Is anyone familiar with a type of scrying done with a black mirror, red letters, and a white board?
A friend of mine's uncle bought a book of evocation and is attempting some sort of scrying. We're trying to decide wither or not we need to tell him to knock it off.

i know of using a black mirror, but the rest i'm not sure of at all.

same here. I have never once heard of the three being used together, though red is ofte nsymbolic of something you should not be messign with.

Sounds to me like he's communing, though I find the color of the letters to be insignificant; he's probably communing through the mirror, using the whiteboard and the letters to scribe what he sees. While communing with the other side (Spirit Realm, or whatever you chose to call it) is often risky, if he's careful and knows what he's doing, there is nothing to worry about.

Scrying is one of my first spoken spells. I love this for it shows you who you really are. This is a really good tool. I will admit it is not for the faint of heart. I can show past life regression, and many don't use it for it shows things that cause trauma. But he sounds like he is looking for answer. I don't believe in weggi boards and things of that nature. But this is a great way to look into the umbra.
(Umbra is the land of the dead) Also it can make a door to the Lord and Lady, keep in mind this helps strengthen your minds eye, and empowers your aura. I hope this help.

Ouija boards are questionable, but I've used them, and they work. the problem is that you can never be sure who it is that you're talking to.

I believe this thread has potential, but to keep everything clean and neat I will move it to the School Sub Forum.
I will move it in 2 days.
and on a side note,
anyone know of an easy way to scry, and one that is relativly easy for beginners...my best friend ( name will nto be disclosed ) wants to try it..i laughed but said i will look into it for her..i am nto the one who normally does scrying..but hey, if i leanr a new thing or two as welll then what sihte harm..tho i will be there(with my friend , just so she is not alone.) just incase of somethign bad was to happen..tho i dont think i am much of a help against anything..still..there none the less.

I have read your in the past, and it helped clear somethings up, but i still ahve questions, and i just need help with it... thread was a GREAT help, and so was your information...tho..i just need more info and the basics, and the like..if you can help me..PLEASE pm me and i will say more.
