I am seventeen (almost eighteen) and I attend college. I have studied Psychology, Sociology, History, and Journalism among other things. I am pursuing a career in either Psychology, Journalism, or Theatre. I will give you advice to the best of my ability. I am going to be striaght forward and honest. I will be mature and act professional about any situation. If I recieve a questiosn I am clueless about I will do reaseach and post where I recieved my information. If you need help beyond me, I will get you in touch with professionals.

True friends... Has anyone had any lately? Does anyone even know what those two words are suppose to mean? I honestly do NOT know how many true friends I actually have. I could be completely wrong, maybe its just me having trust problems, but I don't think it is.

If you take a step back a look at your life, are you truly pleased with your friends? Can ANY one of us say we have one person we completely trust, who we tell everything , that NEVER tells anyone else? And can any one of us say that we, ourselves not went and told someone something behind another persons' back? I don't think any of us can. That doens't make us awful people, it makes us human. None of us are perfect (but that is a completely different blog). In this life ALL of your "FRIENDS" will say something (maybe even behind your back) about you that you won't like, I will promise you that, but does that make them any less of a friend?? Can you fault someone for something you have done? People do all the time, but that doesn't make it right.

Everyone thinks friends are suppose to have your back, not talk about in a bad way, and so on and so forth. Everyone has there opinion on what friends are suppose to be. Everyones defintion of friend is DIFFERENT. Technically in the dictionary a friend is one attached to another by affection or esteem or a favored companion. Everyone favors differnet things, therefore what we want out of a friendship is completely different for differnt people. Personally I think the rules you set for your friends make you the friend you are. If you set a "rule" for friends, shouldn't you follow it too??

And do not think that I am stupid or crazy. We all know we have them, the " unspoken rules of friendship"(haha). But what exactly are they? I doubt anyone will every know what it is like to have a true friend, because the way I look at it you can't expect a person to be what you can't be either. Its impossibe to be a completely true friend. You will always run and tell another "true friend" about what the other "friend" told you.

If you think about it you arne't even a true friend to yourself. You go blabbing your secrets, your wrong doings and eveything else you can possbily tell to your friends. You couldn't even keep it quite, so what makes you think that they will?

Friendship has limits. No one deserves be screwed over or lied to. You shouldn't be "friends" with people like that. I am just saying we should forgive easily, and never forget. Life would be much easier if we did.
