I am a major nerd. Computers, science fiction and fantasy, role-playing, video games, and gadgets are my obsession.I have 8 computers, but only 3 that are actually running. I use Linux on all them; mainly Ubuntu (Xubuntu on my laptop), but I'm thinking of installing openSuSE when I get a larger hard drive. I also plan to open my server to the net once I figure out how to safely do so. I'm also training to be a network specialist, which I feel I will do quit well.
I like science fiction and fantasy, just because of the opportunities they open up for stories, and also because a lot of science fiction is becoming science fact. Some of my favorite science-fiction/fantasy stories are Ghostbusters, Vampire Hunter D, Firefly and Serenity, and many of the Final Fantasy games.
While I've not been able to attend a single role playing session since moving to Wisconsin, I am still interested in the hobby.
Video games are a major hobby of mine, especially games that I can add my own content to (Quake 3, Doom 3, Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, etc). My main focus seems to be on first person shooters, but I do also enjoy RPGs, adventure and puzzle games (Metroid, Castlevania), and some racing games.
I just like gadgets that play music, offer mobile web surfing and gaming, etc.
