This gaia account is dedicated to the poor unremembered character Avery Conner, who appeared in the Marvel 3 part mini-series Elektra and Wolverine: The Redeemer, a good 2 years before X-men Evolution "invented" X23.Avery was not a mutant by birth. She was the child of two research scientists who had formerly worked on the weapon X project. The company they worked for took their daughter, and used DNA grafting to turn her into another Logan, that is until her Mother and Father made a plan to get both them and their daughter out. Unfortunately the head of the operation hired Elektra to asassinate Avery's father before they had gotten completely away, but with the help of her Mother, Logan, and eventually Elektra herself, Avery was reunited with her remaining parent and the two went into hiding.
It's not clear how much like Logan she is, but one trait definitely protrayed in the series is her healing factor. She was shot and mere seconds later was already standing up again, the wound closing. It's mentioned that many of her other traits are age-activated, so she may in time gain the claws and other heightened senses that Logan has. There was also a chemical that she secreted as part of her DNA reworking that allowed her persuers to track her, but her mother designed a counteragent that would eventually cure her of this.
Avery almost became the apprentice of Elektra, and easilly copied her cold and ruthless demeanor, her convictions only wavering when she found out that her parents hadn't really divorced and that her mother was still looking for her.
