No wonder they gave her the Academy Award. She deserved it. And after seeing it, I knew why no one wanted to go with me.
I saw 'Moneyball' last week-end. It was fine, but not all that I was expecting. It was pleasant and a good story and the acting was quite good.
But nothing like 'Drive' and the whole Film Noir thingy it's got going on. Incredible.

I've gone to the movies a few times by myself. It's actually kind of fun. The first time was to see 'Monster' with Charlize Theron and nobody wanted to see that movie. I was obsessive/compulsive about seeing every movie up for an Academy award and it was the night before the awards. So I put on my 'big girl' pants and went. It wasn't too bad. (Although the movie was a little disturbing.)

Saw some of Paul. Sorry, not terribly impressed, but okay.

Today, however, I saw 'Drive' with Ryan Gosling. You absolutely must see this movie. He is James Dean incarnate. Say no more.

Loved Pineapple Express, but I thought Paul looked so bad in the trailers. If you think it's on the same level as P. Express, then perhaps it's worth a look.
And Crazy, Stupid Love was funny, but it was so gaggingly 'Hollywood'. Not terribly original, but Steve Carell is always good for a laugh.

Nice to see you back. I hope everything went as well as it could.
I have a couple of movie reviews for you (actually....I saw 5 this week.)
A bit fat 'yes' to Cowboys and Aliens.
A 'don't bother' for Planet of the Apes (unless you're a huge Andy Serkis fan).
A 'wait for video' for Crazy, Stupid Love.
A definite 'yes' for The Tree of Life, if you like Kubrick mixed with Bergman (and perhaps a hint of Dali).
And a 'possible' for Midnight in Paris. Only if you're familiar with artists of the 1920's. (Picasso, Dali, Hemingway, F.Scott Fitzgerald, Man Ray, Gertrude Stein, etc.)
