Eiko lives alone in her home village of Madain Sari. She is the last of the "summoners" who once dwelt there. But now she lives in her house amongst the ruins, in the company of her moogle friends.
When Eiko meets Zidane and the party, she demonstrates her awesome summoning powers in battle. Eiko comes along in the adventures because Dagger (Garnet) was very interested in learning more about summoning, and Eiko has set her sights on making Zidane her new boyfriend.
