Bo stood in the arena, tapping the shape of a pokeball in the pouch at her side. Her eyes did a quick run-down of the area and her hand slipped inside the bag. Wrapping her fingers around the pokeball she pulled it out and whispered, seemingly to herself, "Ready, Matem?"
Tossing the ball out several feet infront of her, Matem's shape appeared. He lowered himself low to the ground and waited...
Bo shouted "Matem, Body Slam!"
He lunged forward, teeth barred, and let out a long howl as he rammed himself sideways into the opponent.

Spinel entered the battledome, seeing her opponent across the arena as she made her way to the trainers circle. This was her first battle, but she felt confident in her abilities. She gave Bo a challenging smile as she reached for her belt, taking the only Pokeball she had in her hand and calling across the arena when. "You ready for this?" Her arm went back, readying for the throw. In one fluid motion the white and red ball was released from her hand and, upon hitting the ground, opened. A bolt of white light emerged and formed into a Pikachu. "Alright Emi, do your thing!" "Pi pikachu!" The electric rodent replied, sparks shooting from her red cheeks. Suddenly she felt the weight of a Houndour ram into her, knocking her away. The damage was light, hardly a scratch. "Emi, use Slam!" Spinel commanded, pointing at the Houndour. With a gleam in the Pikachu's eye and her teeth bared in a fighting grin she bolted forward and leapt into the air, falling rapidly and landing on the Houndour with the dust rising up around them from the impact. Though she was small, you couldn't deny her power. 31/32Damage: 7

Matem let out a low, rumbling growl. Mostly pained, but also angry. He rapidly tried shaking the Pikachu off, chest heaving. Finally able to wriggle himself free, he darted back towards Bo and tried to regain his breath, heart still pounding from the impact.
Bo stroked his head in worry and quickly remembered the battle, "Matem, Ember!"
Matem looked back at Bo before leaping forward, inhaling deeply and exhaling a long stream of white hot flames towards Emi.
Bo cheered, waiting for the light to die down to see the damage.

Spinel cheered as the Houndour ran back towards it's trainer, spurring Emi on. The Pikachu growled, relishing the heat of battle, and it was apparant in her eyes, how they seemed to narrow and pierce through the Houndour. Emi charged once more, but was greeted by a burst of flame. She winced in pain as the embers singed her fur and only slightly burnt her skin, once again not much damage done. Spinel roared her next command, enjoying the battle that had only just begun. "Emi use Iron Tail!" The small yellow rodent ran in zig zags at the firey beast, her tail reflecting the light of the battledome as an iron coating appeared. She dashed beneath the Houndour and, when she came out from under him on the other side, leapt straight into the air and did rapid somersaults, her tail gaining momentum as it crashed down the Houndours' back. Quick as she had come she dashed away into what she believed a safe distance where she could better prepare for his next move. 28/32Damage: 2

Matem howled in pain as his legs crumpled and he fell with a 'thump'!
Bo cried out in worry and bit her lips, fists clenched.
Matem pulled himself from the ground snarling and Bo shouted the next attack, "Fire Fang!"
Bo nodded, took a leap forward and ran full speed towards Emi, teeth barred and glowing red hot. He lunged, flying through the air and prepared himself to latch onto the opponent.

Emi tried to dodge the attack, but as serious as she was about the battle she had let down her gaurd just enough to where the Houndour could lay in a pretty good hit. The fearsome hound had leapt and bit her shoulder, it fangs white hot. The Pikachu let out a shriek as it struggled to get away, beady eyes closed, but couldn't. Spinel grimaced as her Pikachu cried out, quickly coming up with a way to force the Houndour to release her. "Emi be quick! Use Spark Cannon now!" The rodents eyes snapped open and she opened her mouth, crying out in an attempt to both intimidate Matem and gain more power as electricity from both cheecks joined together infront of her face to form a good sized ball of electricity. "Pika...chuuu!" Emi cried as she released, the cannonball of electricity striking the red chest of the Houndour. 23/32Damage: 7

((OOC: Had to re-roll. Rolled a 6 sided by mistake xD))
Matem screeched, being thrown back by the force of the electricity. His chest heaved as he panted, grunting in pain. Feeling as if his heart had been jump-started, and walked carefully backwards, keeping his eyes close on Emi, snarling.
Bo was quick to yell the next attack, "Matem, Rage!"
Matem took a running leap forward as his body began to glow a deep red. As he got closer to Emi, flames started to burn from his body and shoot towards her. Giving a howl the fire lept from his body and sped towards the opponent.

(The damage should be 9, not 8.) "That's right Emi! Show that Houndour power comes from small packages!" Spinel yelled before Matem struck. Emi was ready for him to hit, but as she dodged she lost her footing and fell, the deep red beast landing ontop of her and burning her with a direct hit. The Pikachu let out a shrill cry of pain, almost missing her trainers next command. "Emi! You'll be alright, I promise! Use Shockwave now!" The yellow rodents' body began to light up from the static in her fur, building and building until it was released in a wave of shocking electricity to force the brute from ontop of her, giving out a savage Pikachu battle cry. Through the pain of battle, she was loving it. 14/32Damage: 6

Matem winced at the noise coming from Emi. His ears flattened to his head and he didn't expect the next attack. Once again the power of the electricity shot him backwards and skidding across the floor towards Bo.
Bo knelt down to stop the sliding but Matem stopped just short of her. She made sure he was alright before telling him, "Matem, Howl!"
Matem rolled from his side and pushed himself from the ground back to his feet. He inhaled deeply before opening his mouth and letting out a howling shriek in Emi's direction. The noise made the hair down his spine stick up and the air infront of him towards the pikachu rippled with the sound.

The sound of the howl pierced the Pikachu's brain, giving her a slight head ache. She tried to shake off the sound, but it just kept going. "Emi, stop that blasted howling with a Volt Tackle!" Spinel shouted, covering her her ears in a desperate attempt to lessen the migrane inducing sound coming from the Houndour. Emi heard Spinel loud and clear, and suddenly the howling stopped. In its place was the sound of cracking electricity as electricity covered the Pikachu's body and made her look like a mini-lightning comet. You couldn't even see her anymore, only the electricity around her body. Faster and faster she ran, rapidly gaining ground. As she neared Matem she leapt up with a sort of headbutt to the chest, all the electricity transferring from her to him and the force of the blow repelling her back about six feet back, landing safely on her feet, a fierce gleam in her eyes. This was delicious. 9/32Damage: 1

Leapt backwards as Emi came at him, looking quite vicious. He was able to turn his body right after the impact and only took enough of a blow ot leave him slightly short of breath.
Bo crossed her fingers, thankful the pikachu hadn't done too much damage. She thought quickly of the right attack and shouted towards Matem, "Fire Spin!"
Matem started in a slow trot and gained speed into a full on sprint, flames building up around him. He only slowed down a few feet from Emi and skidded, sending his body into a spinning ball of fire, slamming into her.

Spinel grunted in slight frustration as Emi's attack merely bruised the black beast. Emi dodged the initial attack, that is the Houndour's actual body as he tried to slam into her, but the flames from his trail caught her and burned her skin. With a big grimace and a wince the Pikachu jumped back and out of the flame, her fur blackened as she coughed up a puff of smoke. "You'll be fine Emi, use Thunder Fang!" Her trainer shouted, knowing her little Pokemon was able to take whatever this Houndour could dish out. The Pikachu's jaws opened wide, the electricity could be seen flowing across her teeth. Two fangs made of electricity extended, while another set of jaws appeared before her, larger than the rodent and made solely from it's electricity. Emi leapt at Matem, going for it's under arm. First her teeth would clamp down with any luck, then the lightning jaws would clamp down and deliver an extra shocking bite. 4/32Damage: 6

Matem was once again jolted by long flows of electricity. His skin pricked long after the actual bite and he couldn't seem to walk straight. He looked back at Bo in confusion.
Bo, worriedly called out "Matem, use Headbutt"
That seemed to be the only attack he could still throw out with his injuries, this being the longest battle he'd been through.
Matem clumsily threw himself forward, head low, and rammed himself where he thought Emi stood.

Emi watched how clumsy Matem was becoming, and she could feel the longevity of the battle taxing her strength as well as his. His headbutt was sloppy, clumsy, and she dodged just in time, but she was unable to get away completely unscathed. The side of the skull on his head hit her leg as it came down, a glancing blow, but she was able to recover quickly from it. "Emi, now's your chance! Use Thunderbolt!" It was as if Emi had been waiting to hear that word the entire battle. As soon as she heard the 'b' sound she reacted, the electricity from her cheeks letting out all the power she had left and shooting it like a bolt of lightning at Matem's big black and red form. This battle was close, very close. 2/32Damage: 3
