A seventeen year old girl walked confidently into the battledome arena, arms swinging as she walked. There was a Pikachu on her shoulder and two pokeballs and a greatball on her belt. One of the pokeballs was empty, as it was the Pikachus, but the other two balls held pokemon. "Alright, let's do this. Emi, you've battled enough for now, it's Magnet's turn." With that she reached down and plucked the red and white pokeball from her belt and threw it into the arena.
In a blaze of white light formed a Magnemite, floating in the air. Magnet wasn't really a serious battler, and it was easy to tell by how he floated around happily.
"Magnet get your act together, this is a battle! Use Sonicboom!"
"Magne magnemite!" He responded, aiming an attack that could barely be seen at his opponent.

" Solid, Oi Solid, dodge dammit don't rush into the stupid thing" Umbra sighed as she watched the mudbrown coloured Geodude float right into the oncoming attack getting buffeted by it slightly. Solid was a stubborn little thing and refused to understand that she could get hurt.
" Fine go for a tackle" She said with another sigh. Figured her first pokemon was troublesome one.
Solid grinned and continued to rush foreward aiming for the shiny silver electric/steel type.

The floating magnetic ball tried to dodge the Geodudes tackle, but as it was getting out of the way Solid struck one of his magnets. "Magnem!" He shouted in shock. It didn't hurt that much, but still, it was shocking for him. He didn't wait for his trainer to tell him what to do next, he retaliated with a Gyro Ball. A silver cannon-sized ball formed inches away from the Magnemite, having a slight elcectric current around it. Magnet blasted at the Geodude in a relatively short range.
"Magnet! Listen for me! I didn't say to use that!" Spinel called out in slight frustration. It was going to be much harder rasing Magnet than Emi, she just hoped Brick would be better.

" Well now that's what you get isn't it" Umbra drawled. There was concern in her voice but also reproach. Solid should have known that a head on tackle put it in rage for a point blank shot. Clearly they needed to to do some more tactics lessons.
Solid gave a grunt of pain as she was blasted backwards and decided that if she was going to be insulted then she was darn well going to do things on her own. Besides her opponent wasn't waiting.
In a fit of anger she rushed forward again and aimed a punch at the magnemites eye.
Damage 7.

"Magnet! What the hell are you doing?" She couldn't believe what she was seeing her Magnemite do.
It was out there on the battlefield, happy as a clam as it bounced up and down on the ground and ultimately not paying attention to what was going on.
"Magnet look out!" Too late.
The rock hard fist of the Geodude had punched him right in the eye, Magnet crying out in pain as it ran around, actually crying.
Spinel smacked herself in the face. Why did she choose to use Magnet, anyways? "Pull yourself together man! Use Gyro Ball again!"
Magnet stopped crying and turned around to face Solid. If he wasn't made of steel he'd more than likely have a black eye. Once more the silver cannonball formed inches away from Magnet, the small electric current able to be seen. In moments it was propelled at the Geodude, his one eye narrowed.

" Nice shot Solid there you go, keep it up that's my girl." Perhaps encouraging the Geodude when she did well would help as well as constructive criticism. Umbra hoped so at least, solid needed any edge she could get.
Solid gave a cheeky grin and a little victory dance in midair. However taking her eyes off her opponent proved to be a bad decision as she was a blown across the field again.
" Solid It's ok just shake it off and punch again, that attack was weaker than the last. Aim for the eye again."
Solid unacknowledged the order and circled her opponent before aiming both fist at the eye hoping for one to connect.

The Magnite panicked and turned to run from the Geodude, not wanting to get punched in the eye again. "Magne magne magne magne!" It said as it franticly floated away, only to be punched from behind this time and knocked into the arena floor. This time he was mad, he had had enough.
Before Magnemite could do anything Spinel issued a quick command. "Magnemite use Soncboom!" She exclaimed, hoping he would actually do it.
And yes, he did. He turned around, an angry gleam in his eye as the air compressed and created a sonicboom. The only way you might be able to see it is by the way the ground bent when you looked into it. It was still rather hard to see, though, even for Magnet.

" Ok Solid you've got him on the ropes but don't lose focus now. Slam him into the ground." Umbra called out with glee. She was a competition junkie and she was enjoying this fight.
Solid nodded and barreled through the air toward the spec that was the Magnemite on the ground. The Geodude was a blur of brown though some tawny dust blew off her when the Sonic boom hit. It hurt but was ignorable and she continued on determined to win.

"Magnemite!" He cried out in pain as he was slammed into the ground. That slam had to have been Solid's most powerful hit so far, and Magnet felt it.
"No! Magnet!" Spinel exclaimed, taking a step closer and raising her arms like she was going to run onto the field and pick him up, save him from the Geodude. But she didn't, she would be disqualified if she did that, and she rather lose than be diaqualified. "Magnet are you all right?"
When the Geodude moved Magnet was embedded in the ground, stars flying around his head. He got up and shook his...well, body.
"That's right Magnet, shake it off, you can do it! Attack with Magnet Bomb!"

" Much love Solid much love" Umbra cheered. Things were going great and that slam had been killer. There no way they could lose now right? Right? What was magnet bomb?
" You're on your own solid" She called having no clue what to advise.
Solid and aimed for another Slam, it was the best thing she knew how to do. She would persevere through whatever sort of explosion a magnet bomb was.

"Awesome job Magnet!" Spinel cheered, delighted at the success of the hit.
The Geodude had a hard time recovering from it, and it's next attempt was a little sloppy. Tired from all the damage he'd taken he tried to get out of the way of the tackle, and barely so. He was nicked on one of his magnets as he attempted to get away.
"Magnet use Gyro Ball again!" She shouted, hoping desperately that this would be the last hit Solid would be able to handle.
The silver ball formed for a third time and was shot at the Geodude.

Sold was rocked by the blast and slammed into a wall roughly. It was a tipsy geodude that floated barely an inch of the ground once she recovered.
Umbra winced this was bad, she wanted to throw in the towel But solid had a gleam in her eye , some fight left. It would be wrong to deprive her of one last shot.
" One more rock punch Solid you can do it" she called out.
With everything she had left solid lurched forward and threw a punch aiming one more time for that single eye.

"That's great Magnet! Keep it up!" The trainer called out to her Pokemon as another good hit landed. But, all things must eventually come to an end.
Magnet tried to get away, but that last attack left him weaker than before. He tried to get away from the Geodudes rock hard punch, but he was too slow. The contact was powerful, and it knocked the Magnemite clear across the arena, bouncing and coming to a stop feet away from Spinel.
"Oh no! Magnet!" She called, running onto the field and picking up her Pokemon. Well, there was really no point in trying to talk to it, it had fainted, a little swirl in his eye. "You did well for your first battle." She said before taking his pokeball and recalling him, a bolt of red light taking him. The Pikachu didn't quite know what to think, other than Magnet being a horrible fighter unless he could stop goofing around and actually concentrate on the fight.
With a smile she stood up and walked over to the other trainer, holding out a hand to shake. "That was a great battle, thank you. Magnet and I have a lot of training to do. My name's Spinel, look me up if you ever want to battle again."

Umbra had been surprised by the power in Solid's last ditch attack. It had connected well and let her the clear victor. Of course it had also left the Geodude dragging across the ground near ready to faint herself. " Good job Solid" she called before recalling her. Solid raised an arm in victory before becoming a crimson outline and dissapearing into her pokeball.
Umbra listened to Spinel then nodding while shaking the offered hand " Thanks, I'm Umbra and I'd love another fight someday. Solid and I have work to do as well." They might have won this battle but there would be more tough opponents ahead and luck did tend to run out .
