In this thread, I will make a list of all information about the movie, clues, rumors, things proven false, and anything else that I have not listed, but still relating to the movie.
First off, I’d like to give my thanks to NightOwl, who has made quite a few useful videos about his speculations about the movie. Very nice, and I suggest you look into them. A link will be given below. Also, this guild has given me a few ideas, so my thanks are here too.

Trailer Description
So far, the only trailer released is the "Teaser Trailer" including the party, the roar, and the Statue of Liberty's head. Here is a link to the trailer, along with a forum discussing it:

Now, I have spent some time looking through the trailer, and have found a few things (Some of these have been with the help of others, such as NightOwl):
First, if you go about 47 seconds into the trailer, right after the lights go out, you can see a banner on the wall with the letters "AKM" on it. Also, there's a squarish piece of paper on the wall next to it. No clue what either of these are.
Second, if you move on to 48 seconds into the trailer (Big jump, I know), you'll see the NY 1 broadcast. 63 Degrees out on January 8th? I doubt it... You can also see a time, which I believe says 12:32 AM that morning. I also noticed something just above the actual TV, which I'm not sure if it's important or not.
Third, There is a possibility of a lion seen in the explosion that can be seen about 1 minute and 4 seconds into the video. I have yet to see it on my own, but I have seen a picture of it.
Fourth, at about 1:12 in the video, a piece of debris hits a nearby building, lighting up the phrase "2004 ACE". Code, or special meaning, perhaps?
Fifth, as the Statue of Liberty soars toward the people on the street, you can see the letters "RUB" on a building to the left. It can be viewed about 1:31 into the video.
Sixth, and last, is "ABZ 3293". A car is hit by either the Statue of Liberty or another piece of debris, and the license plate says "ABZ 3293." What this means, I'm not sure. This happens about 1:36 into the video.

JJ Abrams:
JJ Abrams is known to create clues. In "Lost", every action, symbol, sound, place, everything meant something. It was important, and needed to be remembered for the entire picture to be seen.
On another note, Abrams has been known to mislead. Things that originally meant something really meant something entirely different in the end. That's how he makes his films, and that is how I believe "1-18-08" will be.
At Comic Con, JJ Abrams released some information about the movie:

The Poster
As far as my knowledge reaches, four posters have been released to this date. Here is a link to each one:

Three of the four posters, as you can see above, have a different word stretching across the top. There is no doubt in my mind that they describe the monster/thing that attacks New York City. Thus, we know that the monster is "Monstrous, Furious, and Terrifying".
Things I have seen in the poster:
After many examinations, I believe that all four posters are just the same poster with different tints of color, along with different words on the top. For this reason, I only saw fit that I looked at the first poster, which had no word at the top. Since all four are basically the same, the result of the search would reveal the same results. Here is what I found:

Now, onto the details...
First off, the posters are taken during either sunrise or sunset. I have heard a bit of debate as to which, but in my opinion, it is during sunrise. There is still debris falling from statue of liberty, which means that the picture must have been taken just after the attack. The most ideal time would be the morning after the attack.
This, however, reveals another problem. There seems to be a trail just behind "1-18-08", as if the monster just left or just went toward the Statue of Liberty. This would not make any sense at all, since the head of the Statue of Liberty was seen being thrown at the beginning of the attack. This means that the poster should have been taken during that night, which obviously isn't true.
Then, there's the approach of the monster. There has been much debate as to where the monster came from in the poster. Some say that because of the angle of the claw marks on the buildings, it must have headed toward the Statue of Liberty from inside the city. Others say that it must have come from the water into the city for that exact same reason. I personally think that it came from the Statue of Liberty, and I say this because of the wake in the water. Until I see otherwise, that is my opinion on the matter.
Another thing, although I'm not sure how important it is, is why would it enter the city from this spot? Anything special in that section of New York City? Any information would be appreciated here.
Lastly, I have heard a few strange and bizarre rumors. First is the Toad Theory. Someone has recommended that the monster is a "Fire-breathing Toad that came from the sky", and has drawn up a picture for reference. I, personally, believe this is insanely false. But, I'll let you decide... Here is the reference picture that was given:

Another theory is the Whale Theory. Although I do not know much about this theory, I will explain what I do know. Please, and I mean please correct me if I am wrong here. Some people think that a whale has come to destroy New York City, and that it roars like a lion. I am not sure how they explain it ripping the head of the Statue of Liberty off, and throwing it,, or the big explosion. Sounds almost as ridiculous as the Toad Theory to me. 1-18-08.com
1-18-08.com is the main website of "Cloverfield". It contains pictures of the night of the attack, and if you look closely, a few things can be gained from them. And, for this section, I will be moving along in order of picture, arranged by the time of the photo.
The first picture was taken at 12:01 AM. It has a picture of Robby, Jason, and a few other people standing in front of a banner that says "We'll miss you!" in capital letters. On the back, it says "Don't forget who takes care of you! Love J".
A few different things can be taken from this. First, if you are looking at the side with the picture, and flip it over, a number sequence can be made out; 6551773. A phone number, possibly? A code? Or just random coincidence?
Second, on the side with the writing, a few things stick out. "s care" is slightly smudged, and the word "you!" is about 1/3 of an inch lower than the rest. These could be caused by anything, but could also have a meaning.
The second picture was taken at 12:04 AM. It is a picture of Robby, Jamie, and Hudson, all having a good time at the party. On the back, it says:Quote: Lascano, Platt and Robbie - Jan 2008 Robbie, Here, use this photo to send a message of my hotness far and wide!!! I'm gonna miss the hell out of ya!! Love, Jamie
Again, a few things can be noticed from this. Jamie, or someone else, seems to have a camera or other recording device in their hand, and a corner of it can be seen at the top-left corner of the picture. It has the letters "HD" printed on it.
If you flip it over, and look at the text, there seems to be a piece of scotch tape over the names at the top. Another thing, the letters "and w" are also smudged, just like in the first photo. And lastly, it has been noted that Jamie spells Robby's name with an "ie" instead of a "y", but the reason is unknown.
The third picture was taken at 12:36 AM. It shows an image of two girls, although what they are doing is beyond me. It looks to me as if they are looking upward at something, possibly the monster or the Statue of Liberty's head. Also, it looks as though either they were both crying, or they have sustained facial injuries, because their eyes are bloodshot and they look rather black to me.
Also, the picture takes place 4 minutes after the newscast, which happened just after the first roar and the brief power outage in the trailer. This makes me believe that either these two people are out on the street somewhere, or the trailer had a time-skip in it which skipped over the period of time when this picture was taken.
The fourth picture was taken at 12:48 AM. In this picture, there are people surrounded by a dust or a fog of some sort. The people cannot be identified as anyone of huge significance.
I believe that the whitish substance surrounding the people is indeed dust, and is caused by a building being shattered or collapsing. Only four people seem to be leaving the area, and of them, only one is running. The two ladies on the right seem to be in a brisk walk, and the shadow-of-a-person that rests just to the left of the ladies doesn't seem to be moving at all, but instead, holding a rifle or "eating a sandwich". There are also a few things on the ground, but I am not aware of what they are.
The fifth and final picture was taken at 1:24 AM. It shows a woman running away, as well as a Police Officer, a man from the Armed Forces, and a blue car. The Army man has a rifle with him, and seems to be talking with the Police Officer. Other than a pinkish blob at the bottom left, and the column of light on the left side of the picture, not much else can be seen.

Clues and Ideas
These are Clues that I have seen, although I do not know what they are clues to, because that is yet to be discovered. Each clue will be followed by where I have found it in parenthesis:

Here, I will explain how each of them are related to the movie, and my opinion on them:
-"AKM"
This was seen in the trailer, on a banner that hangs sideways. For details, see the "Trailer Description" above.
As far as I know, this only has slight relevance to the movie. When searched on Wikipedia, it came up with an article on the The Aga Khan Museum in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, which is where Lily Ford was born. Also, the search informed me that an AKM is a modified type of AK-47, which would be my first guess as to what type of gun the Army man from Photo 5 on 1-18-08 was holding.
-"Alive/A lion" Debate
The debate over the line "I saw it! It's alive/a lion! It's huge!" has stretched from when the trailer was first released. Many people have tried to figure out what that man really said, but in my opinion, there will always be that hint of doubt. I've heard recently that it's official that he said "alive", and not "lion", but with my speakers, I can hear both sides of the debate equally.
-"ABZ 3293".
This was the lisence plate on one of the cars that was smashed by the Statue of Liberty's head in the trailer. There isn't much on this, other than a passage from abz3293.com, which reads:Quote: I am in need of the driver of an SUV - New York Plate ABZ 3293 He has an item, that is considered a family heirloom. If you know who this person is, or where I could find him please leave a comment.
Other than that, there is no news about "ABZ 3293". More information on the website itself can be read below.
-The Monster Debate
I have seen various pictures of what peoples' ideas are on the monster. One of the more convincing ones was a picture from the trailer, when the explosion happened. It shows the explosion, but if you look a bit closer, you can see the face of a lion inside the explosion. That would explain the roars and such, but I'm not completely sure how accurate this is. It could have been photo shopped, after all.
-Smudged Letters on Pictures
There are two examples of smudged writing on the backs of the pictures placed on 1-18-08.com. Together, they spell "and w s care". Nothing interesting right there...
So I decided to run it through an anagram decoder. These are the interesting results I found:

Confirmed as a site related to the movie, I decided to check it out a bit. I discovered the usual things, such as how the animals think different things and the crab changes faces when you click on him. The source code revealed nothing of use.
At the bottom, it says "Slusho! You can't drink just six!" I wasn't sure what to do with this one, so I decided to run it through the same anagram decoder that I used for the smudged letters. This time, I found something extremely interesting...

As far as I know, this website isn't officially related to the movie yet. But, I thought it'd be worth the effort if I looked into it.
There definitely is a connection with the lisence plate and the passage on the website. Other than that, I haven't found much.
One of the other posts just says '“Like a poor marksman, you keep missing the target” - Wrath of Kahn - 1982'. This is a quote from Wrath of Khan, a Star Trek movie/season. In it, Khan is trying to murder someone, but keeps killing other people instead. The man who he is trying to murder says '“Like a poor marksman, you keep missing the target”'. Maybe this means that the monster is aiming for one specific target in the movie, but cannot reach that target?

Now, I've heard some ideas about the movie that I think are worth mentioning:

-The Three Great Monsters
In Jewish mythology (Correct me if I'm wrong), there are three great monsters, each controlling a different section of earth. There's Behemoth, who controls the ground, Leviathan, who controls the sea, and Ziz, who controls the sky.
According to my sources, these monsters are related to the movie as follows:
"1) The first monster roar is accompanied by an earthquake (Behemoth)
2) The second monster roar is accompanied by a huge fireball (Leviathan, for it can breathe fire)
3) The third monster roar is accompanied by the flying Statue of Liberty head (Ziz)."
Also, there are references to these three monsters on Slusho.com. The backgrounds include land, sea, and space, which signify Behemoth, Leviathan, and Ziz respectively. Also, the donkey/horse is Behemoth, the Whale is Leviathan, and the duck is Ziz.
The only doubt that I have about this is that JJ Abrams said that these monsters were origional, which in my opinion, means something completely new. Although there haven't been many/any movies about these beasts made in America, I still don't think that these are the monster/s.

This post will consist of all information on any leads that I believe to be false.
-Godzilla
-Mothra
-Whale
-Power Rangers, Pokemon, and any other ridiculous ideas
-Godzilla
Godzilla, the huge Japanese monster that terrorizes Tokyo every few years, although it has died almost every time. Rumors have gone around saying that "Cloverfield" is indeed a new Godzilla movie, but alas, it is not. The name of Godzilla is owned by Toho Interprizes, and there will not be another Godzilla movie until 2013.
-Mothra
Along the same lines, Mothra is a part of the Godzilla movie chain, and will not be in this movie. This is also false.
-Whale
Although there is a possibility of the Three Beasts being the subject of this movie, I believe that the concept of just a whale invading New York City is completely false. Reasons are a few posts up.
-Power Rangers, Pokemon, and any other ridiculous ideas
JJ Abrams said it will not be a re-make of any thing made so far, so these are impossible. As much as I would love to see a live action movie of Pokemon, it will not be happening on 1-18-08.
