There are a couple outstanding bassist/singers that make the fold. Sting and Lemmy come to mind, Geddy Lee, Gene Simmons. Iron Maiden's Steve Harris IS the band. Matt Freeman was the bassist in Operation Ivy and Rancid. Mostly when I self-deprecate the role of the bassist, it's all in good fun. Sure there's some truth to it, but the bassist is the one member of the band everyone can pick on. Even as far back as GH1, the joke of the mini-fridge replacing the space of the bass player. Yup... Been there.

Oh indeed. No one else wants to be the bass player, and well, I'm a bass player, so... Haha. Ironically it was like the only band member really "open" in the guild. Bass players honestly get no respect! Well, except maybe Matt Freeman, but he demands it.
