first of all, gold is important (at least that's what they tell you)
but you only need it for items you get in the marketplace to dress up your avatar (you get it gradually traveling around the website, posting, playing some of the games, etc) but being a former addict to this site i have accumulated alot of gold and items so if ya need anything just ask, though remember im not a bottomless pit, and my "collection" can run out =/
You can get items in the shops and the marketplace under the shop tab
