I think the point in that was to start fresh, so kids that are only now getting into things wont have to pick up any old games.
But hell, they really need to work on the oldies (and they did a little with the new abilities).
I agree, I like the moth one and the crocodile.
The rest? Meh.

HeartGold is a little unbalanced. A Beedrill's Twinneedle should not be able to one shot an Alakazam of the same level regardless of what type takes extra damage from the other.
I just wanted to inform you of this injustice.
