tsundere.
Basically, I'm a geek girl that's oh so proud of it. I adore scientists and know a tad about science and math. Actually, I like math quite a bit and am currently teaching myself trigonometry, then calculus, then statistics. Trig so far is ridiculously easy and fun (yay Chief Sohcahtoa). If you think that's a bad thing, well, have fun in your non-geeky world. I guess you'll never have a Family Assault Vehicle parked in front of your castle home
