Yeah, I doubt she'd have been much good, it was just irritating because she would have been another person to make our section bigger...
And yeah... we were technically part of the trumpet section but we sorta did our own thing <3
We usually switch our oboes to saxophone, pit, or, if they really want, guard. (that's rare) But this one got switched to mellophone. He'd never touched a brass instrument until like a week before band camp... you can guess how that went...
First of the last... the end is near... you'll feel it soon T-T
Well, one became drum major, then the two others in her class (and her) graduated, then the rookie that had joined that year quit, then the person a year ahead of me quit because there were only 3 of us and she wouldn't get to be section leader (oh boo hoo), so it was only me and my best friend, and our director flat out refused to switch one of the 10-13 trumpets we had to mellophone. Last year we got an incoming horn freshie, and, for some unimaginable reason, an oboe player. (still no trumpet converts) ><;
Sounds fun o: We have a couple alumni things, but not much
I know some people who did that... wish I was good enough to lol but I don't want to minor/major in music so I guess it wouldn't help if I was
And ouch... my director sometimes does that to certain people... and one year we only had two mellophones so I kinda know how you feel xD; only mercy was he couldn't really hear us well enough to yell at us...
You'll be fine! The first competition usually feels like crap but you'll be ok in the end n_n
Thank you! >w<
I haven't started band yet... college is a whole new thing... I keep seeing pics from my friends still in high school and I'm missing band camp so much T-T Hopefully college band will be fun enough to make up for it...
I love the timpani... it'd be my percussion instrument of choice if I played percussion. I love how well-played horns and mellophones sound too... shame mine are rarely that way... oh well, I do it more for the fun *shot multiple times*
