I know exactly what you mean. Well I am in fact south American, though my grandmother is completely French.

I suppose some do consider mestizos as partially Asian because Native Americans are Mongolian descendants

"Hans Island belongs to Canada!" Indeed. I love that, lol. It's just sad when two of the world's most peacful countries go insane over a 1 km barren knoll.
I love that island..provided so much entertainment for the useless place it is, lol.
I bet Harper, just like Mulroney and his arctic sovereignty policy, will promise nuclear subs and icebreakers patrolling the region, only Harper will actually be crazy enough to go through with it.
