I've only seen La Gage aux Faux, La Bohemme, Sweeny Todd, and The Pirates of Penzance, and they were all student productions at universities. I'm not all that familiar with theater and I suspect that from much of the stuff I've seen advertised in bulletins in coffee shops here that I will find the vast majority of them boring or annoying. Just as I find the vast majority of artists to be that way, and a comparable ratio of humans. I would like to see Grease and Rent but it may be a long time until I see any musicals that aren't for free and aren't student productions, because I'm broke and would rather buy the makings for spiced wine than risk a venture to a theatrical production that may not amuse me. How do you feel about musicals like Cats and Wicked?
Oh! A surprise to see you here, in my hallowed profile! Well, a pleasant one, still, since you don't strike me as being one of the more annoying of the creative class. So far, that is. I'm most certainly an irksome, troublesome beast, and I guess since I do write and happen to like literature and things like jewelry and semiotics, I could be one of the more academic members of the creative class myself — if I weren't a college drop-out that is, who would much rather write and own a restaurant than work in a cubicle or hang garbage up in galleries for yuppies to buy. Have any favorite or memorable productions?
