Yeah, their reasoning on pricing gold shop items so high eludes me; I rarely buy the newer ones because the pricing is so out of line with comparable items on the mp and they are single pose, A fair price would be about 10% of what they charge.

rofl Their time line for fixing stuff is long gone because every time they fix something, it causes a swarm of new bugs. Stuff they thought might take a month ended up taking over a year to fully fix. New inventory system along with tagging and search is high priority so at this rate may debut in about 4-6 years I think. In the meantime the present system just keeps breaking down more and much is not fixed.

I'm not sure on that one; I know it involves buying tickets that allow submissions of various kinds, then the artists need to approve those and then make the result. They're expensive cash items to buy too. It's one of the main way Gaia earns profits now.

Oh exact spelling is also my bane. Their search engine is so ancient and with poor tagging and some bugs, it drives us all nuts. But I've copy and pasted the exact name of items into search and it won't show up. It happens more and more in recent months too.

You got all of them? LOL, but at least you have them on hand. I got all the first set that are cheap (when they first came out and were even less expensive before they updated gold shop prices) and I just buy the more expensive newer set as needed.

At least have different staff put priority on different sets of projects with maintenance time set aside each day for each dev. to work on, each with their own section. Instead Lanzer is both running around putting out fires cause basic maintenance got neglected for years while trying to make new features and not having time to properly test it all. And not doing beta versions for users to suggest improvements before implementing it on the main site. It's pure chaos right now and it has been as long as I've been here (200 cool and I've heard stories of what went on before that...some of those were worse than anything that has happened since.

Simple backdrop is an item at Barton's and can be found here pages 4-6. They're really useful at times as a foundation to layer upon.

Speaking of tagging, I tried to search them under the item's actual name and search couldn't find them in the mp. I've noticed that more and more, several items can't be found by item name, just descriptor tags.

And people consider me an insane optimist... rofl I don't think they've ever done a new feature, game or event without several problems and even revamping an old event will be problematic as they always bring back the original buggy version, not the fixed one. It's like the final working one is never saved.

Btw, I liked the pots in the air pose so I got the item and I tested it with a simple backdrop. It worked so you can layer that way (love the item was just 1k).

They used to allow user tagging and had a thread for staff to add them. But both resulted in a mess and artists fell so far behind they soon discontinued it; this was years ago. Now they plan to fix tags when they replace the old inventory system with a new one....you know how such change goes on Gaia; it'll be years before things start to work right...

Gah, I hate when layering poses like those flower pots above prove to be cut outs so that any background item gets framed by them so you can't layer. Yep, no way to tell until you try it. If they weren't a cut out, a simple backdrop would have worked nicely, plus you could layer more on top of that if you wished.

No, I seem to intuitively know how much to add and when to stop. My advice is to just do what feels right and trust in that. If it still feels off, there is a thread in Avatar Talk forum where you can go for composition advice. Once in a rare while I have one that refuses to come together and I either play with it on and off for weeks or I just deep six it and start over. I think I've done the latter just twice in 18 years of about 175+ avies per year so it's really rare indeed.

Your TT avi came out adorable. I suspect you won this one so you get half your investment back anyway.
