Info: Rinjie works as a bodyguard for the Agni Kais in Republic City, usually only employed to protect the bigwigs when deals are going down. His primary role is intimidation - given his tall and rather threatening appearance & physique, he rarely has to do anything other than give a warning to silence any potential troublemakers. He despises working for one of the gangs in the city, and hates having to be the 'bad guy' (if at all possible, after a deal goes down and another victim is left extorted, he tries to apologize and even goes so far as to sneak some funds back to whoever's been cheated out of money), but knows that his work for them is the only thing keeping him and his grandmother off the street.
His grandmother, a pacifistic former doctor, influenced his ways of thinking greatly; he prefers to settle things with words, and hates confrontation. If he's forced into an altercation with someone, he'll always try to resolve things peacefully at first, and if things come to physical blows, he tries to keep damage to a minimum - he took a vow to never take a person's life as long as he lives, and puts that at the forefront of important beliefs.
His firebending skills are impressive, though his best attribute is his brute strength - his grandmother always joked that he should've been born an earthbender because of his natural physical prowess. Though he sometimes employs weaponry, he never uses any blades to actually strike a cutting blow - instead, he merely uses them as extensions of his own arms to channel his firebending through, and occasionally using them as a shield to deflect blows. He only carries them due to the Agni Kai's policy that all bodyguards must carry some sort of weapon while on duty.
He is not without weaknesses. Because of his large size and propensity for more force-related firebending, he's not incredibly fast or agile, and isn't able to perform some of the more nimble, flashier firebending moves - he's often found himself in situations where he was unable to escape through speed or stealth, and his only option was to endure and hope that his body held out long enough to escape somehow. Owing at least somewhat to his elemental alignment, he's not very fond of water and cannot swim either. He also has an irrational fear of thunderstorms, which also explains why he hasn't been able to bend lightning yet - the fear is too great for him to get past.
He's a huge fan of pro-bending and is major backer of the Fire Ferrets; he is also quite a Bolin fanboy, and has secret dreams of competing alongside him in a pro-bending match someday. He can barely contain his enthusiasm and admiration whenever the earthbender pops up in a conversation.
When it comes to the issue of benders vs. nonbenders, although he is a bender himself and believes his powers are a good thing, he despises the use of bending as a way to oppress and bully others, and greatly sympathizes with those who've been abused by those with bending powers. He stays out of the political side of things (for the most part), but if it came down to it, he'd try to find a way for everyone to get along with each other, and achieve that goal in the most peaceful way possible.
He has an affinity for spicy foods, and has an unusually high tolerance for mouth pain. His favorite food is his grandmother's stew, which is made from a secret recipe that even he doesn't know. He is an excellent cook, though he never thinks so, and often claims that he could never hold a candle to his grandmother's cooking.
He is sometimes mistaken for being a very tall girl when viewed from behind, due to his extremely long hair which has never been cut since he was born. His voice is also incredibly low and deep, which can be even more surprising to people when they meet him for the first time.
