Hello all. I am curious if anyone would be interested in helping me create movesets for my dream team I am constructing in Pokemon Diamond. Once it's complete, I can finally start doing some Wi-Fi Battles. Only reason I haven't done any Wi-Fi connectivity yet is because I want to be ready for what might come at me. So, here are my pokemon (I don't really mind what abilities they come with):
Empoleon – Water/Steel Torrent - Hydro Pump - Surf - Drill Peck - Steel Wing
Magnezone – Electric/Steel Magnet Pull // Sturdy - Magnet Rise - Discharge - Zap Cannon - Flash Cannon
Drapion – Poison/Dark Sniper // Battle Armor - Cross Poison - Toxic - Aerial Ace - Ice Fang
Swampert – Water/Ground Torrent - Rock Slide - Muddy Water - Earthquake - Ice Beam
Scizor – Bug/Steel Technician // Swarm - Iron Head - Brick Break - X-Scissor - Night Slash
Flygon – Dragon/Ground Levitate - Dragonbreath - Flamethrower - Sandstorm - Fly
Please PM me with any suggestions or comments you may have. Every little bit helps!

Nintendude331 Hello all. So, here are my pokemon (I don't really mind what abilities they come with): Empoleon – Water/Steel Torrent Nature: Bold Item: Wise Glasses/Leftovers 252 EVs Defense 124 EVs Special Attack 128 EVs Special Defense (You can change the EV distribution however you like. It doesn't really matter.)- Hydro Pump Ice Beam- Surf /Water Pulse/Brine- Drill Peck Aqua Ring - Steel Wing Flash Cannon Role: Special Tank/Recovery
Empoleon's greatest stat is Special Attack, so you want to teach it special moves. Drill Peck and Steel Wing are physical attacks, so I replaced them with other moves. You shouldn't have more than one move of the same type (unless its categorized as "other"), so I replaced Hydro Pump with Ice Beam. Hydro Pump doesn't have that great of an accuracy anyway. Surf is a good move, but you may also want to put in Water Pulse or Brine because Surf hits your partner as well. I suggest that if you choose to put surf on Empoleon, have at least one or two of your other Pokemon learn Protect.
Empoleon's Special Defense is its second highest stat, and Defense is the third highest. Because of this, I suggest you EV train it in said stats. Empoleon doesn't have the speed to be a sweeper, so it's mainly a Pokemon that can dish out strong Special Attacks and take quite a few of the opponent's attacks as well. A strategy I integrated into the mix was recovery; Aqua Ring and Leftovers would be a great way to keep Empoleon in longer. If you seek strength, then give it Wise Glasses to increase Empoleon's Special Attacks' power.Magnezone – Electric/Steel Magnet Pull // v Sturdy Nature: Calm Item: Leftovers 128 EVs HP 252 EVs Defense 124 EVs Special Defense- Magnet Rise - Discharge Barrier- Zap Cannon Mirror Coat- Flash Cannon Thunder Wave Role: Annoyer
Sure, Magnezone has a high Special Attack stat, but if you wanted to use Magnet Rise, you would use up a turn. Also, if you wanted to use Zap Cannon, I would suggest using Lock-On first, but using that would take up yet another turn. Because of this, I decided to suggest an annoyer Magnezone.
First, a Pokemon isn't considered an annoyer if it doesn't have a status inflicting move, so of course Thunder Wave is there. Magnet Rise is a must for Magnezones. Barrier will raise its Defense so it can stay in longer. I also put Mirror Coat in there so you have at least one offensive move. Even though Magnezone's Special Defense is kind of low, I chose to give it the lowest amount of EVs so that it can take decent damage for a good Mirror Coat attack. Magnezone will probably be one of the last Pokemon to move, so it works out. Also, Leftovers should keep it in battle longer.Drapion – Poison/Dark Sniper // Battle Armor Nature: Jolly Item: King's Rock/Wide Lens 252 EVs Attack 124 EVs Defense 128 EVs Speed- Cross Poison /Poison Jab- Toxic Thunder Fang- Aerial Ace - Ice Fang Role: Physical Sweeper/Annoyer
Drapion's highest stat is actually Defense, so EV train in that a bit. As for Attack, train it so it has 252 EVs in Attack, since with a Jolly nature, there is no benefit for Attack. Speed, however, gets a small boost, and its base stat for Speed is a bit larger than Attack, train it so it has 128 EVs in Speed. That will hopefully even out Attack, Defense, and Speed a bit. Battle Armor in my opinion is a bit better of an ability, as Drapion won't receive any critical hits that way.
I suggest Poison Jab as an alternate for Cross Poison because Poison Jab has a higher base attack, although it loses the high critical hit ratio. However, with both moves, it has a chance for poisoning. Because of that, I replaced Toxic with Thunder Fang (just for more super-effective hits). Aerial Ace and Ice Fang are good moves to cover Drapion's weaknesses. Thunder Fang and Ice Fang each have a chance of paralyzing or freezing the opponent (respectively), so with all these chances of status inflicting, I call Drapion a Physical Sweeper and an Annoyer.
There are two good items to attach to Drapion: King's Rock and Wide Lens. Because Thunder Fang and Ice Fang both have a chance of causing the foe to flinch, King's Rock could increase that chance. Wide Lens is because Thunder Fang and Ice Fang don't have perfect accuracy, so it increases the chance of them hitting. I personally use a King's Rock, though, because Thunder Fang and Ice Fang's accuracy is 95%, which isn't that low, and the foe would find it very annoying.Swampert – Water/Ground Torrent Nature: Adamant Item: Focus Sash 252 EVs HP 252 EVs Attack 6 EVs in any other stat you want except Special Attack- Rock Slide - Muddy Water Waterfall- Earthquake - Ice Beam Avalanche Role: Physical Sweeper
So I herd u liek Mudkipz? Anyways, I am sorry if you feel that I completely screwed Swampert over. I looked at its base stats and its Attack is higher than its Special Attack, so I gave it all physical moves. The Adamant nature is for a boost in Attack and a decrease in Special Attack. I personally don't like Swampert's stat distribution. The Focus Sash is for the Grass type Pokemon that come out. It will survive a Grass type attack and can retaliate with Avalanche for double the damage.
Rock Slide and Earthquake are already good moves. Waterfall and Avalanche are just physical attacks to replace the special attacks. That's basically enough said.Scizor – Bug/Steel Technician // Swarm Nature: Impish Item: Muscle Band/Leftovers 6 EVs HP 252 EVs Attack 252 EVs Defense- Iron Head - Brick Break - X-Scissor - Night Slash Role: Physical Sweeper
If there is one Pokemon you should take out of your team, it's Scizor. Your moveset it good, but Scizor can't learn moves that are supereffective against its weaknesses (Ground and Fire). If you wanted to, though, you could replace either Brick Break or Night Slash with Swords Dance. Scizor has good Defense so you could use it in the right situation. Also, you can choose which ability you want for Scizor; both are good. That's basically all I have to say for it.Flygon – Dragon/Ground Levitate Nature: Adamant Item: Muscle Band/Wide Lens 6 EVs HP 252 EVs Attack 252 EVs Speed- Dragonbreath Dragon Claw- Flamethrower Rock Slide/Stone Edge/- Sandstorm Earthquake- Fly /Aerial Ace Role: Physical Sweeper
Flygon's base Attack stat is higher than its Special Attack base stat, so I replaced most of your moves with physical moves. Rock Slide/Stone Edge is super effective against Ice, but they're not as accurate as Flamethrower. Because of that, you may want to give Flygon a Wide Lens. If not, Muscle Band is great, too. You don't have to get rid of Fly, but Aerial Ace is also a good alternative, just not as strong. Just with an Adamant nature and proper EV training, you have yourself one very strong Flygon.
Please PM me with any suggestions or comments you may have. Every little bit helps!I'm finally done! I apologize for how long it took me, I was being lazy. sweatdrop You should definitely include Empoleon and Drapion in your team, and maybe Flygon. Magnezone you can keep in. The Pokemon I would scrap are Scizor and Swampert. You should also have a tank or two in your team. I hope this helps. biggrin

The only thing wrong is that for Empoleon, it should know either Water Pulse OR Brine, not both. So choose one, then find another move for it, as long as it's not water type (unless it's classified as "other").

I'm still unsure about my Magnezone's moves too.

Grass Knot could take care of other water types, but Water is already weak against Empoleon. I would go more towards Aqua Ring, but either is ok. As for Magnezone, its moves are fine.
