Believe me, people always got me with those but now whenever somebody says something like that telling you to prees Ctrl+a letter I always scroll through "File, Edit, View, Tools, etc." bar above and look for the option that has the Ctrl+"" and ull see what it does ^^

Ctrl+W is for closing a tab as is alt+F4 to close a window
