Out in the Gaia world there are lots of different kinds of dresses, some are even Asian orientated.
The only problem I and many other people in Gaia find with dresses is that you can't put much on top of them, like a jumper for instance to add more colour.
The dresses in the Gaia shops have a range of values from the cheap ones like the fancy virgin dress to the more expensive ones like the G lol styled dresses which come in different colours.
Also there are dresses long and 'flowing, short and 'cute' and dresses with more then two colours.
Some dresses are substituted as battle dresses/armour in role plays.
Dresses can also show quite a bit about your personality and about your mood. For example if you wore say Felicia's Beautiful Gown you would give the impression you are a sensible person and quite calm.
Dresses of different styles are worn by many famous Gaia characters too, such as Ruby the hat seller and of course Rina.
So as you can see dresses are indeed an important aspect of Gaia's dressing up. Dresses are something unique for the girls seen as the boys have quite a few other clothing items unique for them.

Green and yellow
When rating an avatar, what is it you look for? Expensive items? That set that everyone uses? Or that two color scheme that is so overused that even your dog hates it? No, what is really gets that 10 from most is a good theme. Whether it be a cosplay or matching of colors, a theme is what makes the avatar. And the hottest theme of the month is that dazzling green and yellow color scheme.
What is it about green and yellow together on an avatar? The world may never know. But what we do know is this: Green and yellow look awesome together. It's no wonder that everyone is obsessed with this theme. You can combine many different items, and still get that lemony-lime look. Even the new Citrus Snug Tee is jumping on the bandwagon with this trend. Trying to make a hot new entry for the Arena? Make it green and yellow. There are tons of items to chose from, ranging from the Green/Yellow visor to Moss Hippy pants. You can even make and awesome green and yellow avatar for under ten thousand gold! That should be all the more reason for picking this. It makes that tired old black and red theme look like a stopped up toilet. So if you're looking for a good theme for your avatar, you know which one to chose. And if you still can't figure out, then you might need to get your fashion sense checked.

4th Amigo Set
As always the new release of Gaian clothing is one of excitement, this time especially with a grand total of four new store sets. I think that each of these new sets has something to offer but there is one that I predict will not get the respect it deserves just in fashionable diversity alone, the 4th Amigo set. You may be thinking about what’s so great about that? Which is understandable its one of those sets you see as a whole look when you view it in the store, or at least may view this the least versatile of all the new looks. Let’s consider each piece, shall we? The sombrero, the shirt, the coat, the pants, the boots, and my personal favorite, the tie and all of these items come in three colors Dusti (brown), Guappa (green), and Lucki (red and black). The both the pants and the coat come with cool rings at the seams that provide the item a punk look on their own. I believe these boots are one of the best that Gaia has to offer, while they aren’t particularly tall or have an interesting shape, it’s the details like the subtle swirl that goes up the ankle that truly puts it up there. What I like most about the tie is that it will go with most types of outfits if coordination is right, that and the fact it is just totally awesome, whether you’re a guy Avi looking for a way to give your tuxedo a funky touch or just want to pull your outfit together, this tie is a great item and for just 70 gold this is something every Gaian should have in their inventory. As for the shirt, well, they needed something to pull the set together. I think this is one of the most fun sets there is out there and love that it has something to offer everyone.

ORLY? Hat
There is no questioning the fun that is the latest Gaian hat. The coming of the ORLY? hat has been long awaited and much predicted among Gaian communities as the clear successor of the OMG, OMFG, and BTK hats, and it fails to disappoint. This new hat also has in its favor a total of five poses: O RLY?, O Fly, ORLY-Maru, SRSLY!, and Tooooote!. The initial pose of ORLY? is adorable with its long wings off to the sides but it’s the poses that I feel are really exciting Of these poses there is even a bag pose (Tooooote!) in response to the fairly common complaint of a lack of purses and bag items for our Gaian Avis. Also included in the list of poses is an O Fly, complete with a smaller-sized wings (in comparison to the other wings) and let’s face it, we Gaians are total wing-item junkies. My favorite of all the poses would have to be SRSLY! though, if only because those angry eyes and oversized fists make me smile every time I see it. Can’t say that I really like the Orly-Maru look from the front but the distinct lines and feathers of the back make it look like a really exotic knotted head wrap that allows me to forgive it for looking so scary in the front. As is with all donation items this September 06 item will definitely increase in value over time, not that you’d want to sell it but you better donate now or before prices begin to rise.

1. Dark Halo.

What can be found in the June 06 donation letter is the popular Dark Halo. Now, if you wanted something cute for your avatar as headgear but cannot afford a Halo (Who can?), the Dark Halo is what you could consider.
I guess why this item was picked as the best item is because we all love the numerous positions we can use. There is the halo of course, the Eye of a Demon, dark tail and more! It is so inexpensive compared to the expensive Devil Tail. The DH can imitate that '03 item with one of its many positions, the Dark Tail!
I guarantee by around 2007/2008, a Dark Tail will cost much more. Possibly 200-300k even! Get one now, or risk having to spend most of your piggy bank of gold in the future.
Halloween's coming. You know what that means! Buy your costumes, black and orange outfits now because no avatar is ready until you include a Dark Halo. Well, just the black & orange avatars. You know what I mean! <3
Now buy one, join a party & go trick-or-treating the week of Hallowe'en~ You'll have a blast knowing you are wearing one of the best outfits in the room.

2. Angelic Sash.

While this one-of-a-kind item is off the charts in value, it is absolutely perfect for that angelic themed avatar you always wanted. If you really want one, save up all your money, donations and go on Gaia like it's your last day ever!
The Angelic Sash matches with the Angelic Scarf, Angel Mini Wings & the Staff of Angels. Then again, they all cost so much. Don't try spending on anything more than 10k if you're questing for one of these babies, because you will be just about broke by the time you get one.
This sash looks great for many gaians who wish to look.. innocent and beautiful. It covers most of your avatar & everyone who wants one (or questing) will all look at you. Some will be happy for you, others jealous. It's fine, though. Soak up all your compliments and glory because you worked hard for your Angelic Sash. It really is special!

3. Coco Kitty.

Wow! Gaia sure loves plushies. Six different positions, all very adorable.The good thing about a coco is that it has a smoky black/dark gray sort of color. It goes well with the right black coloured avatar. If you do not want your Coco to cover your body, you could click on the Lookout position. Or give your avatar a kiss. Whatever you do with it, be sure to treat your plushie with care & love, because they might just be pixels, but each one is special! ^^
Many prefer the Coco rather than its counterpart, Kiki Kitty Plushie. Could it be because of the coco's current 'cheapness'? Or do many just like black more? Perhaps it's because the Kiki does not offer many positions that would look nice with your avatar. Regardless, the Coco is a nice feature to any avatar. Make sure he/she matches, because all eyes will be on these kitties.

1.Newspaper Combover
It's tacky, boring and it causes lots of glitches full of green goo. Yes, the Newspaper Combover has been voted the worst item of the month. It lies on the avatar in a way which makes it ugly with other colours or other items, so it is almost impossible to create an avatar from it. Since colour and vibrance are in this month, the grey monotone of the newspaper is too dark, bland and depressing for most gaians. For the upper class gaian, the newspaper downgrades an outfit to destroy a rich, noble or posh look.

2.Blox
They cover all your assets, and destroy any attempt at a decent avatar. Blox are the seccond worst item this month. For gaians they make you look unoriginal or like a tetris game. So, instead, try making clothes layer in bright ways rather than covering it all up with a simple blox. Blox are cheap and tacky- they are the easy way to "make a good avatar" whilst AT moans at you for wearing a "set". So, avoid blox like the plague if you want a good avatar.

3.Tin Hat
People craze and quest for the coverted tin hat; however gaians say it's not worth the effort. It's difficult to match perfectly and it looks too bulky for most hair styles, forcing you to go out of your away to adapt your perfect avatar to accomodate for the tin hat. Colours are in and silver, black and grey aren't. So this month at least, avoid wearing this steely item.

Lol. Well in '04 some time i made this avi. <3 Got art for it and that and left it for like 2 years. XD
Then my brother was going through my stuff and saw it, so he copied. XD It brung back memories of that avi so i entered it. XD


Ok now question number two.When you first made the avatar why did you make it?Why'd you choose the colors you picked out?


Umm, well i class it as Pick and Mix.
I only ever use 2 - 3 colours, as it spoils it. So, just dressing up a avatar, and choose the one which is best. <3 Always have alot of commons. ^^

Simple Tips to Stepping-Up Your Style
Sometimes getting the right look is hard, despite Gaia's great abundance of items. It may be your avatar's too simple or too monotonous. Be that your problem or most anything else, here are a few tips that can turn your avatar from bland and unoriginal to sharp and unique.

Tip #1 - Layering: Most people don't realize the difference fun layering in your avatar can make. For instance, did you know you could layer bracelets over gloves? Throw a Roco Rachel Costume Bracelet over your Lex Gloves and you've got yourself some funky fashionable armwear. Experiment with your inventory, the outcome might surprise you.

Tip #2 - Balance with Bouquets: It may seem hard to find a good matching accessory to one of your favorite items at times. Should that be the case, why not try a bouquet? It may not match everything, but if you get your colors right you can dress up your avatar a lot with just one item.

Tip #3 - Handhelds: Away with the Tektek! Gaia's got numerous positions to hold colorful items, get a new perspective. While you can't tinker on a simulator to see how this works, try it out yourself. Many Gaians forget we have this option, use it to your advantage. Create yourself a flare that no one else has, grab a radio or a cane as an accent to your outfit.

These are just a few basic ideas to help you reach your avatar nirvana. The rest is up to you. Just remember what you've learned here and your possibilities are endless.
