 Again Day walked into the arena, tossing and catching a pokeball lazily. "Get out here, Aaron!" she threw the ordinary ball, and as it hit the ground it released a two headed bird that was held up by scrawny legs. Waiting for her opponent, Day walked to the far side of the battle field and stood, anticipating how the battle would end up.

Bo stood in the arena, tapping the shape of a pokeball in the pouch at her side. Her eyes did a quick run-down of the area and her hand slipped inside the bag. Wrapping her fingers around the pokeball she pulled it out and whispered, seemingly to herself, "Ready, Matem?"
Tossing the ball out several feet infront of her, Matem's shape appeared. He lowered himself low to the ground and waited...
Bo shouted "Matem, Go!"
He lunged forward, teeth barred, and let out a long howl as flames poured from his muzzle.

Both Aaron and Day were puzzled as to which attack that was, but it certainly hurt Aaron. He backed away a bit, now intimidated by the canine opponent, but Day would not take that. "Aaron, let's do this!" he snapped to attention. "Use quick attack!" lowering both heads, he darted around the arena, eventually coming closer to Matem to dish out the attack.

Matem was caught by the sharp beak on the side of his neck. He howled, wretching his head free and dashing back towards Bo to ready himself.
Bo anxiously called out to him, "Matem, Ember attack!"
Matem took a running leap forward and puffed out his chest inhaling as much as he could. He skidded to a halt only a few feet from Aaron and released the flames in short huffs.

Aaron blew away soot from his charred feathers, beginning to get annoyed at Matem. "Don't give up, use drill peck!" He straightened up, his beaks already lighting up. Drawing his heads back, Aaron ran over to Matem, stopping next to him to deliver a blow.

Matem snarled, shaking to rid himself of a sudden pounding headache. Jumping back he barred his teeth.
Bo clenched her fists in worry, "Matem, you're okay! Iron tail!"
Matem lunged forward, sweeping himself in the opposite direction at the last minute and delivering the blow to Aaron.

Aaron was tossed away, almost crashing into Day. She felt sweat beading on her neck and rolling down her cheeck. Getting back up slowly, Aaron knew that he was in a good position in this battle, but he could still lose. "Aaron, use body slam!" With great force, he moved a few steps and then jumped into the air, at the same time thrusting himself at Matem.

Matem whined as he was slammed hard against the ground. He spaztically moved himself, rolling the creature off of him. He breathed heavily as Bo spoke, "Matem, Headbutt!"
Matem threw himself forward, gaining speed before ramming himself headfirst into Aaron.

Aaron once more was thrown back. "Let's see what happens when you use a headbutt of your own! Use mimic, Aaron!" Aaron thought for a moment, planning out the attack. Then, copying Matem's move, he came forward to slam against the opponent in the same way that Matem had done a few moments earlier.

Matem was confused as his last move was repeated by the opponent.
Bo shouted, "Flamethrower!"
Matem heard the attack too late, and scrambled to his feet before taking deep breathes, throwing short blasts of flames to the other side of the arena.

Aaron was unhappy that his glossy coat was now blackened, but he would deal with it later. "Use swift, it can't miss!" he nodded and summoned glowing white stars to attack Matem. They shot across the stadium so quickly that there was no way to dodge them. "Let's see if we can end this now." Day said calmly.

Matem managed to escape the worst of the attack and was only hit on the edge of his shoulder.
Bo knew their chances weren't looking good, but she didn't give up. "Matem, Rage!"
Matem gave a screeching howl and dark glowing flames lept from his body and flew towards Aaron.

"Try peck again, Aaron!" Aaron's beaks gleamed with a strange energy, and he rushed forward again to attack Matem. Day clenched her teeth, wondering if this would finish it.
