Thoughts on Gaia

I agree that it's pointless and repetitive, but so are most threads on this forum. It's "Extended Discussion," not "Intelligent Extended Discussion," as I recently noted elsewhere. Did you ever see the huge meat-eating-is-wrong thread, which I was also involved in? Or the six thousand other threads about meat-eating, smoking, drinking, abortion, global warming, homosexuality, and just about EVERYTHING ELSE, which have become divided into morons spewing bullshit with their fingers in their ears, and sensible people screaming at them to shut up and listen to what had been said 200 pages previously?

My point is that almost all threads are like this. There's nothing you or I can do about it. This is Gaia, basically. This thread is a great example of what Gaia is: intelligent people filled with frustration, and stupid people slamming their brains against their keyboards until something barely intelligible comes out.
