It’s been so long since we said hello.
We’ve been best friends too long to just let this go.
We walked away before, and I know it will be tough,
But I can’t live without you anymore, enough is enough.
I guess that what I’m trying to say,
Is that I can’t go on like this for another day.
Every part of my life reminds me of you,
Reminding me of the us that we once knew.
I know that it won’t ever be the same,
But it’s better than pretending that I don’t know your name.
It’s better than pretending that I don’t care,
And it’s better than crying because you’re not there.
I need you in my life; you’re the better part of me,
Please say I’m not insane; tell me that you can see.
That we are two of a kind; that we are the same,
Because in my mind, my best friend; you remain.
I know that I don’t deserve someone like you,
But without your light, the days ahead seem blue.
That’s all that I have to say, all I had inside my head,
I just thought that you should know, rather than me keeping those words unsaid.
