OK, you see the purple toolbar at the top when u sign in? Put your arrow over 'My Gaia' until a list pops up. Go down to 'Mail' and click on 'Inbox'. From there you'll see a thing called 'New Message', click on that and you can choose from a 'private message' or an 'Instant Message'... Beleive me dude, choose the private one. :]
