Solanin would have been his magnum opus had Punpun not come around. What A Wonderful world is a series of really good happy ending oneshots. A Girl By The Sea is also great but the group scanning it dropped off of the face of the earth before it finished so picking it up may be disgruntling.

I'm not sure if I really liked Nijigahara Holograph though, it left me feeling dark and empty but I don't know.

Yeah! It's also a shame that detailed psychological type manga is so few in number. Have you read anything else by Asano Inio?

i don't want to spoil it but a LOT of stuff goes down between Punpun and Aiko. To a lesser extent, Sachie, Seki and Shimizu.
