Serena Akari

-- Physical

Serena is 21 years old, 5'5", with green eyes which seem to convey a message of hope and mystique. She has straight orange hair which reaches to her shoulders. She has a rather small form, just short of B-cup. She often seems like she is worried about something, though it's never clear what. She wears fairly plain clothes -- in fact, it seems almost like she wears the same thing every day, but it never seems to get dirty. She speaks with a soft, euphonic voice. She seems rather weak, but is actually very well-practiced in the martial arts, and in most situations, will have no trouble defending herself if need be. She would rather escape from battle, and as such, is also well practiced in evasion techniques...and if all else fails, magic. (See below) Birthday: November 18th, 1997 (Scorpio).

Serena has been through many different situations, and thus can ascertain quickly what's going on and what needs to happen for a favourable outcome. She knows who she can trust, and who she can't. However, if she doesn't know, she tends to worry and panic, and sometimes blames herself for not seeing what she thinks should have been obvious -- though, if she couldn't tell, it really wasn't.

-- Emotional

Although Serena knows who she can or can't trust, she has a hard time opening up to anyone, due to her history. She always tries to keep a calm exterior, though her worries do occasionally come out. She is quick to apologize if she causes an accident, but likewise, will get rather annoyed if something happens to her. She holds no grudges, however, except in extreme circumstances. When she is defensive, she would rather look scared than angry, and will only fight as a last resort.

-- Historical

Serena comes from a very special lineage; one within which is held the spirit of benevolent magic. Very few know about this lineage; those who do are either sworn to secrecy or have had their memory sealed. However, there is a horrible beast that has pursued this lineage for thousands of years. This beast seeks to destroy the last member born to the lineage, so that it will be lost forever, and thus, it would be able to bring chaos to the world. All they have ever been able to do is seal this beast whenever it returns.

Four days after Serena's 18th birthday, this beast returned. Only a person outside of this lineage can defeat it permanently... And just as Azure dreamt of Serena, she had also found him in her dreams. She was certain that he could perform this task. Thus, her parents set upon her a protection spell which would make her invisible to it as long as she kept moving, and she set off to find this person... And so she left, traveling far and wide, relying on the hospitality of strangers, occasionally getting in various kinds of trouble, but with her inherent magic, would ultimately continue on safely. It would take her three years, but she would find the one...

-- Magical

The Akari line holds a special energy which enables them to use benevolent (often called "white" wink magic. In the life of each member of this family, they will only pass this magic on to two people; the first person they form a lifelong bond with (ie. get married to), and the first-born child of these two people. (Needless to say, divorce really isn't an option. razz ) As the first-born forms a bond with someone, that other person will feel the effects of this; symptoms of illnesses or disorders will begin to subside and eventually vanish without a trace, they will feel more energetic, etc. If the bond is broken before it is completed (again, marriage), the effects may stay or disappear, depending on how harshly it was broken.

Serena will mostly use defensive magic, such as raising awareness or abilities, repulsing someone away, or stopping time for just long enough to get out of someone's view. She has also used the family's memory seal ability when she has stayed with someone who cannot be trusted with so much as the knowledge of her existence.
