 Popai stepped into the Battlegrounds without fear, surprisingly. He had been in here a couple of times, so he felt like it was just like normal. He tried to look cool, but ended up looking like a retard... He reached into his pocket and grasped a Pokeball. "Go, Mimi!" Popai yelled. Out came a tiny caterpillar. "This is your first battle, aren't you excited?" Popai said softly. Mimi shook his head in disagreement, but he looked like he really wanted to battle. Popai didn't want to waste any more time, so he commanded an attack. "Okay, then. Use String Shot!" HP: 30/30 2 Damage

A young girl of seventeen walked onto the Battlegrounds with confidence, a Pikachu wearing a big pink bow perched on her trainers head. Emi had already battled against a Houndour and turned out the victor, so this wasn't her turn to battle. No, Spinel reached for her belt and plucked a blue, red and white ball, pressing the button so the greatball enlarged. "Alright Brick, here goes your first battle." With that she threw the greatball in the arena, she had a pretty good arm.
When the greatball hit it opened to reveal a flash of white light. The light changed in the shape of a boulder hovering in the air, the white light turning to a rock brown. "Geodude!" Brick replied. THe string shot hit almost immediately, hitting him in the eye. But Brick was a hardy type, it didn't seem to bother him at all.
"Brick use Focus Punch!" Spinel commanded, pointing at the little caterpiller on the field.
His right hand began to glow white and he pulled his arm back, rushing over the field to the Caterpie and thrusting his arm forward when he was close enough.

Stunned by looking at the fist, Mimi scurried away. Unfortunately, Mimi was so small, it was easy to punch him flat. The punch hit Mimi on the tail, and he flew into the sky, flipping and panicking. The landed on the ground with a loud thump. Mimi started crying and and ran away slowly. "NO!" Popai yelled. "I believe in you, give it all you got." Popai said softly. Mimi shook his head, but slowly, it changed into a nod. "Tackle, now!" Popai said. Caterpie started charging speed by moving his tiny feet swiftly. He then charged swiftly and hopes to attack the foe. HP: 27/30 4 Damage.

"Great job Brick!" Spinel cheered, Emi calling out in reassurance as well for her teammate.
Brick saw the Caterpie charging but made no move to get out of the way. How much could it hurt, honestly? It was a little bug!
"Brick get out of the way! Ignore the size!"
Too late. Mimi struck him between the eyes and sent him back a couple inches. Not too bad, but it was a harder hit than before. He shook it off just as easily and waited for his next command.
"Brick, use Stone Edge! Hit 'em where it hurts!" Spinel called out, Emi watching the battle intently to gleam any lesson from it.
"Geo!" He replied, the outsides of his arms flattening out into sharp edges. He dove down on the Caterpie, intent on slashing the small bug.

"Oh no! He's gonna get you! Dodge it, Mimi!" Popai screamed. Once again, the speed of the little bug wasn't fast enough. Brick came and charged with his sharp edges. "Eek!" Mimi shrieked. It was off a little bit, so it didn't hurt as much. Even with that, Mimi was covered with scars and scratches. "Ugh. Scratches..." Popai said, horrified. Popai was determined, and so was his fellow Pokemon. "Ugh." Popai said, flipping swiftly through his attack booklet. There were only two attacks which were both used... "Okay, fine then. Mimi, use Tackle again!" HP: 24/30 7 Damage.

By the way Mimi was charging it was very clear that this hit could be stronger than the previous ones put together. "Quick! Get out of the way!"
Brick was still recovering from striking mainly the ground from his last attack and was hit by the charging Caterpie in the side of his head, which was more like a body with eyes and a mouth and arms coming out the side. Dang that was one powerful Caterpie!
"I told you to ignore the size! See how powerful they can be?" His trainer called to him before issuing the next command. "Use Brick Break!" Funny that he had an attack that included his name, and meant breaking...well, himself. Oh well.
The Geodudes hand opened and stiffened as he brought it down powerfully at Mimi, hoping this would be a much better hit than his own previous attacks.

"Ngh! Dodge it, Mimi!" Popai said. Unfortunately, Mimi became cocky, and didn't realize that the hand was coming to squish him like a tiny mosquito. The hand came, and hit him down hard. Mimi was squished, and no where to be seen. He was somewhere under the hand. "Mimi! Mimi!" Popai cried. Luckily, Mimi came out from the hand by squeezing under the hand. Being tiny was actually a good thing. Mimi was dizzy, but determined. "Alright, you're doing fine so far! Use String Shot!" HP: 19/30 1 Damage.

Brick grinned at the success of the hit. So far that was the most powerful, perhaps it would be usefull once more. But wait...where did the Caterpie go?! Mimi squeezed out from under the Geodudes hand and scared him. "Geodude!" He shouted in shock, jumping back a foot or two before being hit with another string shot. That attack wasn't very strong, easy to shake off.
"Attack with Earthquake!" Spinel would have felt very guilty if Brick squished Mimi, and she was relieved to see him come out ok. Well, sort of ok.
The Geodude rose high in the air and plummeted back down to the arena floor, the impact causing the earth to shift and quake. Spinel and Emi fell over from it.

"Wh-whoooaaa-wow!" Popai said, stunned by the power of the quake. Mimi walked onto a piece of earth where it isn't cracked. He was unaware that the crack had come up, and Mimi dived into the crack. "Where's Mimi?!" Popai screamed with fear. A few minutes later, Mimi climbed up the crack, shivering with fear. It wasn't very deep, so it didn't hurt as much. "We must get them back! Tackle, now!"
HP: 14/30

This little Caterpie was powerful little devil, unless he used string shot. He had good strong tackles, and this one rolled Brick a couple feet away.
"Use Focus Punch again!"
His hand glowed white again and pulled it back, rushing at Mimi again. When he was in close range he thrust his arm forward, aiming at the Caterpie's head.

"Ack! Dodge it, Mimi!" Popai yelled. I seemed much stronger this time. But it was too late. It hit Mimi's whole body. Mimi shrieked while he was pummeled into the ground. He looked flat for a second, but then he looked 3D once again. Mimi was extremely dizzy this time, and he was seriously injured. He looked as if he wasn't hurt at all, thought. "Get them back with String Shot!" Popai screamed. Mimi shot a white string around Geodude. HP: 7/30 3 Damage.

"Awesome job Brick, that was your strongest hit yet!" Spinel cheered along with Emi and her big pink bow at her feet.
The string shot wrapped around the Geodude's body, stinging his eye a bit as he forgot to close them.
"Brick use Stone Edge again!"
The sides of his arms once again flattened into sharp edges that broke the silky string, and he plummeted down at the Caterpie. He was so close to winning this battle he could feel it!

"Oh, no!" Popai said. The cut that afflicted him badly. Mimi was almost out of the game, in fact, he already was. Still, he wanted to battle, anyway. "Okay... then. If you really want to." Popai whispered. Mimi nodded and used tackle by himself. HP: 1/30 3 Damage

"Great job Brick! You're doing really well for your first battle!"
Due to the weak state of his opponant the tackle almost glanced off. But because Brick himself was getting tired it was harder to recover this time.
"Use Brick Break again!" Spinel said, knowing the battle was in the bag, they had won.
Bricks hand opened and stiffened once more, turning it on it's side and bringing it down on the Caterpie who had put up an amazing battle.

Mimi was too weak to move. Once again, he was chopped. He shrieked, and then fainted swiftly. Popai ran to him, and sang a lullaby softly. He held the Caterpie in his hands, while running to the trainer and her Pokemon. "You put up a good fight. Congrats." He said with a grin.

THE WINNER IS BRICK.
