 Umbra hugged solid tightly letting the pokemon's rocky exterior bite into her skin as she did so. " We can do this solid and it won't be a slugging match this time, we can take them I promise." Perhaps if she reasurred her pokemon beforehand things would go better right from the start.
" Geo geo" Solid replied while returning the huge before floating out of Umbra's arm. The instance she was above the field her coal black eyes hardened and she was all seriously business.
" Start with a rock punch." Umbra called out. It was the move that had the most luck with.
Solid bobbed her body in a nod and then surged forward. one rocky arm held back ready to thrust forward at the last second for a hard punch.

Piney watched as the Geodude slugged her Pikachu with a rock punch, clutching to the rail tightly. It was his first battle and she hoped all would go well... "Be careful! Use Iron tail now!" Thunder stood his ground against the punch and whirled his steel-hard tail around. "Pika!" ((HP: 29/31 5 damage done))

Solid watched the glowing tail descend upon herself but there was little she could do. Her opponent was so low to the ground that he had to follow it there and was thus stuck between ground and attack. " Geeooo" She groaned as she was slammed into the ground.
Umbra sighed, first exchange and already thing's weren't going well. " Ok solid shake it off and slam"
Solid would have proffered something from a distance but had to obey. She rose from the area floor and rushed the yellow rodent pokemon.

"Pikaaaaaaa!" Thunder rose into the air and fell to the ground with a dull thud. He didn't stay down low for long though, and got back up on his feet almost instantly. "Thunder! Are you ok?" Piney shouted from above. He nodded and gave his opponent a glare. "Alright! Give it all you got with Thunder!" The Pikachu's cheecks glowed as he squeezed them and launched electricity up into the air. A gigantic thunderbolt came down from the air and streaked towards the Geodude. ((HP: 24/31 2 damage done))

Lightening moves at the speed of light and is dam hard to dodge. Solid never had a shot at avoiding it. She was struck on but fortunately suffer only heated skin and minor damage. Nothing that would have longstanding effects.
Umbra grinned, things were looking up " Slam again, that little pipsqueak can't take you girl." Umbra had no problem with the other pokemon or trainer but she had to encourage solid at any cost.
Solid gave a sigh but bobbed her body in a nod and sweapt towards the pikachu a determined glint in her coal black eyes.

Thunder gripped the ground as much as he could with his small paws, bracing himself for the slam, but was still launched into the air slightly and smashed into the wall. He didn't want to show it but he was definetly starting to weaken. "The battle isn't over yet! Let's try another Iron Tail!" Hearing his trainer's command, he got back up and growled before leaping into the air. Thunder hurled himself towards the Geodude, tail outstretched and ready to give a good beating. ((HP: 19/31 1 damage done))

" Dodge , then rock punch" Umbra ordered. This opponent was not nearly as formidable as the Dratini they had recently faced. A good battler but it's speed and attacks weren't showing at the moment.
Solid had given a little cheer and victory dance in the air of her recent success. She tried to swerve way from the tail but still got nicked and shoved backwards anyways.
Her eyes a bit watery from the brightness of the iron tail she shot am arm out in a swift punch but wasn't sure if she could connect.

After putting his energy into the Iron Tail, Thunder couldn't do much but take the rock punch. Knocked backwards, he crashed into the wall again and let loose a small whimper. "No!" Piney shrieked. "We're not giving up yet! Use a Quick attack!" Attempting not to wince as the Pikachu recovered from the blow, he darted at the Geodude in a zig-zag motion. ((HP: 12/31 6 damage done))

" Oh bugger, Solid just bear it then rockpunch." Umbra called out. There was no point in avoiding the attack and besides it would leave the pikachu wide open for a point blank hit.
Solid grunted in acknowledgment and let herself be shoved backwards by the attack. the area floor probably didn't appreciate the small furrow she left in it She cocked a fist back then threw it forward with every intent of boxing her opponent between the eyes.

Thunder was punched straight into the gut and let loose a loud "Pikachu!" before falling to the floor. Trying not to mind the scratches and bruises, he scurried to his feet and charged at his opponent. "Thunder! Quit it! I know you want to maul the Geodude to death but that's not going to work!" Piney was getting exasperated, but knew that another physical attack would leave him open for another punch. The Pikachu screeched to a halt and stared at his trainer. "Pika?" "Use a Thunder Wave attack instead!" Getting up on his forelegs, Thunder squeezed his cheeks and released several odd bolts of electricity. ((HP: 7/31 ))

" Geo geo dude duuude" Solid taunted her opponent. This was going to be her victory she just knew it was, all those other failures were in the past.
Or not. Solid had no clue what to due about the wall of electricity headed her way. Based on Umbra's silence she didn't either.
With a soft groan she felt the sparks drop on her like rain making it feel as those hard needles were poking her all over. Fortunately the assult was breif.
Picking up bits of disturbed flooring Solid tossed the rocks at the pikachu. Nowhere was far enough to escape her wrath.

Thunder quickly dodged some of the rocks thrown at him, but couldn't escape from one. Buried under the debris, he sluggishly destroyed the rock with bolts of electricity. After he freed himself of the rock, another one soared above him and crushed him again. Piney could tell by his lagging attempts to get free that he wouldn't survive the next attack. And there was no way he could knock the Geodude out in a single hit. But they could still go down with a fight. "Come on Thunder! Strike her with a blast of Thunder!" Using all his might to keep his balance, he closed his eyes and summoned a large bolt that went straight at the Geodude. ((HP: 1/31 4 damage done))

Solid firmly wished she knew some sort of tunneling attack. Once again she had an attack she couldn't dodge. The thunder was bright yellow laced with white and it caused a similar colour to flash before Solid's eyes as she was struck.
Umbra winced at the hit but wasn't concerned the pikachu was on it's last legs. " Solid finish this with a final slam." Umbra hoped solid could also sense her opponents state. She wanted to win yes but overkill was not a nice thing and she didn't want Solid taking her last attack too far.
Solid grunted and surged forward, victory was hers she was sure of it. Of course that last attack had left her a bit dizzy and the force behind her slam was unknown even to her as she hurtled through the air.

Thunder didn't attempt to dodge or block the Geodude's slam. His remaining energy was used to fuel the Thunder attack and took the attack. Rolling across the stadium floor, he had nothing left to enable him to rise onto his feet. Piney stared at the fainted Thunder and sighed. Reaching into her backpack. she took out his Pokeball and recalled him. "You did a fabulous job." Turning to Umbra, she smiled at her as she walked out the door. "That was an amazing battle. Hope we can fight again some other time." ((HP: 0/31))
