Hello.
I am Doctor Johnathon Crane.
You probably know me as Scarecrow, the villain that has plagued Gotham for ages.
Let me tell you about myself...
I was never a popular boy. I was always tall and lanky, and indulged myself in books.
As such, I was the target of much ridicule and bullying. They often equated me with Ichabod Crane of the Novella, the Headless Horsemen, because of our last names and similar personality traits. They nicknamed me "Scarecrow" because of my build. Kids can be such pests.
On the night of the Senior Prom, I snapped. Dressed in the costume I would later become famous for, I shot and killed the big jock on campus.
Slowly, but surely, my life has been enveloped by my fascination and obsession with fear. While I was working at Gotham U, I pulled a gun on my class, to gage their fear. This stunt cost me my job.
I have used this to my advantage in my criminal career. My scare tactics are legendary. I am the master of fear.
