 Mew slowly stepped up to the battle field, rolling a pokeball between her palms. She was about to start her first ever battle and was slightly nervous. She looked across the field at her opponent, then quickly tossed the pokeball onto the field so she wouldn't keep her opponent waiting. The pokeball burst open to release an orange salamander with a flame on its tail. The Charmander looked around the field confidently, ready to take on his opponent. Mew knew that this would also be Buddy's first battle, but seeing how undaunted he was he was calmed her down a bit. He wasn't nervous, and he was doing all the fighting, so why should she be? She also looked across the field at the opposing trainer who was about to send out her pokemon. "Buddy," she said, trying to make her voice sound as confident as he looked, "as soon as she sends out her pokemon, hit it with an Enber. Buddy nodded and spat a small burst of flame at his opponent as soon as he could. HP: 32/32 damage to Darkly: -9

((It's alright. ^^ Darkly's current HP: 31 - 9 = 22 Damage done to Buddy: 10. Buddy has 22 HP left.)) The young trainer, probably 12 years old, with red hair walked onto the field, tossing a regular, of course a top half red and bottom half white, pokeball up and down. Her red eyes stared at her opponent, blinking once or twice before licking her lips to moisten them. She wouldn't want to get them chapped, afterall. This would be her first battle. How would she do. She bit her newly-dampened lips deeply. Any deeper and it would start to bleed...Taking a deep breath, she threw the pokeball, calling out, "Go, Darkly!" A dark-fire type came out, looking around herself to figure where she was at, though that was a little to late. She has hit terribly with an ember attack. Oh, the great pain.. This would teach her to adjust quicker she supposed.. Atleast her trainer was patient with her. If she wouldn't she would be in trouble.. She began to tremble with slight fear. And then she heard her trainer's voice. Her black ears twitched to hear a command barked at her. Barking in respond, she breathed through her nostrils before spatting out an ember attack.

Mew was cheered that Buddy's first attack hit his opponent so strongly, and happily called out, "Nice one, Buddy!" He looked back at her and smiled slightly, clearly also proud of his attack. Unfortunately, this meant that he didn't notice the retaliating Ember until it was literally on top of him. He skidded back slightly from the impact of the fireball, then turned and glared at Darkly. He would be sure not to take his eyes off his opponent again.
Mew was a bit worried for Buddy, since that attack looked like it really hurt him. She Made sure to keep her concern from her voice as she called out, "Now go in for a Scratch," to Buddy. The Charmander nodded, then charged towards Darkly with one claw raised, ready to strike his opponent.

The houdour cried loudly, an echo made around the battle field. The scratch had hit her right inbetween her eyes and a few inchesabove her nose. A little closer to one of them and she'd have only one eye. Making a small barking noise, she awaited her next command, ready to throw in as much energy as she could.
The trainer bit her lip. How long would this battle go on? Her houndour looked slightly weak already. Frowning, she called out a simple attack. "Hang in there an use a tackle attack Darkly!" she bellowed out, containing into herself what appeared to be slight fear.
Darkly cried out happily and ran towards her opponent with a bounce in her step, waiting to reach the correct distance to hit.

Damage done to Buddy: 6
Buddy's HP: 22 - 6 = 16
This is a close one. =3 ))

Buddy was more alert this time, and tried to dodge the Tackle, but since he was already right next to Darkly from his last attack, he didn't have much time to react. Still, he was able to spin to the side slightly as Darkly rammed into him, so that the movement absorbed some of Darkly's momentum and the attack did less damage than it might have.
Mew noticed that Buddy had tried to evade but hadn't had enough time, so she decided to use another ranged attack. "Alright, use Somkescreen this time," she called. Buddy quickly took a couple steps back as he began taking deep breaths. A trickle of smoke escpaed from his mouth, and with each breath the puffs of smoke grew thicker. After he'd built up enough, Buddy blew a thick, choking cloud of smoke at Darkly, then backed farther away. He intently watched the cloud, trying to see his opponent through the concealing smoke.

Darkly's HP: 16 - 9 = 7
Yes, it is. We seem to be fairly lucky with the dice rolls. smile ))

The hondour was engulfed by the smoke, spinning around to find a way out. There was none though. Her body was getting weaker and weaker, and she doubted she could take much longer. She knew she couldn't take much longer. She gathered more courage to hear her trainer's voice. It was so sweet of her to worry..
"Darkly!" she screamed with panic, covering her eyes. She was a bad trainer, wasn't she? Jerking the thoughts away, she called out the same command as before. "Try your best to see through the smoke! Just go straight on into a tackle attack! I believe in you!" She placed her hands to the side and clenched it into a fist. "C'mon Darkly..." she mumbled.
(( *nods* i have a feeling this will be the last round. =3
Darkly's HP: 16 - 9 = 7

Buddy could vagely see the outline of the confused Houdour as she thrashed around. It was hard to tell, but it seemed that Darkly's movements were growing more sluggish, which meant that she was growing weaker. He shifted to the side a little, trying to get as close as he could to Darkly without going into the smoke himself. Then she charged out of the smoke wildly, and by some odd twist of fate rammed right into Buddy. He stumbled, caught by surprise, then jumped back. He watched her warily, starting to pant from exhaustion. He was growing tired very quickly.
Mew also noticed how confused Darkly was, and how worried her trainer was. She felt a little bad, and hoped Darkly would be OK. Both pokemon were looking very hurt and tired, and the battle might not last much longer. "Quick, Buddy, another Scratch!" she called.
Again Buddy raised his claws and charged toward his opponent, ready to rake them across her.
((Ouch, and now the dice fail me.

The scratch seemed to barely get across the houndour, but she dropped down so she was on her knees. Now panting loudly, she wiggled her nose where the scratch had landed. She must finish this quickly. She must win. Her trainer would be proud of her..
Biting her lip once more, like it was a habit, Dansu quickly tossed up the first attack she could think of that Darkly was capable of. "Do an ember attack Darkly!" She twiddled around with her fingers, gulping loudly. A little more. Just a tiny bit more.
And instantly, the pokemon obeyed. She repeated what she had done previously when she first did an ember attack, breathing in and out until a flame came out, directed towards her opponent.

Damage done to Buddy: 2 < Darn it!
Buddy's HP: 8 - 2 = 6 HP left
It seems to have failed us both. XD ))

It seems both pokemon were getting tired; Darkly's Ember wasn't as strong as her earlier one. Buddy again twisted to the side before the attack hit, so the small fireball grazed his stomach instead of hitting him full-on.
The attack may not have hit Buddy hard, but Mew could tell that any hit hurt him badly when he was this hurt and tired. She hoped the next attack would end it, because both pokemon could dearly use some rest. Not wanting to take the risk that Buddy's Ember would be weakened like Darkly's had been, she called, "You're doing great. Buddy. Now Scratch her once more."
He nodded tiredly, then once more raised his claws and slashed as strongly as he could at Darkly.
